[EDU Features] Crafting recipes using 4 or 9 of the same block do not work

This issue seems to be random.

After updating servers today, all are missing recipes for Diamond, Redstone, Gold, Emerald, Lapis, Quartz and Coal blocks (maybe more).

Also related, new worlds generated in 1.17.30 release seem to be fine, but some older worlds are now also missing these recipes. I've checked my local game files and the server files and all the recipes exist in json files just not in game.

Edit: Update. all local worlds tested seem to have been on a server at some point. possible BDS affecting these worlds?

Can also confirm. From information I can gather, it is effecting all BDS servers, and possibly all single player worlds that have been previously run on a BDS. No clue about realms. Also reporting I am hearing says it is from 4x4 and 9x9 crafting recipe's that use all 1 material to craft. Can also confirm manual crafting does not work. Screenshot attached.

My realm is also effected by it, as well as all of the backup worlds (these were from before yesterday's update). 
Also, cannot craft  iron or gold nuggets. 

does this prevent you from crafting a crafting table? If so, thats uh, pretty important.

If you have a copy of the world available, you might like to upload a copy of it for investigation.

• On Windows 10 you can use the Export world feature.

• On Android or iOS you need to use a file explorer to navigate to Device storage > games > com.mojang > minecraftWorlds

• On Xbox or Switch the only way is to upload it to a Realm, and then download the world on Windows 10 or Android/iOS. (Please do not purchase a Realms subscription just to provide a world to us - but if you have a Realm already this may be a viable option if you wish to do so.)

If the world is larger than 10MB you can upload the world to OneDrive or a similar file sharing site, and then share the link.

To help us try and reproduce the issue, if possible we also need to know exactly how the world was upgraded to the latest version, and:

• whether it was previously used as a Realm

• whether it was previously a Bedrock Dedicated server (BDS - if so, please ensure the server was updated correctly as per BDS-6230)

• or whether this is affecting local single player worlds (if so, does this affect newly created worlds too?)

So the servers that I all checked were updated correctly (all the files exist in the server itself). I don't have up to date backups of them.

It doesn't seem to be every block that's broken. For example, all the 1.17+ blocks are fine (copper, amethyst) that I can tell, and slime/honey/bone etc are still there. Crafting table can still be crafted as well.

I've also noticed that all the worlds I've found this issue on, do have experimental features enabled (not the caves/cliffs ones but the additional modding etc) so i'm not sure if that is a factor.

I've attached a copy of a world that I saved before the server got opened publically, it was downloaded after we had a build team work on some stuff so it had been on BDS. This particular copy hasn't been opened since 1.17.0 until yesterday and it is missing the blocks. 

Finally, I can confirm that newly created worlds are not affected as far as I've seen

We had the issue on our server. The only ones we noticed where  Redstone or iron blocks, as we just started the world this week..  Our world was creating in 1.17.11.1  I was able to get around it by creating a new world with the same seed in 1.17.30.4  after the world was generated I copied the levl.dat to the world having the issue and the problem went away.   We are running an Ubuntu BDS, with Education enabled. 

Manually adding those recipes via a behavior pack didn't solve the issue either. Just tried that as a temporary fix. It seems regenerating a new world is the only solution, but this wouldn't really be a viable option for worlds that are fairly older than a few days

I am going to update our old world that is 1.5 years old later today and see if the problem happens, it has not been loaded in 1.17.30 yet.     When we copied the level.dat over it did not mess with anything built on the server, or player inventory's or containers. Everyone login back in fine like nothing happened.      I will also upload backup copy of the world that had this issue well.

Just opened the 1.5 year old world locally that was on a server that was not updated to 1.17.30 and the crafting issue occurred.  I did open it in the beta 1.17.40, as the system I am currently on is running that.   I then generated a new world with the same seed and copied the level.dat over the problem went away. This world 1.5GB in size and lived on an ubuntu BDS for its life and had education enabled. looking at the attached screenshots it is also effecting nuggets 

After more reviewing the issue we where seeing might be Education Edition being enabled, as I just noticed that I did not check it when generating the new world.

Update- After reading the above comments, I generated a new world with only education enabled, and the recipes are missing. It's definitely an education edition issue

Today I played Minecraft on a private Server. Maybe there was downloaded an update in the backround which led to the bug. Now i cant craft Resources like coal an diamonds into blocks and i cant availble blocks disassemble.  but i can craft raw iron and copper into blocks. But once  they are melted there is the same problem. i tried everything to fix this problem (Kopie world, older Backups, new installation) but i cant fix it. This problem is only in this Server. But i dont want to give up all my effort + I cant build cleanstone stairs

Blocks effected: Block of (Iron, Redstone, Lapiz, Coal, Diamond, Emerald, Gold, Netherite, Quartz, Amethyst) and their ingot/nugget forms. They cannot be crafted or decrafted
BDS: No
Realms: No
Xbox Live Multiplayer: Yes (Consistent play among 4 players all with the same issue)

I am playing on an iPad (iOS15) on a realm where educational edition is enabled.
This is began with 1.17.30.
Caves & Cliffs is not enabled.
World is over 500mb.
We have no diamond, gold, iron nor emerald block crafting available.

Copper does still work however.

hello we are using a dedicated server and with educational mode on .
after i update my server to 1.17.30 there is no recipe for Gold,Iron and coal etc. we cant craft blocks or back to ingots please fix this issue and its not in beta version its in 1.17.30 original . We hope it will be fixed soon. Thank you

So I have done some testing. I have created a new world with the Education edition features enabled as a test. When you go to craft the items like iron blocks, diamond blocks, gold blocks, or emerald block. ( Could be more not fully sure) the crafting recipes are not there. I also created a new world without Education Edition enabled. The recipes are then there. neither of these were but on a realm or a BDS. These were singleplayer worlds. Conclusion is that it is the Education Edition that is causing the issue. As least from what I can tell. Also, I play on the Windows 10 edition of Minecraft Bedrock 1.17.32

I have this issue too. Raw ores not affected.

I have basically this same issue myself. I am an Android User and I do not even use the Education Edition yet wether in creative or survival I cannot craft anything at all except for dyes and buttons. This also means that I cannot even craft a crafting table either and havent been able to do so for a few months now.
