Update: My world is playable on realms with the 1.17.40 update BUT when downloaded to play on my PS4 like normal. I get the same error message and the blue screen.

I have also tried to play on 2 iPhones. Again. I can play on realms with the new 1.17.40 update but not on the phones themselves.
Worlds keeps crashing. Sometimes while it’s loading, 1-2 mins after it’s loaded or when it’s trying to save. I can’t play it at all.
It’s only this specific world. It loaded fine before the latest 2 updates. Now it just keeps crashing. I have 4 backups and they all crash since the 1.17.3 & .32 updates. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Exactly! It’s just the one world I actually care about. I’ve tried rebooting. Reinstalling the game. I have 5 back ups of the world. All of them are crashing. Other worlds are fine and I can start a new world. It’s very frustrating. No issues until the 1.17.30 update. And the hot fix didn’t fix it.

Is there anywhere else I can contact mojang for assistance?
If you have a copy of the world available, you might like to upload a copy of it for investigation.
On Windows 10 you can use the Export world feature.
On Android or iOS you need to use a file explorer to navigate to Device storage > games > com.mojang > minecraftWorlds
On Xbox, Switch, or PlayStation one option is to upload it to a Realm, and then download the world on Windows 10 or Android/iOS. (Please do not purchase a Realms subscription just to provide a world to us - but if you have a Realm already this may be a viable option if you wish to do so.)
If the world is larger than 10MB you can upload the world to OneDrive or a similar file sharing site, and then share the link.

Realms isn’t working at the moment either but I saw other people post so I just upvoted it. I’ll get through “Level Export finished successfully” but then it gets stuck on “Initializing Update” for about 5 or 10mins then it just Errors out. Mostly it’s just an error with no explanation. A couple of times I’ve gotten the hard drive too full but mostly it’s just the attached picture that says an error has occurred.
i will keep trying realms today.

I play on xbox series s and i have the same problem in my survival world that i have for years my realms is having problems too and i dont have minecraft on windows or android to share the map with mojang. The size of the world increases exponentially from 490MB to 492MB, then to 495MB, then to 510MB, then to 530MB, then to 580MB and from there the world becomes corrupted

My world isn’t increasing in size and I’m very thankful it hasn’t said the world is corrupted (had a couple of those last year) but none of my backups of the world are working either. I’ll either get the blue screen of sadness or an error when trying to upload to a realm.

Did you make any large builds with redstone? You could have a pending tick overflow. I don't know much about pending ticks but there are discord groups that help restore worlds with pending tick overflow. Teckrock is one of them, I can say what else you will find there as I've only joined recently. Hope this helps.

Thank you I will try and check them out. I have a redstone door in the area but it wasn’t a lot of redstone. I’ll try anything at this point. I would really hate to lose the world. I wish realms would let me upload the world so I could share it. Thank you so much for sharing this. I really hope I can find some answers.

Can you keep us posted if something changes for you? Got the same problem and the same errorcode and I really hope it gets fixed soon. We have an amazing world and would like to keep it.

I will. So far nothing has really changed. I keep hoping that I’ll at least be able to get it loaded to my realm so I can share and get some help but every update since 1.17.30 seems to break my Minecraft even more. Uninstalling and reinstalling isn’t helping. My world, realms and marketplace don’t work. I’ve been searching everywhere for help.

Ok so I finally got it uploaded to my realm and it didn’t error out. I downloaded a copy but got the same error code 38700-8.
I’m able to open the world on my iPhone as well but for the life of me I can’t figure out how to export it so I can upload it so it can be tested by someone.
If someone could help I’d appreciate it. I’m not sure what app I need to download to export the file or what the next steps are.

I’m getting the same problem and error code. Not sure if it was update related, but can’t open that game world and others work fine. To think all that time and progress is gone is heartbreaking. 😞

Does anyone know what the chance is that the affected world is permanently bugged? Can Mojang fix existing worlds or do you have to start a new world anyway? It would be so sad if the world is gone so to say, but i would be wary to start a new world as well, because there could be a chance that world would eventually get bugged as well.

I honestly don’t know. This is the first time I’ve had such a major issue with my world. It’s still a hit or miss with it on my realm. Nothing that I’ve found says the world is actually corrupted. It’s just crashing. What I do know is that I’ve been completely frustrated since September 21st trying to find a fix for this. I keep trying to play in other worlds or create a new one but it just isn’t the same. Wish this post would get more votes so they would pay more attention to it.

If you can download the world from realms on a different device I can try to guide you throw sending it to others for further inspection.

I know how to export on mcpe, first fine the file add on your phone. Then you choose "Browse > On My iphone > Minecraft > Games > com.mojang > mincraftWorlds" after that you need to fine the world file, you can look through the file data until you find it. when you have it choose "Select > (The world) > Move > iCloud Drive > Downloads" now you can use email (I used gmail) to send the file to others. Thank you so much Carefulfoil75#5245. I have found the file in my Minecraft worlds but have no clue how to recognize what to send. I was able to download it on my iPhone but there’s a file with 233 items and it all just looks the same. Most with just 2.1MB file size. I’ve never had to go this far into figuring out how fix the world and I have discord but my old brain has no clue how to use it. I really appreciate you trying to help.

I can asure you all that Mojang will fix the problem. They need it. Imagine all Bedrock players losing their worlds, their project they put a long time effort that can be count in YEARS. It would backfired then So horribly, whole baseatarted to meltingdown like 4th nuclear reactor in Chernobyl. They see the problem and high responsibilities in not fixing then. Waiting its painful, but maybe its the only solution we can provider do developers. Team just need time to fix the code.

I started noticing it was real laggy last night. I Accidentally fell asleep and left the game on so I logged out this morning. Was able to log back in for 30 sec before being greeted with blue screen error ce-38700-8. Unfortunately I backed up my world online this morning and I have no recent-older copies to try and run. Just 3 copies of this broke down ass 5 year old world. (Other worlds work, and 1year+ old copies I found of the same world work flawlessly.)
Really hoping they find a fix for this or how many people will lose their years old world. Now I know to backup a freaking copy every day after saving and keep separate on a flash drive.

Has anyone else been able to load their world to a realm? My world is there and I was even able to have a friend log in and she was able to see the whole world. We were kicked out after about 30 mins (a known bug, I know) but it was there. Still unable to play on it like I used to but at least I was able to see that the world wasn’t corrupted. If someone else can see if they can do the same let me know or maybe upload the world for someone else to take a look at. I’m trying to be patient for the next update but I also don’t want this bug to get lost in the fray of all the other bugs.

I have a similar bug, my regular world wont load but I have been able to load it on a beefed up computer and i could see the world was all there just it was super slow. I think it's a bug across all minecraft bedrock to do with large worlds... MCPE-144052

Copy of affected world would be very helpful. You can zip whole affected world or use "Export World" in world settings. If it exceeds 10 MB, you can use OneDrive or similar file sharing service and share link.

I have no idea if I did this right. All I know is my world is 673.9 MB. I do know that there are other “resolved” issues that are linked here that did have uploads. I hope this works because it’s been over a month.

I hope it get's fixed. My 3.5 year old survival world is just like this... It allways crashes on auto save and I'm frightened. And I can't uplode it on realms without ps +

Just want to add details from MCPE-143726. I play on Nintendo Switch without any mods. Since 1.17.30, my first world crashes after 90 seconds or less of playtime, and cannot be saved after that point. If I play it will crash after 90 seconds. If I sleep, it will crash upon waking up. If I try to save after doing something or moving to another location, it will crash. If I try to take down signs to remove entities, and then save, it will crash. Size of the world is ~356 MB. Started new world that does not experience this issue. Has not been resolved with 1.17.32 or 1.17.40.

If you know anyone else having the same issues please send them here and have them vote on the bug. I’m not sure how many votes are actually considered enough for this issue to be looked into but we need all the help we can get. I haven’t been able to play in my world since September 21st.

Patch 2.32 update did nothing for me either. As a matter of fact, I had restarted building my world from an earlier save and had no issues with it until patch 2.32, and then the same thing happened with my world rebuild. If this is what cliffs and caves is going to do, then it needs to stay off of my version or I will need a refund and they can take the game back. I'm not going thru this everytime an update occurs on my PS4. Game is not worth that.

We need to bring this error to the top. My world weighs 323.8 mb and I cannot play it since 1.17 because of this error. Operating system - Android 8.

For real, Mojang need to really deal with the problem because its guys crazy absolutely C R A Z Y - why? Because it have nothing to do with world save file weight - my 3 yo world weights silly 60 MB (superflat, creative) and while i couldn't play on my fav world, i created some new one, which had over 90 MB of size and it worked very finely. No realms, just pure vanilla. This bug is trully insane

This keeps happening on the Series X too, you'll get on a world, it'll run for 30, maybe 60 seconds, then it'll freeze and crash. Every single time

Did anyone found any solution? I have like 3 Worlds with same issue, and other 2 works perfectly.

Haven’t found a solution and my realms is so broken that I’m canceling the subscription. I hope they figure out why this is happening and my world isn’t completely gone.

I got the same error on ps4. @Mojang pls let us know that you are working on this issue, and there will be a solution soon so this problem will get fixed. We dont want to lose our worlds with hours/days/years of hard work and time 😞

I have this issue on my world I’ve been working on for 2 years. Things ran smooth and then the hot fix came and next time it crashed. I won’t be playing this game ever again if I can’t recover that world. Too much work would be wasted. Please do whatever it takes to fix this.

Same issue on XBOX One. 500 MB game save file, 1.5 years old, starts and runs for approximately one minute, then freezes and crashes silently back to the main XBOX menu screen.

3 weeks and still unresolved, really Mojang?

I have to admit it’s pretty frustrating. Especially since there’s no communication; like this issue doesn’t matter and isn’t worth their time. I understand realms not working being a huge issue but so are worlds randomly crashing for no reason. I’ve found a couple other more bugs in another world I’m playing in but figured why bother posting.

GUYS I FIXED IT!
If you have a realm slot available you can save the world. Upload it to the slot as many times as it takes. You may have to rename the world slot a time or two to get it to work right but after two days of trying everything, this worked. Realms are the only safe zone.

I’ll try this tomorrow. I’ve haven’t had any luck with realms since the 1.17 update. I was able to play on it one time for a little over a hours before it went back to not working. That was about a week or so again. I’ve been trying each day to get it to work on realms but I have an open slot I haven’t tried.

So, if i dont have a realm i cannot Fix my world ?

I have realms and it’s so broken I can’t get any world to upload. Even brand new ones so it’s not really a fix either.

I have an Xbox one and my world is only 95.5 MB but it loads for a few minutes and I can only stay in the world for 30 seconds before it freezes for a second then quietly kicks me back to the Xbox home screen, no notifications or anything pop up. Is anyone else having trouble opening other online games after getting kicked from Minecraft? Between me and Xbox support, we narrowed it down to solely being the Minecraft world.

Resolving as fixed in 1.17.41 Hotfix based on comments above. This may have been the same underlying issue as MCPE-143156.

i just turned on my xbox and updated the game, and apparently everything is fine. thank you mojang, now i can continue to build my city that i have since 2015

The updates are rolling out on different dates. So if you didn’t get one today it should be there within the next fews days or early next week.
