PlayStation: Crash with error CE-38700-8 when opening certain worlds.

Update: My world is playable on realms with the 1.17.40 update BUT when downloaded to play on my PS4 like normal. I get the same error message and the blue screen.

1.17.40 (playable on realms but not PS4)

1.17.34 version (doesn't work properly on realms or on PS4)

I have also tried to play on 2 iPhones. Again. I can play on realms with the new 1.17.40 update but not on the phones themselves.

Worlds keeps crashing. Sometimes while it’s loading, 1-2 mins after it’s loaded or when it’s trying to save.  I can’t play it at all.

It’s only this specific world. It loaded fine before the latest 2 updates. Now it just keeps crashing. I have 4 backups and they all crash since the 1.17.3 & .32 updates. Any assistance would be appreciated.

I have the same problem. I enter a particular world and then it chrashes and gives error ce-38700-8.

For what I know now, for me happens with a specific world and not others

Exactly!  It’s just the one world I actually care about. I’ve tried rebooting. Reinstalling the game. I have 5 back ups of the world. All of them are crashing. Other worlds are fine and I can start a new world. It’s very frustrating. No issues until the 1.17.30 update. And the hot fix didn’t fix it.

Is there anywhere else I can contact mojang for assistance?

If you have a copy of the world available, you might like to upload a copy of it for investigation.

  • On Windows 10 you can use the Export world feature.

  • On Android or iOS you need to use a file explorer to navigate to Device storage > games > com.mojang > minecraftWorlds

  • On Xbox, Switch, or PlayStation one option is to upload it to a Realm, and then download the world on Windows 10 or Android/iOS. (Please do not purchase a Realms subscription just to provide a world to us - but if you have a Realm already this may be a viable option if you wish to do so.)

If the world is larger than 10MB you can upload the world to OneDrive or a similar file sharing site, and then share the link.

Realms isn’t working at the moment either but I saw other people post so I just upvoted it. I’ll get through “Level Export finished successfully” but then it gets stuck on “Initializing Update” for about 5 or 10mins then it just Errors out. Mostly it’s just an error with no explanation. A couple of times I’ve gotten the hard drive too full but mostly it’s just the attached picture that says an error has occurred.

i will keep trying realms today.

The update solved my world too! Thanks Mojang and everyone in the comments for letting me know.

Yup I can confirm my world is back to normal to

Thank you Mojang. That was some shit. Never ever ever ever only having 1 backup again.

I am still having this issue. I cannot even get to the title screen before it crashes.

Scott Williams: please make a new report since the change made to fix this report seems to have worked for most users.
