Steps to reproduce:
Place any sapling; (As of 1.21.50.26 this bug only affects cherry saplings)
Place a cherry leave above the sapling;
Bonemeal the sapling.
Observed results:
The sapling doesn´t grow up into a tree.
Expected results:
The sapling should grow up into a tree.

Still broken as of 1.20.81. This bug is the sole reason I have not played since the second week of 1.20 launch. It has been almost a year since launch(6/7/23, today is 5/23/24) and this still has not been fixed. I understand not every bug is equal, but considering this is a reoccurring issue for the past few major updates, I would think it would be an "easier" bug to fix. Unfortunately, my patience and understanding has worn past the point of no return, and I will not be playing anymore future updates. I still hope this gets fixed eventually, but I'm done holding my breath.

Can’t farm cherry trees. That’s a pain, its a nice wood.
This seems a pretty major bug compared to others that have been fixed.
