Frequent freezing on Nintendo Switch since new update

I’ve found that the freezing actually freezes the player in place within the server so for example, if you would to be falling and you freeze, your player character would stop falling and would freeze in midair to other players

While I am not the original reporter of this bug, I can confirm that the issue occurs in both Single and Multiplayer.

These freezes are soo annoying. Like if you are in the middle of pvp and your game freezes it’s over for you. I can’t do pvp or other multiplayer games on servers until it gets fixed because I just die.

It will soon be 1 month since the freeze is there, it will be 1 month that I can no longer play minecragt because the freezes can last up to 30 segonde

From my experience (I’m not sure if this will work for anyone else) the best way to know if you have the freezing glitch and get it freezing reliably every time is by going into settings and then exit out, this should (if you have the glitch because not everyone has it it seems) freeze the game for around 21-30 seconds

Bruh still freezing after update.

As of 1.21.50, it now freezes upon sleeping in a bed

edit: this doesn’t happen when repeatedly sleeping in a bed during the night with Daylight Cycle turned off or when setting the time to midnight immediately after sleeping, but it does freeze after about a minute of not sleeping

I see lots of people who play Minecraft on Nintendo switch couldn’t use Elytra, horses, boats and maps to explore world because of long chunks loading. When you have big animal farm or many villagers in village the game starts lags a lot. So it’s the limit for Nintendo system.

When you build a lot and mine you experience:

• long chunks loading when the game started (I see behind the wall objects like animals, mobs etc) and sound freezes (I open door and sound of opening does not appear or appears with a delay)

• while mining - blocks disappears and mobs attacks with long delay

I don’t mention experience with multiplayer because I play single.

I tried all recommendations from Microsoft and Nintendo support (restart console, check for corrupt data, re-download and reinstall the game, reset cash etc) and lots of people recommendation in different publics.

My switch model is the standard non-Lite non-OLED model and the current software version I am on is 19.0.1. If it could possibly help, my switch was purchased in 2018.

Experiencing the same issue in multiplayer since 1.21 first came out. Game freezes as soon as a third player joins. You can move around, but nothing loads, and you appear to be standing to the other players. After a few minutes, the non-host players are kicked. Any movement/actions during the freeze aren't saved.

We've tried alternating who hosts, starting new files, and done lots of network troubleshooting (I've submitted two different tickets to support). It runs okay with two players but adding a third causes this crash every single time. We are playing on Switch and Switch Lite, my Switch version is 19.0.1

We have investigated issue on the same models of Switch with OS version that matches reports from discussion. Unfortunately, We are not being able to reproduce issue on our devices. We will continue our further investigation about the freezes on Nintendo Switch. 

In this time can I have a video of the issue? And naming it adequately to your switch model and system version and whether it comes from single player or multiplayer.

Something I’ve noticed while playing with a timer is that the game will always freeze on 30 second intervals. For example when it unfreezes with a minute timer on 0:30, the next time it freezes will be on 1:00, 1:30, 2:00 etc. what I don’t understand is why it doesn’t always freeze, for instance I could afk for hours and never (to my observations) experience a single freeze, and then if I’m mining in a cave, It’ll freeze in 30 second intervals like I described

Can confirm that It still freezes in 1.21.60

Can confirm that it still freezes in 1.21.71 hotfix. I honestly don’t know if they are going to fix this or not, as well as all of the multiplayer issues and random game crashes from addons. I’ll give them time, but I don’t think they’re going to fix them, at least not for a while.

I think it may be the chunks loading in and freezing the game

I don’t even think they are going to fix this at this point, it’s been several months since this was first reported, it should’ve been fixed by now.

I have been having this issue since 1.21 first updated…. Maybe even before, i can't remember now. Still going in 1.21.92

I have tried deleting saved games incase it was a memory issue. I have removed things in the game ro reduce lag. I have altered settings. Nothing fixed it. I tried starting a whole new game today, and it still happened almost immediately. I get freezes when I'm moving, when I am in the inventory screen. When trading. Over world and Nether. No clue what is causing it.

Today I tried bugfixing with the Switch settings. Redownloading the game, everything I can find online. Still the same issue

Hello! Did you guys tried hard resetting the Nintendo Switch while keeping games save files and data? I don’t know if it will fix, but this could help.

Note:

• This process will not delete your save data, screenshots, or user information. 

• However, it will remove software data, user information, and unlink any Nintendo Accounts from the console, requiring you to re-link them or create new users. 

• Software on a microSD card might become unusable after this process, though screenshots saved to the card are generally unaffected. 

• This method is specifically for resolving issues while preserving your game progress and user data, and is different from a complete factory reset that erases all data. 

This issue happens every time in main menu and aswell in the worlds amd servers there is this freeze.
