Cannot edit long name of duplicated/imported/downloaded world

The world name cannot be edited for duplicated worlds with names 32 characters or longer (note: 42 characters before 1.21.51).

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Duplicate a world with a 28-character or longer name (note: 38-character before 1.21.51)

  2. Edit the duplicated world and try to edit the name

Observed Results:
Deleting characters or moving the cursor with space bar does not change the name and the cursor stays between the old name and the duplicate number and won't move. Note that deleting characters and trying to move the cursor with the space bar shows changing words in autocorrect.

See video "42-char duplicate locked"

Expected Results:
I should be able to delete characters in a world name, even when the name is over the 40-character length limit.

Notes:

When the duplicated world's name is 32 characters or longer the name cannot be edited.

For example, the first 9 duplicates of a 27-character name world - so 31 characters long ending in (1) to (9) - can be edited, but the 10th duplicate - which is 32 characters long ending in (10) - cannot be edited.

See video "41-char duplicate NOT locked"

Observed in Minecraft Bedrock 1.21.44 on

  • iPad Air (4th generation) / iPadOS 18.0.1

  • iPhone Xs / iOS 18.0.1

Hi!

Does this issue still occurs on the newest version?
I can no longer enter more than 30 characters.
Please re-check.

In Bedrock 1.21.51, the problem has been fixed by replacing the new Edit World Screen introduced in Bedrock 1.20.60 with the older version of the Edit World Screen.

If the 1.20.60 Edit World Screen is enabled again later, this problem could reappear.

Tested on iOS 18.1.1.

In Bedrock 1.21.51 the problem now occurs when duplicating worlds with names 28 characters or longer, now that the newer 1.20.60 Edit World Screen has been re-enabled, and world names have been limited to 30 characters.

Tested on iPadOS 18.1.1.

The same thing is happening to me on bedrock edition for Xbox on 1.21.51. It seems to only happen if you try to edit a copy of a world, since the added characters can push it over the character limit. Once it’s over the character limit, the world name cannot be edited, with clicking on it just putting the cursor at where the character limit is and the keyboard not appearing.

Same on xbox latest release. The duplicate saved game will add characters and the name is too long. Of course if you did not know it now you cannot rename to shorter either. How do we get this fixed please?
