PlayStation: Can no longer play split screen

I have the same problem on ps5

I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game, but the problem persists.

This issue seems to occur when the user owning the world is a PlayStation local account. Creating a PSN account for the user and signing in resolved the issue. (Since it's local multiplay, a PS Plus subscription is not required.)

But it’s should be fix and is better to enable split-screen for local accounts, as in previous versions.

I play with two PSN accounts and I still have the problem, I don't know if it's a different case

Hi, for days, the split screen was not working. Yesterday it was working again, but today it is broken again. Please give a status update and an estimation, when this should be fixed. My kids are impatient.

The update 3.35 have still not fix this problem. We cant play Minecraft at home with the split screen. The user account who have the world is a local account.

Anyone experiencing error D0020 when entering the game?

I've had this problem for months now; it won't let me access the marketplace and it won't let me use skins.

I found that changing networks fixed that error, and then I could log into the game normally.

This time I tried switching networks and playing split-screen, and it worked; it lets me play split-screen now. But I see that the root problem is the D0020 error code I'm getting.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

Hi Peter, try using your phone as a mobile hotspot using your mobile data. You'll need to completely close and reopen the game and wait for your Minecraft account to fully load.

After that, open your world and try pressing the options button several times, and even holding it down for a few seconds. It takes a little while, but it eventually works.

Try it and tell me what happens.

As I mentioned, my problem is related to an error code, which is D0020, when trying to open the marketplace.

Hi Carlos. Your way didnt work. But I got it to work. I made one online account for my child with parents control. After verifiering email everything works again with split screen.

I will see tomorrow if it works again or not. But strange that you need an online account to play split screen

We have this issue too. Pressing the Options button on the controller makes the normal message appear “Press <options button> to join” or similar wording, but pressing the Options button a second time just makes the message disappear without the second player joining. Offline split screen play, none of the players with an online account.
Also, now, when choosing ‘Save & Close’, the game stays forever stuck on the saving screen!

Please fix this quickly, it’s frustrating not being able to play our favourite game (my 9-year-old daughter and I).

hi carlos, thank you for your suggestion. switch network to hotspot using mobile phone can bring up the split screen again.

no update on this yet? This is gamebreaking and not worth the “tiny evasion” update. If I could downgrade the ver on my PS5 I would but I can’t. We are stuck unable to play and it’s very disappointing.

Hi, I'm having the same problem with the marketplace and Mojang's online services; when I try to play, the split screen won't open either.

In a post about the error code I saw, they mentioned that changing your internet router settings (if you had an IPv4 or IPv6 network) caused some problems opening and using those game functions.

What I did was switch my router to only the IPv4 network, and now the services and split screen work correctly without having to switch to the mobile network.

I hope someone finds it useful.

Carlos, can you please stop spamming this, it’s not a fix. this is affecting local accounts playing split screen and has nothing to do with network connection as you could play split screen local without internet connection.

Im having the same problem with my PS5 i connect a second controller with a psn account and it wont work but it works with a guest account that is not signed in to psn , and i could play with a guest account but the psn account i was using had items and other stuff that i need and i cant get them because it wont work.
