No ambient occlusion on light-emitting blocks (smooth lighting does not work)

Light-emitting blocks have no ambient occlusion. This makes them look very out of place.

That is intentional behavior

I am almost 100% sure this is working as expected.

This is intentional, it is a feature introduced in the 0.8.0 update a few years ago

I have done my research, it has been confirmed by Helen Angel in the Offical Minecraft Livestream that this is an intentional feature. Turns out this is a bug on Java edition.

Even if this is intentional it still looks very weird since the light level blue ice gives off is very faint

This seems to also cause blocky shading as shown on MCPE-98505.

It doesn't seem like blue ice emits light in 1.17.20.23 Beta, but the issue exists for other blocks.

Blue ice does not emit light in the current release either, and it was stated as an intentional parity change in a recent changelog.

Sculk Catalyst when placed and seen in the hotbar has the same problem

I think the glow block should have ambient occlusion
