Verification builds:
1.2.11.4 | All Platforms: Yes
Summary:
It has been reported that there is often significant lag on bedrock Realms. Some of the issues are:
Quickly breaking blocks causes them to reappear
Quickly placing blocks causes them to disappear
When bridging out across lava in the nether, blocks can disappear, pushing the player off into lava.
Trying to block off flowing lava sometimes doesn't work, and you can take damage from it even though you can't see it visually.
Rubber-banding type issues with mobs, meaning that mobs can suddenly swarm and kill you, or creepers can suddenly appear and explode before you see them.
Also when attacking passive mobs, they won't appear to take any damage, and then suddenly die.
When flying quickly (creative or with elytra) chunks can be very slow to load in.
Many of these were mentioned in a community member's video: https://youtu.be/m1-0V39MvIE
Repro Steps:
(Just a single scenario, any of the above can be reproduced by playing on a realm)
Join a Survival realm with other players online
Pillar blocks beneath you whilst jumping for some time
If you survive that, dig the blocks beneath you quickly
Observed Results:
The block placement lag will often result in you being thrown off the pillar or clipping into the blocks, and if you dig downwards, you may take fall damage.
Expected Results:
There should not be significant block placement/breaking lag
Screenshots/Videos attached: No - but see community member video outlining the issues: https://youtu.be/m1-0V39MvIE

I have noticed a couple of times, that while digging or mining, the entities of broken blocks on the floor that haven't been picked up does seem to correlate with the amount of block breaking lag.
Even just a couple of stacks of items seems to have a noticeable affect on the ability to break blocks without them reappearing.
It may well be coincidence. Further evidence is required.
Yes this issue is awful! I even notice it when I try place items in chests with hoppers attached to them. The items keep popping back in my inventory.
It doesn't happen in creative mode on the realms so it must be to do with the entity being created and added into the inventory or being taken from the inventory when the blocks are placed.
On our closed realm (larger minecraft YouTuber) i have observed issues are worst for everone if even one client on the realm is on an underpowered Android or IPhone device or even an old pc. Users connecting over cellular as opposed to wired/wifi also seem to pull down performance.
Our realms save size is also very large (over 1 gb) and garbage collection issues over the day may also be an issue as it appears to get worst the longer it is from the nightly reboot..
Published recommended device specs (not minimum) might help big realms like ours if admins could configure the minimum clients they want to accept in their realms. We rarely see issues when most of us are on xbox one x or s and/or on modern gaming pcs. Published Realm services specs would also help large realms like ours such as publishing the specs of the virtual servers you use to host the realm including memory and best practices for managing realm size.
Hi everyone. We did a major perf overhaul during the fall, and we believe that it's a lot better now. Have any of you noticed improvements?
aside from some occasional slow rendering speed while in flight, most of the lag is gone for me, so thanks!
