PlayStation can’t download world from realm.

Still not working.  This is a big issue for me and my friends on the PS4.  We switch between 2 worlds every week, and now I cannot switch worlds because I cannot download a save of the current world. 

It seems like Minecraft is getting more and more broken for PS4 users... And now I am no longer able to log in to this site from the PS4, as I was able to just last week.

Two months since this ticket was opened and no response from support, but they close out any related bug report as "resolved". This is not very good support. I may have to cancel Realms subscription. I won't pay for a service without support when it breaks. 

I have the same issue also I reported a while back and finally got a response to come on here today. I also noticed that when you redownload minecraft it is 2.9gb and as soon as I log in the install file then jumps to over 10gb without doing anything and 1gb of saves. When trying download skins or world's it then says not enough space on Ps4. 

The latest update fixed this issue for me - Thank you!

I got the same Issue!
I got more than enough space on my PS4.
The worldsize is 924.9 mb and it keeps gettin stuck on 604.00 mb everytime I try to download it.
I tried everything but nothing seems to work.

How could the Developers not take Action for 100+ days on a Major issue like that?

Thought its probably because I got Minecraft not installed on system storage of the ps4.
So I moved it to the systemstorage and restarted the whole ps4 but same as before.
World download is still stuck (for me at 604.00 MB of 924.8 MB!)

First I tried to download my 806.7MB world on my ps4 so I can move it into another realm I just purchased, And I had this annoying bug. Then I tried to do the same but on the android version, I found that there's a restriction that doesn't allow me to download worlds bigger than 426 MB (this is a thread you can find here at bugs.mojang). My last attempt was trying to download my world using my Nintendo switch, but there's another bug on it that tells me that there is not enough space to download it even if I have several GB of free space (this is another bug thread here at dubs.mojang). So, in conclusion, this bug took me into 3 different bugs threads , one on each platform, any of them has been resolved since last year or so. In addition to this I have a new realm I purchased before I got stuck on this bug. What the hell is going on with mojang on this?!!

@julio, the only option is to port it via a windows or Linux based computer and use those clients to download the file to a mc world file. Those you can use on windows based machines. If you want to keep playing the world with your friends you can via a server by downloading the bedrock server and hosting a local server . The issue with this is that ps4 and Xbox and other consoles keep their servers segregated so your friends can only join your server on console via products like mc connector or bedrock together. When it comes to porting it back to a playstation. What you could try to to host it on your windows device and use software like amulate to delete chunks your build isn't in. Once your world file size is below 500 re-upload it to a realm and download it to your Console of Choice.

Thanks for you help Cathrine. Unfortunately I dont have any windows device. I use Mac. Also that would mean to buy the windows version of the game. This shouldn't be necessary. I already own ps4, android and Nintendo versions haha. This almost seems like mojang wants me to buy all existing versions hahaha. This feels like a scam. We should be able to do everything on a single platform. I know you are giving me a solution anyway 🙂. Thanks again.

I've been having this exact same issue for a long time on PlayStation 4. My download stalls at 658MB out of 850.3MB. I would love it if they could fix this issue. I really want to pull my world off of the realms. I didn't know uploading my world to realms would get it stuck there. A players Minecraft world is important. Please fix.

This bug is still here and even after I tried almost all solutions it still will not work. I literally just want to figure out what my seed is and the only way to do it is by downloading the world and it just will not work.

Yup. I’m having the same issue, I just want my seed to my realm.! Cmon Mojang! This will cause you to lose a lot of loyal players if you don’t fix this issue soon! 

I am having this issue too. It makes me nervous that I can't save copies of my world. We've been playing it for almost 2 years, and losing it would be devastating. I spent so many hours working on it with friends and family during Covid. 

Please fix this issue and make it so that Playstation can download Realms worlds

I was having this exact problem on latest update PS5, hung at 474mb out of 572mb. Deleted game and reinstalled and on this latest 1.18.2 update it is now working. Maybe this can help someone if you haven’t tried again yet on this update.

I'm surprised how old this bug is especially as we have had 2 big updates to Mincraft since Jan 21.

Like everyone else I'm a bit nervous that I can't download a backup. But mainly I want to turn my realm back into a single player world as mob generation rules on realms are pretty weak. So a lot of farms won't work properly.

Having the same exact problem with my cousion on PS4. We have a realm and if something happens to the realm servers and the realm gets corrupted, we will have no physical backup to the world! Over 3000 hours have been put into this realm!

Same exact issue here, but my realm is 1.5 GB and it will stop downloading at 658 MB

The same Bug is still present in the current version 1.19.2 for a file size of 690 MB. This is the worst bug as it affects so many parts of quality of gaming. The previous Posters already mentioned the most important ones like not being able to run some farms and not being able to store Backups. Can anybody provide Feedback about when this will be Adressed? It is out there for more than a year and is the first time for me that I am really frustrated.

The world download option for realms on the console is still broken. 

I also had the exact same bug on my realm on bedrock edition fpr ps5. So I tried to download the world via Minecraft Windows Edition and my attempt was eventually successful. I still can't download it on my ps5 but in case something goes wrong or the world data gets damaged, I have a backup on my laptop.

Maybe this can help you to save your world data just in case something goes wrong.

Still can't belive this hasn't been fixed, 4 major updates later. I purchase the realm subscription and find out I can't even download the world making it impossible to find the world seed. Please fix this soon.

We've been able to backup our Realm on PS5 in the past (last time was June 2023), but we are now experiencing this issue today. Difference is our download bar completes then we get the error message. 737.3 MB. 

I lost my3yr, 964mb world this past fall come to find out, I lost it to a bug that’s existed for far too long. I don’t have access to any other device so I can’t work around this problem. I hope this thread gains more attention so it can be patch and many like me can continue playing on their worlds.

Also having the same issue described by so many people here. My download gets to the end and then the error message pops up. My world is 690.17mb so did check if I have space (I do) and tried all the steps above, with no luck whatsoever. Can't afford to keep realms sub so... this is just great. 

This bug represents a fundamental flaw in the Realms service offered by Mojang, and unfortunately, this issue has persisted for far too long. All lines of communication having seemingly ceased, and there are no apparent developers working toward a fix.  One of the many frustrations with the current state of Minecraft. 

This is so frustrating. Because of this bug I still don't know the seed for a realm I've had for three years. 

The newest update dropped and still hasn’t been patched nor acknowledged.

Yes, this still occurs on my PS5 trying to download my Realm as a world.

If the workaround is to download the world in Windows (which I have done), how do we get it back on our PlayStations?

So this problem is down to the specific packaging tool shipped with PS4 and PS5.

Basically it should create a Bin / P2 file. But when the file structure is to large the packaging utility runs out of memory.

@Mojang, please resolve this error, But if you can't because its something only Sony can resolve than please mention this ASAP.

But if this piece of software is within your scope, than it would be nice to resolve this after 10 years. If you are not willing to resolve this, I will buy a development kit myself and code a tool and send it to Sony. If this packaging tool is within your scope, please resolve it.

Some platforms do have limitations as to the size of downloads that are possible for a title. We will make the appropriate adjustments to in game messaging to address this.

Additionally, we may allow for Realm world uploads and downloads via Minecraft.net at some point in the future. 

Hi everyone, I posted a few times (one of my comments is mysteriously missing but I posted about this in July and February both in this year) about having this issue on PS5. I try downloading it every patch to see if it does work and with the most recent patch, it has actually downloaded my realm to a world so I was able to cancel my realm sub! 

I'm not saying it will 100% work for everyone, but it does seem in my case something has improved, so I hope this is actually on the way to being fixed for all.
