Hi - I did not receive the message to update this? - Luckily I was heading here to update it anyway.

Steps to reproduce - I don’t know - I log in somewhere in my world, arrive at the villager prison and some are missing. - I can’t say when it happens in any more detail.

Observed Results - I have 40 villagers. They are all real natural spawned zombie villagers (not from a spawner). They have been in minecarts, name tagged, some hold items and have all be cured. Most have been traded with at least once.

I leave and sometimes when I come back they are missing. In my original case I think it was three or four. I replaced those. I logged in on the 23 / 24.03.25 for the first time after 5 weeks (no PC due to repairs) and 3 were missing again.

I used new zombie villagers, sat in minecarts, name tagged, some holding items and cured. to replace them.

I logged in again this morning 25.03.25 and 3 have vanished again. Two are in the same position (marked (a)) meaning they had already been replaced yesterday. I can’t remember if I traded with them. I don’t think I did. But they shouldn’t de-spawn regardless.

Expected results - Due to being natural spawned zombie villagers (not from a spawner) they should not despawn at all. Some hold blocks, some are traded with, all are name tagged and all are cured.

Hi, does it show where the duplicate is please like it used to? It made it easier to locate the correct report. Thank you

I have noticed for several updates - possibly as long as 6 months that the maps have changed to be more like Java? I am not sure if this is an error or on purpose, but please put it back. I haven’t heard anything on the MC update channels about it.

Expected behaviour:

Maps regardless of locator or not, show the arrowed cursor in the corner of the map you are using. The cursor points to the position you are facing so you know where you are in relation to where you are heading on the map

- no matter where you are in the world be it 40k blocks away or more.

** Images show the original style, cursor changes direction with the player both on and off the map location.

[media]

New behaviour:

Cursor is now a dot - so you have no idea which way you are facing.

Cursor vanishes when you are far away - making it impossible to use the map.

** Image shows no marker on the map because I am apparently too far away.

[media]

This is a huge issue for me - I use maps all the time and now most of them are useless as they are too many blocks away. If this is being changed for parity, please match Bedrock’s version to Java and make their maps useful, instead of ours redundant.

Thank you

Still a problem in v1.21.51  However, I have noticed something else.  If you leave the inventory alone of the item affected, for 1 minute, the problem fixes itself.  I was breaking and collecting blocks this time and then placed a shulker box down, tried to remove all diorite from my shulker to my inventory and to an empty shulker.  Most moved, hower, 5 remained in the original shulker and 63 in my inventory.  I left those alone and collected more blocks of another type.  I came back to it after one minute and had 5 diorite still in the shulker and 64 in my inventory.  I do not know what affected those 5 blocks as I had space to take them.

You do not need to close MC to fix the issue.  I have tested this several times now.  It does happen with shulker transfers, but also inventory alone.

[media]

This image shows I had space to take the 5 in the shulker, but they would not move, and the 63 remained also.

After I opened my inventory 1 minute later and collected some other blocks, the 63 was now 64 and the 5 unchanged.  Upon making some space, the 5 were movable as were the 64.

Hi again - I couldn't find the add button and had placed the details on the other report prior to writing this one - I have copied them over for you here;

Observed results - I have a 12+k day survival world and over the last week I have had 1 villager (named and traded with) disappear.  He was trapped in a one block area linked to bed and workstation.  I have just logged on and returned to the trading area to find 3 more have disappeared - also traded and named in the same set up.  I have been Afking for a while lower down and logged out, plus moved out of the area, so I am not sure when it happened.  These were also converted natural zombie villagers not regular ones nor ones that I forced into a zombie state, or from a spawner.  You can see the missing three [spaces] here. The villager marked [B] is the replacement for the other one.  I have been losing villagers a lot in another trading area but I assumed they were somehow falling through the walls when waking up into the farm below as I had seen a couple in there.  But now wondering if this is a problem with them just disappearing as well. Bedrock v 1.21.51 Thank you Cjsgoose

I do not know how to reproduce the issue, it is something I have noticed, but don't know why it happens.

What should happen - Villagers that are named should not despawn, villagers that are traded with should not despawn, I believe zombie villagers converted should not despawn.  I have done all three of these.

In case anyone else comes across this, I have been taxing my brain as to why the villager spawn egg, spawns all types of villagers, but no matter how I try they will not connect to a workbench, even one they are currently shown as for example a cleric with a brewing stand.  'GoldenHelmet' mentions trying to add a bed.  I did that in a completely new creative world, and yes, it worked after a slight delay.  So if you are struggling. try adding a bed.  Not sure why I never had this issue before though.

Thanks, CJSGOOSE

I have had this issue for some time and keep meaning to log it.  It happens at random times, I haven't noticed a pattern.  Except it does seem to often involve a stack of 62 items and when relogging it is actually a full stack.  I try to remove / move the stack in my inventory and it flashes but doesn't allow me to pick it up - or move it.  It just stays in the same slot.  It is always in my inventory, not from the chests etc.  I am playing Win 11 v1.21.31 survival mode - no cheats or mods and I have noticed it for around 1 - 2 months on and off.  The only way I can fix it is to exit the game and return back into it.  Then you can move them.  This time I had a stack of 62 and a stack of 3 crimson stem which I thought odd, but is the same bug.  I tried to join them together but they wont.  After relogging the full stack appears - stack of 64 not 62 and can be moved again.  See pictures attached.

I have just opened MC after a few days of not having the PC and the Minecart had stopped again in the lighthouse.  It is in a chunk, so that is not an issue.  The other one in the Iron / Guardian farm had also stopped, again in a chunk.  Upon restarting both mcarts they seem fine for now.

Thank you, I did search, but didn't find the one you mentioned.  Would you like me to add these comments / images to the other report?

I can confirm this also on Windows 11 1.21.21.  I didn't realise it was a bug until now but it is very annoying.  I have a circle on my locator map not showing the direction I need to head.  I hope it isn't a parity with Java as Bedrock's Arrow is much better.

Hi, I have tried to recreate this in my survival world, but I couldn't due to lack of chickens and the only ones I found the foxes ate before I could reach them.  So, I tried it in creative mode.  I could not recreate it again when dry, however, when raining sometimes they were raw and others cooked - I am assuming depending on whether under a tree or not?  So I am not sure if this is intended game play as the rain counter acts the fire aspect?

I did not think it was raining when I killed the original chicken but maybe it was?

I used the same Taiga biome for comparison.

Hi, I do not believe so.  I can’t remember it raining at the time.  I was in a Taiga biome (the one with the tall spruce trees and mossy blocks everywhere).  I was on land and not near a water source.  I can try to recreate it if I find another chicken if you would like?

I have noticed since the previous update 1:20 that if you take a new anvil and use it, you can put it back with your other new anvils, therefore making it have infinite use.  It is still possible in 1.21.21

What I did: Take one of my 24 'new' anvils, place one in inventory.  Place it down to use.  Fix a bow at 9 cost.  Break anvil back into inventory.  Add anvil back to pile - creating a new 24 stack of anvils.

Hopefully I have added this to the correct place?

I have numbered the images to show the correct order.

The water sounds are unbearably loud in Bedrock edition 1.21.21  They have been for quite some time, but I didn't think of it as a bug until now.  If I turn down other sounds it does not adjust the water.  But if I turn down the main volume then 'everything' is quieter which is annoying.  Could we either turn the water sounds down [particularly the getting in and out of water, which I tend to do a lot of] or add a separate sound button to allow us to control it?  I notice it mostly when collecting clay and working on anything in water, it is the action of going into and out of the water that is the worst.  Thank you

Version 1:21 Win 11 - I respawned the dragon for the first time in my survival world yesterday 30.06.24 and received a second egg!  It completely confused me as I thought you could only get one.  So it is still present in June / July 2024.  I am on Bedrock Win 11.  Picture now added.  I do have a video as it was streamed if required.  Conditions: Placed 4 end crystals down to respawn the dragon for the first time.  After the battle another egg appeared where the first used to be.  I was able to take the egg as per the normal mechanics.  Hold both in my inventory and place both down.

I tried this yesterday in my survival world and my coral died.  I have just checked on a creative world and it only appears to affect the fan varieties.  1.20.40  Screen shot showing waterlogged slabs and the fans die the second they are placed, no delay of being alive and then dying, it is as though you are placing a dead coral straight away.

Hi again, Update - I have just been on someone's Discord and discussing this matter.  They suggested trying the bell sound.  block.bell.hit and it works.  So it seems that some sounds work and others do not.

I am also trying to use the playsound and cannot hear anything as of 05.04.23

/playsound armour.equip_iron @p ~ ~ ~ 1

I have entered this into the command block, I have it on repeat in case I missed it and have tried increasing the volume to 2 to expand the area.  I am standing next to the command block so this should not be required.  The command block states it has played the sound to myself and the chat pours out with played sound to CJSGOOSE, but I cannot hear anything.  I have tried altering my settings in case they were interfering.  I can hear my own block placements, so it shouldn't be an issue if it was.  I really need the sound for a game I am creating.  I am on Windows 10 v 1.19.73.  I also tried the anvil sound, again as before it says it played, but I cannot hear it.

I just tried it in the chat text as well, again, it accepts the command, says it played, yet I hear nothing.  Please help?

I have just tried to do this as this is a feature I really wish to use in my survival non-cheat world.  I went into a creative one and the armour just pops out of the dispenser into a heap on the floor.  I have tried encasing the villager in a dirt box with roof, using a button, and a 2 x 1 with a pressure plate.  Neither work.  I also tried placing the dispenser on the side at feet and head level, also from above the head and below the feet pointing directly towards the villager. Is this a feature that is supposed to work? As I thought it was.  I am in 1.19 Bedrock.  Thank you CJSGOOSE  18.06.22
