MC-220195 Vertical lines appears in the sky when the player is stationary Confirmed MC-218979 Cave ceilings and floors sometimes too flat or blocky Fixed

Comments

Some new information, I just found that it is more likely to appear on horizontal resolution with even value x vertical resolution with odd value and vice versa. Doesn't seem to appear at all when both resolution value have the same odd or even number properties.

Example of resolution it may appear:
1920x1027 (Even x Odd)
1827x748 (Odd x Even)

But it sometimes doesn't appear on certain resolution even with any of both condition met.
FOV is still at 90° or 45°.

@unknown you might want to create a new ticket for that as this ticket specifically pointing out about spruce trees in groves don't generate at all. Whereas, your report is about spruce trees generates less than the bedrock version.

Can confirm for 1.18 Pre-release 1

It seems that they're reduced significantly compared to the early 1.17 snapshots before the update split, IMO. In 1.18 snapshots, I can't seem to find any large exposed aquifers (lake/ocean-like) where we could go boating in it especially in the -y levels. This seems to affect lava aquifers too. Also it's hard to make a comparison between the early 1.17 snapshots and the 1.18 snapshots since the worldgen/seed has been significantly changed in between them.

This is work as intended as Henrik explained in his video.

This is intended, check the updated ore distribution in the changelogs.

I personally do agree some of the edges can be too flat and chunky though.

Azalea trees also seems to appear close to each other in a spot more often compared to the experimental snapshots, so it might be the case.

It's a new feature, work as intended.

Can confirm for 1.17, seems to also appear on a multiple of 45 degree but might be unrelated.

It still appears in 21w20a for me.

I reset the ram allocation back to 2G from 6G just in case but it still occurs. Also attached a recording to show the issue.

Really liked the fix on 21w11a so far. My guess that some of it has to do with aquifers for the floor was right. Although some of the ceilings can still be found flat but it's less common and doesn't bother too much.

Some large flat ceiling can still be found on 21w11a.

I think you're looking at the wrong thing, MC-197561

Can confirm, there's also aquifer generated behind the wall. Might related to MC-218734
