That doesn't mean it shouldn't be fixed.
Are you sure? The bug still says Unresolved and, according to the list of bugs fixed, this is not one of them.
Using DLWJGL_DISABLE_NETWM=true makes it so pressing the Windows key does not bring it out of fullscreen if it doesn't work for you you either did not put a space between the other arguments you have or just plain didn't do it right. That not only fixes the problem for me but makes it so pressing the Windows key does not disrupt gameplay. Perhaps an update to the Minecraft launcher should make it add it automatically. Anyway, it works and fixes the problem. Well, I shouldn't say fix, but it's a pretty dang good workaround, especially since the Windows key does NOTHING during gameplay anymore.
Interesting. Considering that this bug affects Windows and Ubuntu users, I would think this would be the developer's first priority. Also, according to that bug report and https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC-70651, there are all sorts of problems with Minecraft on Linux-based operating systems. I would think this would be the developer's first priority (perhaps they're working on it right now?) because, just taking your word for it, also affects Windows and probably happens on all operating systems. I've yet to test Apple Mac OS X, but when I do I will let you know.
Exact same problem on Ubuntu 14.04 with Unity 3D. Still in Minecraft 1.8.
Same problem. Latest version of OpenJDK on Ubuntu 14.04 64-bit.
I have the exact same problem on Ubuntu 14.04 and Minecraft 1.8. I use Unity 3D (not 2D, meaning I use Compiz). I accidentally press the Super (Windows) key during gameplay, and then I can't see Minecraft anymore. It is clearly still running, but there is not a way to get back to it. I just usually do Ctrl+Alt+F1 to get to the terminal and type killall java. It is very annoying. Perhaps this is a bug in Compiz or your JRE (Java Runtime Environment). I see you use Java 7 Update 65 (there is no such thing as Java 1.7.0.65 so please change it!), but what JRE do you use? OpenJDK or Oracle? This is likely a bug in our JREs or in Compiz. I use OpenJDK and that's probably what you are using. We can only wait for a JRE update or Compiz update. Until then, get into a habit of typing the command sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade -y a lot to get potential updates!
Is he aware that mod is not an official term for moderator? Have a look here: http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/mod and it says that mod is an official abbreviation for moderate, modification, and modulo.
No, it's not just mods! You're wrong. It happens in Mojang's official version of Minecraft. Did you not read Kumasasa's comment above?
Just make it so if the bar has a value of 0 to print OFF instead.
Minecraft, although not recommended, has support for Java 6. It, simply put, should say Java 6. It does work best with Java 8. Also, I should point out that Java 8 is not in beta, but is also not on the Oracle's official Java downloads page. This is because some Java programs (Minecraft is NOT one of them) don't work with Java 8. Any day now, you will be required to update to Java 8. It's best to install it now.
Modded content is not to be discussed on this bug tracker. Also, once you use a mod and have problems with using it you can't report it here. Only report bugs in unmodded versions of Minecraft. I deem this bug report Invalid.
I don't know. The problem in figuring this out is that the bug can be hard to reproduce and, as far, as I know, is a matter of chance.
Guys, it has nothing to do with the resource pack. I have the same problem. It is a Minecraft bug. When I reported it at MC-68534 it was marked as a duplicate of this. It's a bug that happens in plain Minecraft with no resource pack. There's no disputing it. I am a victim of this bug.
The log doesn't show information about the crash, but it does show that your system's connection couldn't keep up, which is strange because you used localhost. That might just be another bug on its own, but the log nor you are giving any information about the crash. When Minecraft crashed, the launcher should have spit out a really big log that is displayed in the launcher, That is what we need.
What do you mean by "obscure floor"?
I would like to point out that even the ground pops out of the screen. However, I do like that more depth has been added. I want 3D to be like what it was in 1.7.10, except with more depth, like in the screenshot, you can see the Creeper pop out a little more than the ground, even though it is really far away. I like that.
Confirmed on Ubuntu 14.04 in Minecraft 1.7.10. I am like 99% sure this affects all operating systems and all Java Runtime Environments, and is a Minecraft bug.
Depends. Does that happen when you use other programs? If yes, then it's normal. If not, file a bug on this Minecraft bug tracker.
No it is not still a problem. It is fixed in Minecraft 1.8.1. When that command is run, it makes the characters <> appear in chat instead of crashing the game, so this bug is now fixed.
