Wdym exactly? If I want to select a version I can only select 1.17.1 or 1.18 and because my bug is in all versions I selected 1.17.1 because the bug also exists there.
Same thing happens on Nintendo Switch. The account that launches Minecraft will have their name show up on a Realm they connect to. A second player will show up as Steve (in name & skin).
I have the same issue, mostly. Split screen works for me in local worlds, but anything else gives me "Split screen unavailable. A second player can't join right now."
Please note that we have Nintendo Switch Online (family plan specifically). Also the microsoft account settings for online play have been set correctly, since each player on their own can play online.
Regarding the /playsound command: I think if the sound event defined in sounds.json is in the category "music", it should stop every other music currently playing, to fix the overlapping. I think this would be the most logical way of preventing overlapping of (custom) music. Even if /playsound only triggers localized sounds, I think there is no case where overlapping is intended, as it sounds just awful.
Its the same on my device and my friends also noticed it btw the bug is also on ios
Sadly that dosent work.
I can confirm this is still an issue on Nintendo Switch too.

I've tested and it does work on Realms. Why?

This is with:
one paired set of joycons and a pro controller;
The latest switch firmware;
The latest MC update (so actually 1.16.1);
On featured servers. Haven't tested realms.
I found that they didn't report that any armor with Respiration or playing on a singeplayerworld whould do that too, and im cinda new too this.
