Strange, PS5 should bleep twice then restart, always worked for me.
Please do not unplug your PS5 while it is in the crashed state this could do further damage, simply hold the power button on front of the PS5 for approximately 30 seconds.
I haven't played Minecraft for over a year now due to this issue and the concern of damaging my PS5.
I doubt this will be fixed.
Had this issue since March.
It's probably not getting fixed at this point.

Steps to reproduce this are as follows;
Play Minecraft Bedrock on PS5, creative or survival doesn't matter.
Eventually the game will freeze also freezing the console, cannot get to PS5 home screen to close game.
Hold PS5 power button approx 30 seconds, PS5 will turn off.
Turn PS5 back on and it will enter a disc repair mode. Go to PS5 settings - system - error history, nothing new is there for Minecraft, error was not logged or reported.
Reload Minecraft game freezes again back to step 1.
This is not a console related issue it is related to the game, the issue is not present in other game titles only Minecraft.
I would expect this issue to be resolved by now as it has been present for me since March 2023.
Instead they keep saying that crashes are logged automatically by the system but that's not true when the system freezes.
This has made Minecraft to risky to play on the PS5 as you risk corruption of your disc drive or worse.

The PS5 doesn't report 'ANYTHING' there is no option too!
Because it freezes the entire console.
Error history states NO errors.

The crash happens during gameplay survival/creative worlds nothing in particular. One occurance was whilst floating around in a creative world another was whilst exploring in survival.
On PS5 no error is given as the console freezes completely so I have to hold the power button for 30 or so seconds then the PS5 does a repair sequence on the storage when resuming power.
Then I check system settings - error history and no new error for minecraft is listed.

As stated before auto save freezing and block lag are separate issues that have been present in the game on all platforms for some time now.
This is purely a PlayStation issue that causes a crash on PS4 (CE-34878-0)
On PS5 no error is given because the console freezes entirely.
And it is definitely still present at least on single or multiplayer survival and creative worlds. We don't have realms to test on.

Just started happening to me after 1.21.30.
Device: Samsung Galaxy S22+
Blocks I've noticed affected so far:
Glass
Beacon
Rails
Portal
Water
Ice
Slime block
