Version 1.7.4 today: Also spotted chicken with egg in Nether more than 200 blocks from nearest portal.
Is this a improperly spawned baby zombie chicken jockey?
I know Zombies and zombie-pigmen sgare some code.

Discovered problem... loaded world in earlier snapshot 13W39b. Stain glass was removed on world load... therefore when reloaded in snapshot 13w42b, the lava was free to flow everywhere.
Not a bug. Works as intended.
Duplicate of 35699. Not just newly enchanted... occurred on all enchanted items after loading in snapshot 13w42a.

I agree Marco... The mystical foggy caves that turned dark as you wandered them was kinda fun.
I cannot remove resource pack to test same (snapshot) profile without my favourite resource pack (32x32).
However I created a new profile using only the default resource pack and it launched the game as expected.
The reasoning behind this, I believe, is to fix the bright light at the far end of giant caves and chasms when one is underground.
Confirmed still present in snapshot 13w39b.
Unfortunately I saved and reloaded the world. Creepers and several ghost dirt blocks were gone on reload.
Problem resolved?
If it repeats I'll do a force crash.
I have encountered this in version 1.5.2. I have not yet entered The Nether in version 1.6+
If a hostile zombie pigman picks-up a dropped item from a player (death) such as armour, they remain hostile (at least 15 minutes later - still angered) and will not despawn (intended behaviour).
I encountered this problem myself.
1] Several textures were renamed to give consistency across similar blocks/items.
To fix: If you look in the folder for the textures you will see both your custom textures and the defaults (with the new names). Simply delete the default, and rename your custom textures (with the new names). eg. "crops_0" is now "wheat_0".
2] The animation for Water and Lava textures needed to be from frame reference 0 not 1.
To fix: Edit the animation detail file adding frame 0, and delete last frame reference #.
The "hit box" for multiple turtle eggs is only on pixel smaller than a full block, so it doesn't take much to be "over top" of them. Is this possibly the reason?
