Hi, the article you linked is about Minecraft Bedrock Edition. You’re right, brown and red mushrooms cannot be placed on any solid block in Java Edition, but I tried on the Bedrock Preview and it works there.

So that’s probably where the confusion comes from, this is not a Java bug.

Hi, so I was really curious because I thought that there was no way Piglin Brutes can get aggravated through blocks, so I tested both in Java and Bedrock. And turns out you’re right, in Java Piglin Brutes need an unobstructed line of sight while in Bedrock they become aggravated even through solid walls (in a 16 block radius).

The Minecraft Wiki page is actually not so clear about this behaviour too (which is why I am wondering if the difference between the versions is intentional). Anyways, I am not sure if this is really a bug, but if it is, I was able to reproduce it on Windows as well. Good catch though!

Hi, I’m sorry this is happening to you, it sounds really frustrating! But triage is most likely going to have issues reproducing this bug. Could you perhaps provide a bit of supporting information?

  • For example, did Minecraft work two weeks ago and what could’ve changed since then?

  • What Windows build are you using? (You can see that by clicking Start → Settings → System and then see the “About” section at the bottom)

  • What GPU and GPU driver version do you have installed?

  • And did you get any crash report logs?

I hope Mojang can help and that you’ll be able to play soon.

Hi, I’ve tried to reproduce your bug and I wasn’t successful. I created a world in 1.21 with commands not allowed and went into a 26.2 instance, upgraded the world, and commands were still turned off. Maybe you can upload a video of your bug or give steps on how to reproduce.

This will most likely be a “working as intended”, here’s a quote from the Minecraft Wiki Rail article:

“In Java Edition, most mobs avoid walking on rails,[2] but they ignore rails when they are already on them. Jumping mobs like slimes, frogs[3], and goats can jump onto rails, but frogs and goats do not walk onto rails.”

Hi, I was able to reproduce the bug you’re reporting but noticed this has been an issue since at least 1.21 so it definitely wasn’t introduced in 26.3-pre-1

Hi, I was able to reproduce this bug on 26.3-pre-1 as well.

Hi, I can’t reproduce the bug you are describing. Could you upload a video of the issue you’re having?

That’s weird. As AgnSle suggested, a video of the issue would be great so one can better understand how this issue came to be.

Hi, I couldn’t replicate your bug on Vanilla 26.2. Did you do anything else or could you elaborate on how the situation happened?
