This appears to have something to do with Xbox Game Bar. Manually uninstalling it (I don't recommend this as you can no longer accept world invites without it), the Xbox app (I'm not sure if the Xbox app is related or not), and a few extra Xbox components, then rebooting, fixed the issue.

This happens to me on 1.20.81 on the CubeCraft featured server.

Did you restart the game after plugging in your headphones? I've had issues with Minecraft Java in the past where it would not switch audio devices, and in some cases, it would stop playing audio altogether, until a game restart.

Close this issue - it somehow got posted twice.

Other issue: MCPE-170950

Note that this issue also occurred on my old desktop. Here are the specs of that PC:

Intel Core i7-10700

48GB RAM

3 DIFFERENT GPUS:

-NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060

-AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT

-AMD Radeon RX 6650 XT

You can close this. It has been over a year since I have had that glitch, so I cannot attach a crash report. Also, I have not experienced this issue again in the past 14 months.

@Dhranios it was Dinnerbone's comment on MC-83239.

Duplicate of MC-255330. Also invalid because the server is modded.

Did you change the Minecraft directory before your PC crashed? There used to be a bug with the launcher where it would reset the directory after Minecraft was launched.

Invalid due to modded client. If you can reproduce in vanilla, then this issue will be considered.

Works as intended. The sound event is empty.

Try replacing the "\u00A7"s with section signs (§) in the LAN world.
