MCPE-160083 Character Creator Skins Show Steves When Using a Custom Resource Pack Duplicate

Comments

Glad I found this report, just ran into the issue in 1.20.0 while making charged creepers for mob heads. You can imagine how that went. The bug works exactly as described above, including swapping away from the trident while charging to fix it. Thanks @TranAran

Voted.

Game breaking bug, the cursor does not match the block placement location while crouching now, making it somewhat impossible to build with slabs and stairs.

Wait, is MCPE-55815 not just a duplicate of this? That one isn't marked as fixed. Found this from the patch notes, but have been following the other report. Will have to see if I continue to encounter the issue.

Items get stuck in my inventory screen or hotbar often when shift clicking out of chests or crafting multiple stacks on windows 10. Only happens when shift clicking for me, and is very inconsistent. Requires me to close and reopen my inventory to clear the issue.

@Rqbby
This isn't a duplicate of MCPE-32089.
If you read the issue, this is a description of inventory resetting to an empty state when joining a multiplayer game after changing your skin.
May be a duplicate of MCPE-55815, or it may be a separate issue. I made a comment on that thread and I seem to be the only one noticing that it is related to skins. Changing player skins causes the multiplayer host to not recognize the player as the same player from the previous gameplay session. Changing skins creates a new separate instance of a player in the game, when a player should always be the same even if their skin changes.

Multiplayer session hosted on Windows 10, other user on Switch. Happens frequently, but on the last occasion, on 1.19.63, same world, we had a small insight that might be a coincidence or might not.

When the other player spawned in empty, we decided we wouldn't bother with trying to reset and just went ahead playing anyway. Had a brief power outage so we were forced to connect again. When we came back, they had the original inventory again. Disconnect again, come back, and they have the inventory they were playing with short term. I know in Java, save files have player.dat files that store info about player inventory, health, etc. It seems like they have two files running in parallel, one from the original sessions, and one from the short session, with different inventories and locations. Like some kind of alternate universe it would seemingly randomly pick one or the other to load for the switch player from the host.

We were resetting trying to get it to load the correct inventory, when they randomly thought to change their skin back to an older one they had used when we played before, and it loaded the correct inventory. Is there some player ID system in place that helps to load inventory from the save file in multiplayer that is affected by a player's skin? Or is it merely coincidence? would upload but world exceeds max upload size.

edit: tested again, happens to host as well, definitely linked to skin changing!

edit 2: MCPE-48606 seems to be a description of this bug, as related to skin changing. However it was incorrectly marked as a duplicate of an unrelated issue, seemingly based on a quick skim. Based on accounts of pets no longer recognizing owners, I believe that changing your skin causes the multiplayer host to not recognize you as the same user from the last session.

Haven't been able to connect a switch to PC at all on 1.19.51, mostly functional on earlier versions. Major dealbreaker bug.

Spotted this during a singleplayer session. I often host multiplayer sessions on this world, but not as a server. Windows 10 Version 1.19.10

Very frustrating. Just happened to me in 1.19.10. Axolotls despawned from a pond I had built for them. Bedrock version, was hosting a LAN session from this PC with a Switch. Logged in, loaded and unloaded the area several times using a nether portal, then noticed the pond was entirely empty. Axolotls were not nametagged, but had all been moved via bucket. The very edge of the enclosure was on a chunk border.

I’ve also noticed cats wandering very far from villages.
