Previous to the recent update I was able to right click and hold to continually place blocks at speed - The faster I moved, the faster the blocks placed (this was awesome) This also included placing blocks vertically up and down. I'm no longer able to do any of these actions and instead have to right click on each block to place it, causing my build times to increase significantly.
I have searched the bugs list and the forums and cannot find a similar issue.
Many thanks

I know this may be a problem for you, but it's a bug fix for others. Depending on the device, there was some input lag where a single tap would place more than one block, which was undesired. It is my assumption that this was implemented to help with this problem. Again, this was dependent on the device whether or not the bug occurred. I know you want this feature back, but for some of us, it's a change for the better.
This does appear to be a bug. The quick placement issue has been fixed, but things we have always been able to do no longer work. This also affects crouching and placing blocks (bridges over lava are scary as it is) and placing gravity blocks (draining a monument is takin forever).

I too have noticed that placing blocks in crouch mode is now very hit and miss but seems more to do with the required placement location being incorrect. E.g just starting a bridge it would sooner place on blocks near you rather than place on the block you are crouched on - if that makes sense. This must surely be linked to the other problems with breaking blocks in that you can no longer multiple break TNT, vines, crops etc.
Depending on the lag in my realm, clicking and holding will skip blocks, sometimes every other blocks. This has made building big structures a tiring and taxing "one-potato, two-potato" affair.
Please refer to MCPE-35857 for the issue with planting crops continuously.
