Non rectangular hitboxes have inaccurate outlines

Stairs can only be mined while pointing at the actual block (i.e. you can hit through the empty space).

However, when you point at the block with outline selection turned on, the wireframe outline is that of a full block, and includes the area that can't be targeted.

Affects these blocks (may be incomplete):

  • Stairs

  • Extended piston heads

  • Scaffolding

  • Hopper

  • Glow Lichen

Other blocks have an accurate wireframe that shows the true hitbox.

Effects 1.14.60.

It also affects hoppers in the beta, because they changed the hitbox of hoppers. It seems like the outline for the hitbox can only show as a cuboid and not in other shapes this causes the outline to not match the hitbox of the block. This also was the case on java edition, but it got changed in 1.13. They haven’t taken over this change to bedrock edition. It affects the following blocks (list may be incomplete):
stairs
hoppers in the beta
the piston head

Missing 1.16.0.

And Chests also have the wrong Hit Box

Affects 1.16.210
