The Resolution setting doesn't work with World on Realms

Overview

When using the resource pack ZigZag I purchased from the Minecraft Marketplace in my world on Realms, I am unable to change the resolution slider from 128x for the resource pack. Changing the resolution slider to 64x or 32x is not honored in my world in Realms. It stays stuck at 128x. The ZigZag resolution slider works fine with local worlds. Steps are below:

Steps to re-create

A. World on Realms (slider doesn't work)

Launch Minecraft
Select Play
Under the Realms section, select the Edit button for your world with ZigZag enabled in Realms
Select the Active World for the Realm (should have a green checkbox in the tile)
Select the Edit World Button
Under Add-Ons, select the Resource Packs button
Select Active
Select ZigZag
Select Settings (gear icon)
In the ZigZag settings window grab the Resolution slider and move it to 64x or 32x (see image ZigZagSettings_Part 01.png)
Select the x icon to close the settings window
Select Back (looks like a "<")
Select Play
Once game loads, notice that the graphics don't look any different (see image ZigZagSettings_Part 02.png)
Press Escape
Select Save & Quit
Select the Edit button for your world with ZigZag enabled in Realms
Select the Edit World Button
Under Add-Ons, select the Resource Packs button
Select Active
Select ZigZag
Select Settings (gear icon)
The setting has reverted back to 128x (see image ZigZagSettings_Part 03.png)
Slider is not working as intended

B. World Saved Locally (slider works)

Launch Minecraft
Select Play
Under the Worlds section, select the Edit button for your world with ZigZag enabled
Under Add-Ons, select the Resource Packs button
Select Active
Select ZigZag
Select Settings (gear icon)
In the ZigZag settings window grab the Resolution slider and move it to 64x or 32x (see image ZigZagSettings_Part 04.png)
Select the x icon to close the settings window
Select Back (looks like a "<")
Select Play
Once game loads, notice that the graphics do look different (see image ZigZagSettings_Part 05.png and then compare to ZigZagSettings_Part 02.png)
Press Escape
Select Save & Quit
Select the Edit button for your world with ZigZag enabled
Select the Edit World Button
Under Add-Ons, select the Resource Packs button
Select Active
Select ZigZag
Select Settings (gear icon)
The setting is still set to 64x or 32x (see image ZigZagSettings_Part 02.png)
Slider works as intended

This only impacts ZigZag. No other resource packs or add-ons are enabled when this issue occurs.

I also checked by removing all resource packs and then enabling another one I have called Jolicraft HD (pack version 1.0.8). It has options for 128, 64 and 16. When I switched it to 16, there was no change when I logged into my world in Realms. When I quit and checked the setting for Jolicraft it had been reset to 128. So for at least 2 different packs this issue persists in realms.

The issue still occurs in version 1.19.41. I also noticed that as soon as I make the change and select the the back arrow to go back out to start playing the world in Realms....if I go back into the resource packs and look at the setting again, there are defaulted back to 128x. So realms isn't storing the setting for the resource pack.

It would be good if someone responded, so I know this is being worked on or not.

The issue still occurs in version 1.19.73. I recently bought Actions & Stuff and paired it with Conquest Textures. When I move the resolution slider to work with custom textures, it works fine in a local world and I have no issues. But in realms the slider keeps going back to default settings. I hope this gets fixed soon.

This is still an ongoing issue. The resolution slider doesn’t work for the “Action and Stuff” resource pack on realms. It’s stuck on the default 16x resolution which prevents Minecraft players from using the animations on vanilla and custom textures. Has any progress been made on this issue? Users on r/realms have also noted this issue as well.

Legit very annoyed. I bought this pack. Worked on my world and now doesn’t work on realms. I doubt I will buy any other stuff from market place because the add ons just stop you from earning achievements and the features of these packs that should work, in fact, do not work smh

I just want animations from actions & stuff pack. I spesifically got realms to be able to play it with my friends. Now this bug made realms obsolete for me. I can just use aternos or squadnox etc. for free instead.

Its very annoying, i bought a realm so me and my friends can plag with good texture packs. Instead of good textures i walk around like i am in a cartoon when playing with actions and stuff!

Not using the same resource pack as OP, but encountering basically the same issue (and I have too in the past). In my case, the subpack sliders does not even show when opening the resource pack within the realm. Downloading de realm, changing the world_resource_packs.json and replacing the realm again does not resolve this, the resource pack goes back to its original setting. Everywhere else, the resourcepack works fine, this is deifinitely a realm issue, which needs to be addressed.

I'm following this issue and waiting to purchase a realm until this is solved. I’ve purchased Actions&Stuff and it seems I can’t enjoy the purchase until this is fixed.

We shipped a service side fix for this today. Subpacks should now be working properly on Realms 🙂

One small caveat to that is that restoring from a backup will result in the subpack selection resetting to the default value. We are working on some changes to our backup system which will allow us to persist this data with backups properly which will fix this small issue.
