As of 0245 GMT 14 August 2024 I was unable to access anything related to Minecraft for Windows. This includes realms or the ability to start or play worlds on my computers. I am able to start and play Java worlds. I am playing from the United States of America.

Yes. This is a duplicate of MC-157812. I only report bugs that I find. The interface is different from the last time I was here and I had to add 2FA. I normally try to search for similar bugs to avoid duplication. Can confirm it still exists for 1.18.1 though.

This seems to be related to an older bug which was marked resolved: MC-209289

I just witnessed this happen on mine. It is a 1.16 world but I removed chunks and regenerated with 1.17. I used a pickaxe to remove the rail underneath the minecart and then TWO chest minecarts separated. Their contents are identical. See screenshots.

I noticed the same thing when trying to craft a jack-o-lantern. I had the carved pumpkin in my crafting grid and torches in my offhand. I will ADD that once I placed a torch in the crafting grid the jack-o-lantern recipe appeared in the book. So the contents of the crafting grid are counted toward recipes but not the offhand.

Questioning whether this is the bug I'm experiencing in Minecraft 1.14.1. If I pause the game and return to it some of the sounds (walking on grass, breaking blocks, harvesting berries) become way louder. Moving the main slider doesn't fix this although some sounds do obey the slider.

I should clarify that I am finding maps in shipwreck and submerged village chests in 18w19b rather than purchasing from a cartographer. Map seed is 387808623 if it matters. I'm using creative mode to explore the new snapshot content.

Please rethink this functionality. Make each treasure map generate independently of all previously generated treasure maps.

I believe that what players "expect" to happen is that each map goes to a different location. So rather than requiring players to get a treasure map and then go find that treasure one at a time, players would like to collect several and then go on a treasure run.

Furthermore, in the activity of searching for one treasure they may come across another chest. But they may not want to open it (since loot is generated upon opening) so that any treasure map therein spawned is not a duplicate.

Is the above intended gameplay? It is decidedly a less-than-fun result so I doubt it. So "Works as intended" may be accurate but may also lead to much less fun. I also fail to see how this functionality could possibly work on servers with multiple players without players running into some of these odd circumstances. I think each treasure map should simply generate independently.

Having the same issue, "slain by " spider, creeper, skeleton, zombie - all around the nether portal in the nether side. The enemies aren't there and you can't attack them but you get damaged until you die and then you see the cause.

Except, that bug report is for minecraft 1.4

I wasn't having this issue with 1.8, 1.8.2, it started with 1.8.3

Therefore, it's a new bug report. Not a dupe from when the game was 4 versions back.

Re: Markku

Consistency is overrated in the world of Minecraft though new features and functionality are not. The Mojang way of doing things has always been to implement new and unique behaviors for each addition to the game to maintain variety. This situation certainly seems to qualify - a way to build using snow that doesn't connect with fencing. So, while I understand the elegance of your solution, I suggest your comment be rephrased as a feature request and posted in the appropriate place rather than continue it here. I think there would be strong support for the ability to connect/disconnect fencing to neighboring blocks. A simple right-click per fence post with the default being connected should be easy to implement.

I think the simplest solution for the problem in this thread would be to eliminate the 8-layered snow block all together. Instead, when a 7-layered snow block is left-clicked with a snow layer, the 7-layer block should be replaced with a full snow block. This would eliminate the problem in the first place since fencing already connects correctly to normal snow blocks.

Just my opinion, but I like having the option to have non-connecting snowblocks that otherwise look identical to regular snowblocks. Perhaps this should be kept as a feature for mapmakers rather than labeled as a bug. Because anyplace you could use 8 snow layers as a solid block, a regular solid block will do just as well.

Zombie Pigmen share code with regular Zombies so this isn't surprising. Maybe this is intended behavior?

Regardless, it probably doesn't work with ALL zombie pigmen. DB changed the code for zombies breaking down doors a while back. Now, only a percentage of zombies can do this whereas when first implemented all zombies could.

Can be seen in a recent Generikb video on youtube.

Chest issue at 7:15 in the video. Also affects mob rendering at 8:05.

I suspect that chests/mob heads are being incorrectly rotated and rendered that way. (North/South, 90 degrees, something like that)

Not sure if this is a bug or intentional but it has always been this way AFAIK since two-block tall grass and flowers were added.

Personally, I would like for the top half to also drop seeds. For consistency.

Probably a duplicate of, or related to, MC-62586

Where is the hitbox? If it's directly on the piston then this is a graphical bug only.

Another very recent bug affected iron trapdoors that were rendered on the wrong side of blocks.

Ice blocks over air disappear when broken. That is a feature, not a bug. Only ice blocks directly over other blocks will convert to water blocks (or drop as ice blocks when using silk touch).

The breaking glass sound effect was also added at some point.

Otherwise, I concur with Galaxy_2Alex: check the biome.
