Whenever logging into Minecraft on my Switch it doesn’t let me access any servers or access any transactions and tells me to restart my game (restarting doesn’t work) and upon re-logging into my Microsoft account nothing changes in-fact relogging into my Microsoft account causes realms to crash as well. My internet connection is fine and I have switch online however my Minecraft does not let me log into any servers or access marketplace. This is after the latest patch.

Experiencing same issue. Fetching realms shows and then it says can't be reached. Also cannot connect to other friends single player non-realm world. Have even tried redownloading the game. This happened with latest update.
Edit: Just wanted to add I did update and was able to get in to the realm at first, played for maybe a half hour, but then my friend called to join. They couldn't get in, so I went into settings to check realm invites and that's where it froze. When I closed the game and loaded back that's when everything wasn't working

You may experience intermittent failures or slowdowns connecting to Realms. We are actively working to resolve this. -DK

When can we expect this to be resolved? My realms have shown twice and this is the message...just keeps fetching until it says it's unable to connect. Once....I was able to manage and edit the realm and download one of my recent backups, I tested the world download on my private server and it works fine. I use realms so my son and his friends can play on consoles since most of them do not know how to setup a custom server but I think I'll need to help them get on my custom server and avoid these realms issues.

The Realms service is starting to recover. You should now be able to see, manage, and play on your Realm. You may experience slightly longer than normal load times and/or occasional failures while we are recovering. Thank you for your patience as we continue working through this.

I'm having the same issue aswell, my connection is fine, but I can hardly play Minecraft now since I can't access Achievments, Marketplace, Realms, Realms Stories, and other things. I have had to wait 5 minutes for Realms to load.

I don't have Realms, but I'm having trouble opening the Marketplace on Switch, but for some reason I can open it on PC and Android. Additionally, the DLC you own is now locked.

This seems more of an issue on Nintendo Switch.

I'm still experiencing this issue on the Switch console.

This happens on all platforms, not just mobile.

I can see my Realm after 5 minutes of waiting, I can definitely NOT manage it, and I can not play on it either. I have done several attempts, and the game always says, 'Unable to connect to Realm'. This is becoming a serious bug on Bedrock today, and needs to be fixed ASAP. I personally would suggest that you could release a Hotfix tomorrow asap to fix this bug. I also cannot access the Marketplace!

I am playing in Minecraft Bedrock Edition v1.21.20 and the area where they load your realm will look like an empty gray rectangle for almost 15 minutes. Then the "Fetching Realms" will appear and kept on loading for another 20 minutes. Once my realm is available, when I select it to enter, my game client crashes. No error is prompted, it just suddenly close. Normally, from booting up the game to signing in to fetching realm to entering my realm does not take more than 5 minutes.

I mean this is the most neutral way but do you have an SDLC and what is the update rollout strategy - one big bang or in phases? If updates to production are breaking (and people paying for the service cannot use it), usually means the testing and staging environments are not mirroring production. Couldn't you just roll back the update from yesterday, fix the testing environment and then re-release the update when ready? There are countless examples of this exact issue occurring over and over...pushing out updates breaking user experience which then requires break-fixes, not the most ideal way to provide a service...

We are aware of and have been continuing to work on the ongoing Realms service connection errors and long load times. A client hotfix will be on its way soon to help address the issue as well. -DK

@sixtenvertigus Reverting the update is a very bad idea because more than a solution, it is digging over the same ground, this is not a temporary solution to the problem, there could be many things that are causing this, it could be from a bad configuration of ports or ddns or even a ddos attack and they can't counteract it, either way this didn't happen in the previews, but Mojang will know what they are doing in the realms, what they do have to do is give explanations, compensate and apologize for this problem, please comment things that can contribute to knowing what is really going on, this is a bug site, not a social network

My Realm is now appearing but I doubt it will let me onto it. All I am now experiencing is long load times.

As of 0245 GMT 14 August 2024 I was unable to access anything related to Minecraft for Windows. This includes realms or the ability to start or play worlds on my computers. I am able to start and play Java worlds. I am playing from the United States of America.

Basically yesterday morning (BST), everything that required an account was down.
Now, it's just Realms that has the problem. Mojang are working as hard as they can to solve the problem, it's probably their main priority.

I can confirm that the issue is still affecting (at least) PC via Windows 11, and Apple iPad.

The Realms team is working around the clock to resolve the Bedrock Realms service issues. We understand that many players are still unable to play on their Realms at this time. We want to get you all back playing on your Realms as soon as possible. -DK

I don’t know if this has been solved yet, but my realms have either been appearing non-existent, or will load to only 8.5 hotdogs and get stuck and give me an error like the images here. I also got short access to my friend’s realm late last night stuck on 9.5 hearts do to this crash, but my realm wouldn’t load at all.

When loading the friends page while on Windows 10, the Xbox API recognizes the server and request and displays their server to me, though when attempting to connect via the join button, no packets are sent to the server. I can, however join the server directly via the IP address and port.

I have restarted my PC twice - waited 5 minutes before turning it back on, updated my pc, re-installed Minecraft onto my pc, and reset my router - and I am still unable to join my friend's realm.

Can confirm it is also broken in 1.21.2 (I haven't updated on my phone yet because I just got back from a trip). Behaves the same way on my phone in 1.21.2 as it does in 1.21.21 on my laptop.
So basically realms is likely the full problem, I don't know how relevant the prior version before everything broke is but I guess this could be helpful.

I haven't been able to access realms for 4 days now. At one point I was able to access the settings page fro the realm and I noticed the latest backups have higher versions of 1.21.3 and that my phone, pc and chromebook are all running 1.21.2.
1.21.3 is not available for client devices is this part of the issue or does realms follow a different version scheme?

What if the problem isn't the version like its not the version it's like this on v1.21.21 and v1.21.20. rolling back the update will do nothing it obviously something other then the version we just have to wait for the hotfix, then hopefully the problem is fixed so stop bugging the mojang employees who are hoping to get the problem fixed same as you.

I'm gonna +1 to this despite the claim that "Realms service is back up and running"... It's been down for the last couple of days and is still currently down. I can't manage it from console or even through minecraft.net. With this lack of communication I can't wait till it's back up so I can cancel my subscription.

Our Realm isn't accessible too since some days. We can't access from Xbox, Switch and Android. It is also not possible to download a backup for offline access. Every attempt to enter the Realm does create a new Backup so that the backup from our last access is moving more and more to the end of the list. We do worry that all those new backup might be corrupted and the world is lost. So it 's very important to be able to download the last working backup! Thanks

In addition to the screenshots everyone is seeing, I am getting an error on the MC Launcher for PC when clicking Realms. The upload attachment is giving me an internal error to contact the administrator so I'm unable to provide an example.

You need you to fix the realm services in north America because no one in North America can play. I'm trying to be patient but it's hard when we pay money but we STILL don't have access to realms.

After yesterday’s announcement that the Realms service was healthy again, we saw connectivity issues and latency increase. We have continued working around the clock to mitigate the issue, and are doing everything we can to get your Realms back up and running.-DK

It is not just Realms that is affected, but also hosted worlds for friends to join (the joinable friends section under the friends tab). Me (on Windows) and my friend (on Nintendo Switch) both see the same gray box/fetching realms that is shown in several of the other screenshots on this report, and most of the time, neither of us are able to see or join the other person's world.

Is this not a conflict between the software the realms use and the deletion of the pdb file?
If this is the case, you may have to manually make changes to the realms, hopefully you won't have to rewrite and create the service again.

By the way, this is not the only problem; on the Switch version, the Marketplace was able to load normally around 8:00 AM on August 15th EDT time, but after this time the Marketplace could no longer be loaded, and the DLC purchased was also locked. . I was able to open the DLC normally on my smartphone and PC. In addition,
I tried to upload a screenshot to the reporting site, but an internal error occurred and I can't upload it.

Realms and Friends still not working for iPad. I still have the 0 friends and fetching realms. EST time. Servers & marketplace are working for me. I was able to log in for a short period of time yesterday, then I clicked to see who was online in the realm and I got disconnected from the game.

Reminder, just because you get access to your realm for a minute does not mean this crash is still happening, especially because this is now worldwide.

Realms was working around 8:00~9:30am EST and stopped working until 12:00pm. As of current, only I am able to see the Realm server (as a member, not owner) and the owner of the Realm is still unable to view the Realm server. I can't be sure if this is an internet connectivity issue, but Realms is currently working for me. The game crashes when I open Realms Stories.
Additionally, the game prompts the player to opt-in to use Realms Stories even after already accepting the prompt prior. This may be directly related to the Realms issue!

It's the 5ft day totally shut down, I've never seen anything like it on a payed service. I already cancelled my subscription, it is beyond any doubt that you do not care. I'm at Mexico, there's hasn't been service at all since the outage started. Unbelievable.

Just confirming, could this issue be impacting non Realm users also? Accessing a non realm, hosted Minecraft server still presents issues as bedrock user so just want to confirm (note, this is across multiple servers and confirmed).

this issue is still not resolved - I own 2 realms (and am paying for), and cannot access either, for almost a week now. I cannot access anyone elses realms either.
*Edited to add - not sure if its relevant at all, but the one time I was able to get on, I noticed that locator maps werent working either - so myself and other players were not showing up on the locator map.

I am playing with my kids and have 3 devices (2 Windows PCs and 1 iPhone), one next to anoher, in the same WiFi network. 1 PC and the iPhone can connect to my Realm, but the second PC shows "Fetching Reals..." forever.

We are still hard at work to bring Realms back online for all players. As of now roughly 70% of players should have access. As part of this work we have had to block traffic to Realms on 1.21.20 on all platforms other than Switch (until Switch gets the hotfix). -DK

The realm player count is inaccurate. Both players are playing in the realm I am trying to join. When I click on one player, it says realm is full, when I click on the other player it says “failed attempting to join realm”. The realm is not full. I just really would like to play in the realm. From mojang poll on X its not 70% that can get on realms. The "30%" that cant get on is more like "74%" that cant get on. This is day 4 of not getting on realms.. I dont care if servers go down for 2hrs, if im paying for something yall need to make sure it's up to par and working.. A compensation is required and a free month at this rate. August 19 and still no dice.
At the rate we're going, Realms won't come back until Minecraft 1.22 is released next year.
Can we at least get the level.dat files for our worlds so we can access them via singleplayer mode while we wait for a fix?
Also why does an issue this bad have nobody assigned to it?

I hate this but I'm relieved a bit to know its not just me. It was happening for a day or say, then I was able to play for a an hour or so one morning, looted a tricky trial then got booted. took a good 30 min to log back in, where the it didnt save the progress and I played maybe 5 min and that was last time I seen my world.

Not sure if this is relevant or helpful but I normally load MC bedrock straight from the game icon and decided to install the 'Bedrock & Java edition' launcher from Microsoft store, and when I select 'Minecraft for Windows & Realms, it immediately notifies me in the top right of the screen, of a network issue or system failure which doesn't appear when in game (See attached image) ... Is this something our end that can be rectified?

@108CAM The level.dat files are not your world, this file only contains the configuration and some extra things that are necessary to be able to play the worlds, for example it contains the seed, if friendly fire, creative or survival mode is activated, if achievements can be unlocked in the world, etc.

I have a realm created from my pc account and my pc can join the realm. It still doesn't work on my Xbox, it tells me it's recovering realms, but no matter how much time passes it doesn't recover any realms, please fix this problem.

My Realm is back online!! Still have issues with my skin but I’d take a broken skin over a broken Realm any day.
Flew around to refresh and check the generated chunks for any issues and my world is exactly as I left it, resource and behaviour packs intact too!
Hopefully it doesn’t crash again. Fingers Crossed!
BTW I'm in Australia and running 1.21.21 on both my iPad and Laptop

During the extended outage, my realm was due for auto-renewal. iTunes says I have a current active subscription. My realm says it is expired and offers the opportunity to take out a second subscription for the same realm.
It appears that the subscription was collected BUT not applied so the realm is expired.

Basically only Realm Owners (like me) have this problem (I haven't been on Minecraft for last 6 days although, I don't know if it still occurs for me)
Does this only affect Realm Owners in a certain country/continent? My Realm was working a week ago. (Btw I'm in UK)
