Also, apologies, it doesn't happen with iron bars. Original description updated.
IIRC I only waited about 20-30 seconds. The next time I encounter it I will wait longer and report back. I don't know when that will be, I'll see if I can set up a scenario in creative mode or something.
It happens with the "Feel The Nether" skin (in "body", not tops -> outerwears) even with no other animated clothing. This skin comes from an achievement and is a stock skin. No other experiments or packs are enabled. 1.51 Bedrock, Windows.
I've confirmed that changing to any other skin restores the left arm. I've also confirmed that the left arm is still drawn in the character inventory screen. The only other character appearance item I'm wearing in the attached screenshot is a shirt.
Steps:
Equip the "Feel The Nether" skin (unlocked by the nether portal building achievement)
Equip something in the off-hand slot.
Expected: Left hand rendered in first person view.
Actual: No left hand visible in first person view.
It happens in survival mode with the Feel The Nether skin (which is animated) even when no animated clothes are being worn, on 1.51 Bedrock Windows.
I also ate nothing but dried kelp for four game days and did not unlock the achievement. Survival, Easy Mode, slept in bed through game nights, Bedrock 1.51, Windows.
I'm not sure this bug is correct on 1.51 (Windows 10). I recently filed a duplicate as well but:
Checking the achievements in game shows that the Renewable Energy achievement was indeed earned. However, the notification (through the XBox Game Bar on Windows) never appeared. So it looks like the achievement works but the notification doesn't.
I've filed a more specific report at https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MCPE-166402.
@v-magwar Yes it is still an issue in the current version, MCPE-166376
Also, possibly related? MCPE-166377
Also MCPE-163107
Did you ever figure out how to contact the creator? I have the same issue on Windows, Bedrock.
Writing "AHHHH!!" yields the text "###########".
Here is all I know about it, if it's helpful; it's just a copy of a duplicate report I filed earlier today. Some of this might not be right:
Sometimes, when a named map is placed in a chest, returning to the chest later shows the map name as "Unknown Map".
I am yet unable to determine the steps to reproduce this consistently, however here is what I know (or think I know):
The name is not permanently changed; it returns to its correct name when the map is moved into inventory. Also, the map contents are not lost, no issue there.
The name is always displayed correctly when initially dropped into the chest. It is only when returning to the chest later that it changes to "Unknown Map".
It doesn't happen to every map, sometimes it only happens to a few maps in a chest. It seems related to whether the map is in use or not. In particular, I've seen the following so far:
I've never seen it happen to a map with a clone in my inventory.
I've never seen it happen to a map with a clone in an item frame near the chest.
I've seen it happen to a map with no clones outside the chest.
I've seen it happen to a map with a clone in an item frame that was in a far away chunk from the chest.
It doesn't happen immediately. Sometimes returning to the chest shows the correct name, then later it changes to "Unknown Map". So it might be related to distance walked from the chest - I tend to notice it after returning from a long journey. Otoh it could be related to quitting the game and returning. Unable to determine yet.
I've never seen it correct itself on its own, it always requires moving the map back into inventory.
The consequence is it is very difficult to determine which map you are removing from a chest. In cases where multiple maps are affected, including the one you are looking for, you must move each map to your inventory in turn to see its name in order to find the one you want. It is not a major consequence, but it is inconvenient.
I will post here if I notice anything else.
I don't see how this is a duplicate. This isn't about split screen.
