This is a REALMS issue that may have been solved in the last patch, so please try to download/install the update if you can.

 

REALMS-4332 "Cannot connect to store" Realms purchase issue (solved with last patch)

REALMS-474 Can't upload/replace realm (solved with last patch for some - still problems with Nintendo Switch and other mobile devices)

REALMS-3620 "Sorry we couldn't create your realm right now" error message (solved with last patch for some)

 

Scenario 1:  Realm purchase successful but with occasional bugs/glitches...

There are still some issues with realms not saving or updating, or not uploading properly (only the seed uploads, but not any of the player actions/built structures, etc.). Allegedly there is a new patch in the works, 1.6.2 mentioned by a moderator from a different ticket, but there is no official notice nor release date as of yet.

 

Scenario 2: Realm purchase successful but unable to access whatsoever...

There have been complains from some that Mojang allegedly isn't giving refunds nor billing adjustments, depending on the situation; however, you could also reach out to the store of purchase (example: Microsoft Store support for Minecraft Windows 10). I've heard that some people were able to get a 1 month refund/credit/adjustment this way, although this is not guaranteed.

 

My advice is if realms doesn't work after purchase, try all the steps and workarounds from the other tickets, but reach out to billing support ASAP. I hope this helps. Good luck! 😃

The v1.16.1 hotfix seemed to solve my issue. Am able to purchase realms again and upload/replace world. Windows 10 19041 BE v.1.16.1. Not sure if this fixes the "purchase successful but unable to create realm" issue, though.

Recent patch seems to work. Windows 10 19041 BE v1.16.1. I was finally able to buy a new realm and upload/replace world today.

Patch finally worked for me. Maybe stepped rollout for each version/system? I was able to purchase a new realm plus subscription and upload/replace world. Friends can join again, too. Windows 10 19041 BE v1.16.1. DAT NETHER. spongebobbreathein.gif BOI.

The workarounds and patch still aren't working for me. Hopefully, soon. I need dat Nether boi!

Same. Realm expired in April, tried to renew (need dat Nether boi) but got "store connection lost" message. Same with trying to buy a new realm, download backup, delete, upload/replace. Still stuck at "store connection lost" message. Checked my network, anti-virus, and Xbox app settings. Seems like realms has been broken since April/May. Many tickets, such duplicate. Not sure if low priority issue or huge complicated issue. Windows 10 19041 BE v1.16.

Side comment - can't purchase realms from the Windows app either. Is this a related issue? Thank you for reading. 🙂

Also got "store connection lost" message. Unable to renew realm plus (was expired in April) or buy new realm.

Thought I saw a light bulb message "purchased on another computer" but I'm using same computer.

It went away after I deleted my old realm - read somewhere that a possible workaround was to download backup, delete (expired) realm, purchase new subscription, upload/replace from backup. Didn't get past "store connection lost".
