[MC-33141] Rain does not stop

I am creating a new issue for this because all the issues I found for this, and there are many, are all listed as resolved via workaround.

This is not resolved in 13w39b

I initially experienced this issue after upgrade to 13w39a. Rain would not stop, and did not respond to weather commands.

For a day, the issue went away. During this time it rained occasionally and then I was able to clear it with /weather clear.

Now the problem is back, it is raining and the rain does not respond to /weather clear or the toggle command.

Cannot recreate this issue, it is not a predictable problem. At some times the weather will respond to commands, and at others it will not and will be stuck until the server is stopped and reloaded.

I can confirm this issue.in 13w39b, also /weather clear is not working. I'm in SinglePlayer. When I go to main menu and the load the world again, the rain stops.

As I noted in MC-32671: My experience was that the bug is triggered specifically by saving and reloading while it is raining. The workaround to fix it is to wait until it "should have stopped" (been raining more than a day or night, or you see zombies burning in the rain), then save and exit not just the game, but the program (Minecraft, and if needed, the launcher). It might work to use /weather clear and then exit.

I confirm now that rain still persists on the inCRAFTion.com snapshot server I administrate.

I am frustrated that the mods in here that mark tickets as "resolved//duplicate" fail to actually state the solution, or link in the master ticket that the marked ticket is "duplicating". I would not do that if I was moderating this forum, as it only fractures the conversation to solve these issues and can generate even more duplicate "Not resolved" tickets.

I see this too. As another symptom I note the sun appearing in brief flashes once the rain shoud have stopped.

I was on a server and someoe commented they thought they'd have a seizure because of the flicker caused by the sun/rain flashing so quickly. It is pretty bad.

Seems as though the rain HAS stopped, but the game hasn't realized it and it is just a graphical glitch. I have seen zombies burning in the rain.

Hmm ... so you think the game simply fails to change the visual weather effects sometimes? Is the rain sound still playing or is it really a pure "graphical glitch" as you say?

Ok, so it's not only a graphical glitch, the game fails to deactivate all weather effects (including sounds), good to know. Would be interesting what exactly triggers this bug, I'm not able to reproduce it on my side (the weather clear command works fine for me all the time) but it happens randomly to many other people. This needs some testing ...

I was having the same issue, I did weather clear and then restarted the server and it came back sunny, and weather seems to be functioning correct now.

I believe the issue can be repeated if you leave a server on for some amount of time between 3 days to a week, might be longer.

My interpretation of the rain is it is fake, because when you toggledownfall, the sky flashes frequently, like an overactive thunderstorm, if you toggledownfall again, it continues raining.

weather clear does nothing to it, only a restart fixes it, but not always. We actually did a restart when we switched to 41b from 39b and had to restart again directly after the version switch to stop the rain.

It happened to me right now. Reloaded the whole server, but the bug remained. I think those flashes are not from thunderbolts, they are made by the "wheather change". Actually, the weather changes, so mobs (zombies and skeletons) will burn, but the graphical effect and sound remains. If you observe those flashes, you can see that the sun or moon (depends on time) appears for a moment then disappears during the flashes.

I did not change the weather initially, it just started raining and raining. It become suspicious after a fire was set by me, but the rain did not put it out. I waited for an our, and it still rained. Then the mobs came out at night, and as soon as the night passed, they caught on flames in the rain. This was the point I decided to control the weather myself, and tried that with /weather and /toggledownfall command without any success.

MC version is 13w41b

Confirm in 13w41b, /toggledownfall, /set weather clear, and sleeping in a bed all failed to stop the rain. It just keeps on raining. I'm using the snapshot in a SSP world

This is not fixed it rains almost every other minecraft day so half of all minecraft days it is rainy. this most be a bug or an really annoying feature

it rains every 3 minutes now and I am going crazy. Can we just have a turn off weather function?
