If you light a fire on top of a block and break the block, the fire stays there but is invisible. It emits light and we burn if we get into it.
The spread of fire is disabled in my game, it may be a connection

I have is problem too playing in creative on Bedrock for my PC I was using the respawn anchor in the overworld to mine out the terrain and I kept fling into invisible fire
I have the exact same problem, and if I put another block at the privious position, it can be set on fire too.
Breaking a block of netherack that is on fire does not eliminate the fire on top of it, just makes it invisible.
To reproduce (this will occur in both creative and survival):
Place a block of netherack.
Use flint and steel to light it on fire
Break the block of netherack
Fire will disappear.
Enter the space where the netherack was
player will catch on fire and take damage.
Attempt to drop an item onto the top of the block that the netherack occupied
item will disappear
Replace the block of netherack
fire will become visible again.
Expected result:
When breaking netherack the fire should no longer exist as there isn't anything to maintain the flame
The flame isn't visible so it should no longer cause damage.
Replaced netherack should not be on fire before the player (or another mob) ignites it in some way.
2:41 into highlight reel, as I am blowing up an End City, I jump through "invisible" fire. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/827578199
World has fire tick off. Later in clip is showcased how removing and replacing block does not affect fire. Code to troubleshoot is locked in game engine files. can't provide further detail without de-compiling the whole exe
The bug only happens when fire spreads gamerule is turned off. I attached a resource pack that changes the visual block shape of both soul fire and regular fire to a normal block, because blocks that have the "fire" shape in the vanilla resource pack are set to become invisible if there are no blocks underneath.
Unlike regular fire, soul fire is properly removed when the block under it is destroyed.
