Is anyone going to address this?
@Marek I am referring to the creation of enchanted books only, not the placement of enchantments directly onto items via the enchanting table. I am aware of the ability to combine enchantments, but the issue is strictly regarding the creation of newly-created enchanted books and the enchantments they contain. None of the enchanted books created through the enchanting table contain level V enchantments with the exception of Impaling.
Apparently this is still a bug in 1.18. Seed 404640089. Try the village at 1857, 1825. Eyes of ender direct here, but no portal generates.
Edit: the portal DID in fact generate, but much lower than the eyes of ender indicate. After a certain depth the eyes begin to float upward again, suggesting that the portal should be in area that it is not. In this case, the true bug relates to the direction in which the eyes should travel for portals below a certain Y-level.
Update: since the installation of update 1.18.12, the same crash results in catastrophic failure to the point where the PS4 locks up during error reporting and corrupts the save file. Thankfully I make periodic backups, but Minecraft has literally become unplayable on my long term world as a result.
PS4 player here. Same issue. I've tested with multiple portals in my Nether, and it looks like the crashes might happen more frequently with overworld chunks that haven't been loaded recently. However, there do appear to be intermittent periods where the crashes will occur in unbroken succession- even with areas that have been loaded recently and frequently, followed by periods of relatively unhindered interdimensional travel. When the crashes are in full swing, it can take upwards of 20 or more attempts to reach the Overworld through a given portal. Usually, the successful attempt results in a crash but reloading the save file will place me in the correct destination, if not at the exact coordinates. Most of the time I'm (guessing) about 30 - 50 blocks away.
My world is super slow to load - chunks take forever to completely render. Flying with an elytra or in creative is just impossible due to the super slow loading. Often noticeable delays when loading the inventory screen or opening chests. Blocks breaking animation definitely appears out of synch. Running does not appear smooth anymore, as if the game is struggling to keep up. Mobs now seems to fly across the screen as they come into view, and ghasts are actually choppy in their flight which makes them incredibly difficult to hit with arrows. Even while stationary, arrows occasionally pass right through them if they’re far enough away. This was never a problem before 1.16.100.
Can confirm something similar is happening on the PS4 version, update 1.16.1.
The game simply cannot render chunks fast enough when flying with elytra. Scary enough in the Overworld, but absolutely treacherous when flying in the End. This has already resulted in me somehow, and seemingly without explanation, plummeting into the void. With elytra being so rare, this really makes me not want to venture out into the End anymore... and almost makes the game feel unplayable.
Still happening weeks later! Also, my internet provider is having major issues in my area, so I don’t have the option to reinstall the game. Extremely frustrating!
This appears to still be happening. Using 1.16.1 on the PS4, and recently on three separate occasions I’ve visited my villager hall to find that two or three of the villages have died and been replaced by baby villagers. The hall is well lit, relatively spacious, and free of enemy mobs, so I can’t understand what would cause these deaths other than possible suffocation.
Had to reinstall last week to workaround this issue. Started happening again today and the button combination does not work.
Just started to happening to me as well. Played perfectly fine this morning, now can’t access the game. Just stuck in the red Mojang loading screen no matter what I do. Insanely frustrating given the amount of time I’ve put into my world.
Background info;
The console is a brand new PS4 that I received about a week ago.
Minecraft is the only game on it. It was downloaded, installed, and immediately updated to 1.16.
There is only one save file. It is 120mb in size.
The game has crashed twice before this, but neither of them prevented the game from loading past startup.
There was no crash immediately preceding the occurrence of this bug.

@Doctor5555 This does not appear to be related to the proximity of any particular village. I've been able to mine through what I presume to be bad chunks after regenerating them using the method described in the link I provided earlier.
The crash happens as I continue to expand my tunnel. Even upon reloading and mining in the same direction, it always occurs at the same location.
Same issue. Last two logs attached. Have only been able to temporarily work around this using the method outlined here:
http://koastal.world/exception-generating-new-chunk-a-detailed-fix-method/
Issue returns at random as new chunks load. Game is virtually unplayable for any extended period of time.
Note: Running Java version, 20w21a, on a brand new installation of Windows 10. The only software installed on the machine since formatting are Google Chrome, Minecraft, and the latest updates of Java and the graphics card drivers.
Same thing is happening to me
yesterday I timed how long I was able to play the game before it would freeze or crash. the time was 1 minute 15 seconds. today it won’t even load.
For me it does happen on other websites where I need captcha, it does not show up. Does this mean it is a problem with my computer?
Thanks for replying but I have tried Firefox, Google Chrome and Internet Explorer to contact mojang but it keeps saying that I need to fill up the captcha yet it does not appear still. Anything else I could do? also I have been trying to contact mojang for over 2 weeks.
Lastly, I indeed checked my email and spam box and for some reason seems like they did not reply to my case.
This happens to me aswell, could someone reply?
Started experiencing this at some point between 1.19.70 and 1.19.73. I’ve lost three villagers, each contained in a 1x1 area, that had not been affected by this bug for months. What’s unusual to note is that after replacing one and placing it back in the same location as its predecessor, it also disappeared within 2 or 3 times of logging back into the world. Please fix.
