This isn't a duplicate! This is happening in 15w42a, not freaking 1.6! Reopen the issue!
This isn't a mechanic people. Area effect clouds are by their base very large entities, which is why they catch on fire. Look at spiders.
It's not a fix if you have to edit the gamefiles to fix it.
