You used an 3rd party program to modify the game. How does this relate to Minecraft bugs?
Cant confirm on 1.6.2 pre-release. You can’t mount with something in hand, but with empty slot selected you can mount. It takes longer than taming horses, but after some time the hearts animation appears.
You don’t need to feed them for taming.
Isn’t it illegal to re-publish Minecraft JAR files?

Works for me in 1.5.1 on Linux.
Re-create the world with same seed and check the chest (or did the world generator changed again so that the same seed results in different world?).
