Yesterday on my last save for my world of 2 years I once again tried to port out of the nether and the game crashed. I then tried a different save, the that was 4 days prior and before I entered the Nether so I wasn't trapped yet.
I wanted to see if I entered the Nether on that save if I would be able to port back out or have the game crash. I used portal to enter the Nether and as usual I had no problem entering the Nether. I then waited a moment and used the portal to get back to the surface world and happily I was able to port back out of the Nether without game crash. I thought that wasn't good enough test though to decide whether or not to bother building my world yet. I decided to see if I could enter the Nether and travel to a different portal in another chunk and see if I could port out or have the game crash. I entered the Nether at coordinates -192, 96, 407 and traveled to the nearest portal to my base portal which I don't use because it is certain to crash if I use my portal at base so I use the first portal east of my base then run back to base normally. The coordinates for that portal is 286,43, 28 in the Nether. The portal on surface world is inside a desert temple and I don't have any mob collections, builds, or farms there so it normally doesn't give me any trouble porting out of the Nether until last update. This time when I tried to use the portal the game crashed.
This weekend I plan enter the save from before I entered the Nether. This time before I enter the Nether I am going to travel the surface world first and make sure I open every chunk I have a portal in. I am thinking I get trapped in Nether because areas that haven't been opened since the last big update get corrupted when trying to enter from the Nether. I am hoping by opening each chunk before I try to enter from the Nether this will keep those chunks from becoming corrupted.
I play on PS4 pro
Not sure if mine is same issue. I have no problem using portal to get to the Nether it is when I try to leave the Nether the game crashes. Before I only had trouble at my base because so much going on there but now game crashes no matter which portal I try. It is a seed started before mountain cave update and is little over 2g. I am not having the same problem on my newer world started after cave/mountain update and not much built in it. My game was still crashing after the issue had been marked resolved but ever since the last update it has gotten worse and now I am trapped in the Nether unable to leave. I have a backup save that is 4 days previous to the current save but I am reluctant to play because even though I can get back to my world before I entered the Nether it would mean the Nether is off limits to me until the bug is fixed.
After reading above I tried idea that didn't occur to me. Luckily I keep ender chests by all my nether portals so I took off all my gear, put it in a skulker then put it in ender chest this way my stuff would not be left in the nether. I then jumped in lava and died. This loaded the surface world finally. I immediately checked out the area and everything was as it normally was, nothing missing, no new biomes or crazy blocks. Then I thought if the surface world can load then I should be able to get through without dying and thought maybe since the surface world just loaded it might have negated whatever the cause for it not loading when trying to load surface world through nether portal. I saved/quit, deleted save, made new back up copy from back up copy then loaded world. It still crashed 3 more times I tried but on the 4th try the world finally loaded just as I was ready to give in and settle for jumping lava. So far everything seems normal in area I opened. I will not go into nether until next hotfix that is for sure
I had already opened new world in seed to see the differences in spawn area. I had no problem opening world but I did spawn in different area and area that was original spawn in older version was vastly different, minus 4 villages, no desert where there was a lot of desert, the inland sea was now forest. The only thing recognizable was a Illager Outpost in between 2 villages by a river. Despite changes in biomes and a lot less desert I had no problems starting world in same seed. I have tried porting back to the surface world through 3 different portals to different areas and I crash everytime trying to load the surface world. Before this it would crash once or twice but eventually surface world would load but not this time. I am trapped in nether. The area I am trying to load now is mushroom island where I haven't done much, just some chests in a cave, some ovens burning kelp, and I just added a conduit. I have been following treasure maps for the past week so this was first time in week that I ported to the Nether and now I am trapped there
I played last night and everything was fine and I was around certain mobs and everything was normal. Last night I ended the game saving in the nether. When I left surface world all my mob were still where they should be and all was normal then I saved in the nether so when the game reopened I was in the Nether and not the surface world. When I returned to the surface world almost all my mob were gone, my named slime in slime room, my parrots, all of my mooshrooms but one brown one, all my tropical fish and salmon, all my cats and dogs. Basically just down to one axatoli and a brown mooshroom. Oh yeah named pandas are gone as well. Saved the game with everything normal and made back up copy just to find today on both copies all my mob are gone just like that
I never had this happen to me before today and it happened after the 2.36 update but it says here this has been fixed and I just had it happen to me shortly after the the 2.36 update, got out of my boat and it was was gone
Reply from @unknown:
There is no 2.36 update. Minecraft is currently at release 1.18.2. Please correct.
My game crashed twice after update before I could get back in. When I did get to the surface through the nether portal on my mushroom island there was no pine trees mixed in with the mushrooms this time but there was a strip of ice next to the island that wasn't there before but hopefully that will be just a matter of melting it. I checked out 3 other areas I have builds in and they all seem normal. Usually the invading biomes openly happens within the area I am loading into the game at. I will have to go back and forth from the nether to see if the issue of invading biomes changing the area is truly fixed. As I said the game still crash twice on me and there was some biome mixing just an easy fix though plus I had my boat disappear on me when I got out of the boat.
I have had same issue, about 68 blocks above the beacon the beacon lights disappear. The beacons in attached video clip has beacons set al level -13 with stained blue glass at level -12. In my rapid descent it seems the beacons become visible at level 55 which would be 68 blocks. This is in extreme hills so level 55 is beneath the surface. The same has been for back at my base. The beacon is set at level 50 from before update but my headquarters are at level 200 and the beacon lights always disappear as I climb up to my headquarters. I still get my boosts but I can't see the beacon lights.

I have a temporary solution until update fix to avoid having to delete world. The update was for the surface world not the Nether. When it is time to save/quit your game go to the Nether and save it there. This way the next time you load your game it will load the Nether and not the surface world. Create a backup of your save in the Nether. Now next time you load game the nether will load instead of the surface world. This should avoid initial crash plus if when you port to the surface world it is bugged you can delete save and load copy while still in Nether. Instead of surface world loading from initial load it won't load until you port from the Nether. Don't do a blind save. I was in my tunnels and did my saves and I made copies of those saves deleting previous copies. What had happened is that while I saved and copied underground above ground jungle had invaded my extreme hills in both main save and copy so I had to throw both away and load earlier save from 3 days ago. If I had checked the area before saving and making new copy I never would have saved it as a copy. I recommend always checking surface world for mixed biomes in area world loaded before save/quitting and alway save/quit in the Nether until this is fixed. I may just play backup copy I made when update came out that doesn't have update and not play the update until this is fixed. This way I could finish emerald ore ceiling at base before the updates scatters the emeralds away from my set up mining operation.
Beacons here are set at level -11 and now I see through video clip that lights appear at level 55 so the lights seem to show for 66 blocks so it would reach sea level but this beacon is in extreme hills at higher elevation. Anywhere above level 66 the beacons are invisible when set at level -11 to get boosts to level -61
Correction on mine. I had before been able to fix problem by deleting save and loading duplicate or sometimes just reloading save without deleting until now. I just lost all progress since update because when I came up from mining I found that jungle biome had mixed in with my extreme hills biome. I tried reloading and I tried duplicate save and tried reloading that as well and the jungle biome invasion won't go away. Now I have to delete both save and load save from the internet or load save that doesn't have update.
World sometimes loads wrong. I can usually fix by saving and reloading but usually still play it safe and delete save then load duplicate save. Sometimes game won't load and I get message saying not enough space. Other times it loads and stone blocks are checkered pink and black. Once I had tropical fish change into 2 colored blocks, 2 0f 4 colors while salmon remained normal, also parrots changed as well became black and pink with big mohawks, the time when stone type blocks all became checkered black and pink all my mob had become invisible. Game often crashes loading when porting from the nether. One load changed the landscape of my mushroom island mixing in a pine biome with it but when I save/quit and loaded duplicate copy the world went back to normal. I am on playstation 4 pro bedrock.

Stuff just disappears when you try to pick it up. If you mine a couple blocks to get past wall the blocks disappear but when you try to fill the hole with different blocks the original blocks all reappear at exact same moment in other words you go to replace 2 cobblestone with 2 diorite and as soon as you try to place 1 diorite both cobblestone are back in place. Can't place ender chest, can't pick items up as they just disappear, can't use buttons or plates to open doors, can't open chests sometimes, game crashes when porting from nether to surface world, sometimes when porting to surface world it generates wrong and mixes biomes together but if you delete and load back up biomes go back to normal, swimming on land, unable to swim in water. My base is totally unplayable on ps4 bedrock world
my game is crashing about 2 out of 3 times porting from the nether and takes longer, lag on chests and doors, swimming on land, can't place ender chest, items disappear when you try to pick them up
The first time it happened I had been shearing sheep and harvesting animals then entered the portal to go the the Nether and return to base. The 2nd time I had just got done fighting the Wither and also just deconstructed large 6 beacon pyramid I was using in the area and went to port to base on the surface world and ended up in unexplored cave to the west. The only common activity I can think of for both occasions is opening ender chests and skulker chests and entering the portal and none of it happened before yesterday's update.
First time it happened for me was yesterday after downloading update. Surface world portal portal took me to area over 800 blocks away from my Nether portal for that location. A long established portal used often. Save/quitting and reloading did not help and I had to delete world and load copy in order for the portal to go back to normal. The second time it happened was teleporting from the Nether to the surface world from different portal. The portal should have taken me to base and is my most used portal but took it me west over 1000 blocks away into chunk I wasn't trying to open yet inside an unexplored cave. Again I had to delete world and load copy for portal to go back to regular location. Neither time when it teleported me to wrong location was there a nether portal nearby to return but that doesn't matter as I don't want those chunks open until the mountain/cave updates. When they throw me into unopened chunk I delete world automatically and load copy sacrificing any progress.
Yes they both have soul speed
I had to throw away save that wouldn't load the surface world from the Nether. I loaded save of before I entered Nether, losing a little bit of progress I had to redo. Like planned I went to every portal on the surface world and opened their chunk before entering the Nether. After doing so I was able to enter the nether and travel from one portal to the other and get back and forth from the surface world and I was even able to use the portal back at base but only once. afterwards it would again not allow me to port to surface without a game crash. I was able to use nether portals as long as I used the portal I entered from and didn't stray too far. This enabled me to enter the nether to farm fortress and fight the Wither and come back. It also seems like I can't save in the Nether. If I save in Nether then I can't leave without game crashing but if I enter Nether without saving I can usually port back out from same portal I entered through. This has put an end to using the Nether as a short cut and I have gone back to all travel via the surface world. I travel the surface world to the portal that enters the Nether where I want to go and exit through same portal otherwise I get trapped in Nether because game crashes while trying to leave.
