When a structure loads, water sources in the structure spread into waterloggable blocks

Whenever you save and load a structure, any water sources in the structure (including waterlogged blocks) will spread out and fill all adjacent waterloggable blocks.

I can confirm that this does happen, I've had a lot of problems because of it

Uploaded screenshot from vanilla structure generation.

Still present in 1.13 release. From looking at similar bugs, it seems that if waterloggable blocks are adjacent to water, or other waterlogged blocks, they'll be loaded in as waterlogged. This can create a sort of chain reaction effect where if you have say, a ceiling made of half slabs with even a single block of water above one of them, all the slabs will be loaded waterlogged. Very inconvenient!

Yes, since this update makes the water far prettier and we want to build under water bases, and then move them underwater. @Calvin Costic

MC-140270 has been reopened to describe the case where existing water sources spread inside the loaded structure; i.e. the case which will not be fixed by this fix for this issue.

Really glad to see this getting fixed. Good call splitting the two issues.

I'm still getting this in random spots of custom and modified vanilla structures in 1.18.2.

You sure you don't experience MC-140270?

Nope, I've got structures spawning thirty blocks in the air with no water around except for what generates with the structure. See attached for water spreading from a two-block water feature along the full length of the structure.
