The bug
Squids and glow squids can swim exactly one block above water, which allows them to get on land and suffocate. They don't "fly" far away, they don't "teleport" back in water. They do actually swim.
How to reproduce
Spawn some squids or glow squids in water and wait. Some of them will swim out of water.

In my 1.13.1 game there is a river area I visit regularly. There are always squids dying due to this bug - up to half a dozen each time I am in the area. I am always being made aware of this bug.

@miwob It does not duplicate MC-125979. This is a separate issue, based on a different behavior of squids. They don't "teleport" back into water, nor they fly far away out of it. They swim exactly 1 block above water, which allows them to end up on land.
