Adding this comment separately to avoid this bug report being marked as a feature request.

I would recommend that the Java.com links be deleted, and users are instead recommended to install Java runtime 8, 17, or 21 (listing their respective versions).

Microsoft Store -> Library -> Check for Updates -> update Gaming Services.

Also check for updates with the Xbox app.

Message copied from the Minecraft Discord:

[TEMPORARY FIX] for Android realm crash.

This took me about 10 minutes of trial and error but if you click fast enough to click on the edit button of a single player world, then play on realm, then select the broken realm.

Once on your world is uploaded it will automatically load you into the realm on that new world - [THIS METHOD DOES REQUIRE A EMPTY SLOT/WORLD YOU DON'T MIND DEPLETING] - Then from there click menu and disable the story feature then just leave the realm and activate your old world.

@Gujamin :

Here are the steps to copy a world save on PlayStation:

Make sure your BLANK USB stick has been formatted to FAT32

On your PlayStation, go to Settings > Application Saved Data Management > Saved Data in System Storage > Copy to USB Storage Device > Select Minecraft > Select Saved World to copy > Copy

This should then copy the world save to the USB, which you can share to a file sharing site such as OneDrive, which you can share elsewhere (export)

I just assisted someone in the Minecraft Discord server with this issue. They did actually not have PS+, but they said that they were willing to get it just to see if it fixed their issue. And it did!

For those who are unaware, there was a bug that allowed multiplayer play without PS+ introduced in mid-september. 1.20.50 fixed the bug, resulting in some players being unaware that PS+ is required.

But yes, it appears that this issue is actively being investigated by Mojang.

Since mid-september, some players have been able to join multiplayer games without a PlayStation+ subscription. I assume the last update (1.20.50) patched the issue.

What's interesting though, is that it is affecting those who do have a PlayStation+ subscription.

This does not appear to be a regional issue, as many players have been reporting this issue approximately 15 minutes before this bug report was created. Affected players have been in different regions of the world.

Screenshots of the player's complaints were shared to the Mojira Discord before finding out about this bug report.

If anyone is having this issue and happens to come across this bug report, please try disabling your firewall.

I just happened to come across someone in the Minecraft Discord server (not the Mojira one) who had this issue, and after learning that Yggdrasil is the name of Minecraft's authentication server, and doing some tinkering (changing Microsoft account password and attempting to use a VPN) they discovered that it was a firewall issue on their computer.

Added after posting: haha I went from the Discord to here after they figured out the issue. The other comment made today was from them!

Helpers - I have confirmed that this user has tried clearing their game resource packs cache, and they've been actively complaining in both main mc and Mojira Discord servers about the issue. They seemed to be the only ones affected by it, until I met another person in main mc Discord with the same issue.

OP in this post has said that they have previously received a Bedrock chat ban, but the new person that I found, claims they have never gotten one.

This bug report can be closed, or marked as invalid (whichever is more appropriate). The reporting user was using Chunker unnecessarily, and attempting to use it to change Java versions. They were able to fix the issue by directly transferring the files between computers without the use of Chunker.

Additional information that I believe may be relevant:

the world is from another computer.

They zipped the file

Sent it through Gmail

Unzipped it

Ran it through Chunker

This issue appears to have started in the last hour, and it seems to be isolated to only Mac users. I have observed at least 7 different users in the main Minecraft server report this issue. I am instructing anyone else with the issue to attach their launcher_log to this bug report.

I've also posted this in the Mojira Discord as well.

In my previous comment, I mentioned a user that moved into India from Russia who was having an issue. It turns out that they have documented their own experience on Mojira, at MCPE-174559 . While that bug report is listed as invalid, it supposedly started happening at the same time frame that the others listed it as.

Adding more information:

This issue appears to affect more than just one region. Affected users do not seem to have an internet provider in common.

One reported user is in Latvia, and another user is in Poland. A third user, having moved from Russia, is also being affected, and they are reporting seeing the issue "you need to authenticate to Microsoft Services".

This issue is likely the fault of Microsoft/Xbox, NOT Mojang. However, this bug report is still a way of having the issue documented.

The issue appears to have begun 2 to 3 days ago.

To any Helpers out there, please don't merge this with another bug report for the time being. This bug report was created with the intentions of escalating a possible regional outage around Poland to Microsoft. One of the Moderators of the bug tracker has been made aware of the issue and is expecting this.

I believe that this issue is due an outage, but I am unsure who is to blame. It happened at the exact same time that the Support intake form page went down recently.

If you're having an issue updating your launcher at the moment, get a VPN (A free one is Proton, but any VPN should be fine)

If you can, see if your VPN allows you to connect from the United States. (Can be anywhere really, just not a European country).

Then try opening the launcher again.

If it doesn't work, try downloading the legacy launcher. https://launcher.mojang.com/download/MinecraftInstaller.msi and try again after uninstalling the current launcher.

You will likely get additional missing file errors afterwards. Most of them should be addressed in MCL-23025 as a workaround. If it's just an "icon" file missing, it should be the only file missing.

I have attached another launcher log. So far from what I have seen, this issue seems to be localized to certain Europeans. Two of the launcher logs are from Denmark, and one of them is from Romania.

@Turbo I would like to say that I am able to download the file that you just linked to. I am using a mobile data internet connection, from multiple timezones away from where the logs originated.

I was the one who instructed OP to make this bug report.

I have attached the launcher log of another user who appears to be affected by the same issue. This user came into the official Minecraft Discord server at approximately the same time as OP. Both logs have two core failure errors, 4 and 7. Both users reside in different countries.
