The character creator and the marketplace is broken for me. When I try to create/edit a skin and I open a customization category (e.g. Base, Eyes, Hair, Top, Bottom, etc.) the only thing that loads are the Steve and Alex items, for example in Base it just shows the Alex base and Steve base. Some categories do load but not always.
For example right now Outerwear and Headwear loads all the cosmetic items but yesterday they didn’t. The Marketplace also does not open, it gives me an error saying “We’re unable to connect to the Marketplace. Maybe check your internet connection?”. My internet works fine on my Xbox, I even tried to open the Marketplace/edit skins on my computer and the same glitch happens. I’ve reinstalled Minecraft on my Xbox and my computer and also signed in and out. Is there any reason this is happening or a way to fix it? Thanks.

I had this issue on xbox and I deleted my account off of the console then redownloaded it and it seems to be working fine now.

Nothing you can do will fix this it has followed me on two xboxs my One X and Series X. I've tried removing accounts and reinstalling the game and it does not work. Interestingly my sons account on the one X does not have the issue.
We are at the mercy of the developers releasing a fix.

This has been an issues for me here too since the last beta version on Xbox One. Reinstalling game/Re-downloading profile doesn't fix it either, guess it really just a long wait for a fix at this point. Can still manually recreate char, but marketplace is a no go zone.

i think it has something to do with the marketplace content that you buy cause when i made a new account this didn't happen.

The same thing happened on my Switch. I signed out. now I can't get back in. At least I can still play some worlds I created. Just have to deal with default skins.

I already logged a ticket with Mojang support and they told me they did not have the resources to troubleshoot this and told me to raise the bug here in the forum. Not happy that we the paying customer that are also helping you beta test the product are getting the run around without a fix for over a month now.

Please be assured I'm not asking you to send this information to support in order to pass you off to another team without further action, but rather I'm asking that affected players send the relevant information through the channel as described to help us better understand the problem, so that a fix can be made as quickly as possible.

If I could give you remote access to my xbox to troubleshoot I would, I'm a member of the xbox insider program. Surely Microsoft are collecting telemetry from my xbox that could assist you with seeing the game in a failing state and help you to gather Minecraft beta debug logs from my consoles so you can see the issues we have described.

This is not resolved for me. Not sure why, but both my phone and tablet don’t allow me to change any of my marketplace skins and it simply remains as the default Steve. Even when ‘purchasing’ the free content this January 2022, the items did not show on Steve before or after purchasing it. I have been online in different households with different internet connections so VPNs aren’t the issue. The only thing I can do at the moment is upload my custom skin from minecraftskins (but then there seems to also be a different bug about other players not seeing custom skins too currently).

I am still experiencing this bug as well (on iOS). I cannot open the marketplace at all, and my character creator shows the same blank screen. On rare occasions I find it is working for like 10 minutes but then it will lose connection mid-session.
