Original Description:
When I use the mouse to place blocks or use items, I experience what I see as an input bounce. This input bounce is not experienced outside of Minecraft. I tried several mouse with the same results. I have only experienced this phenomena since upgrading to the 1.2.1 version of Minecraft. When I try to open gates they often times open and close so fast and so many times that I am unable to pass through the gate.

I'm getting this too and so are many others. Only started in 1.2.1. Almost unplayable and very noticeable.

Seems to be the "place block/use" command that is glitching. In addition to the rapid doors, when moving and placing blocks at the same time the blocks get placed at an uncontrollably fast rate. This makes the game very difficult to play.

I'm experiencing this as well. Only started in the 1.2.1 update. Noticed it right away.

I am having this problem on the Xbox One version as well.

Any movement resets all right click intereaction cooldowns. This included block placement and gates, doors, trapdoors, etc. Also placing spawn-eggs and some other place events.
The work-around is to not move when opening or closing doors and gates. You can utilize this bug to build really fast: Just tap a direction and then swing your cross-hair across the target blocks while holding block-place; near instant building.
I've confirmed the bug on Xbox-one and windows 10 editions.

Brian Green has it right. I just encountered this in 1.2.1.1 on Windows 10 and came here to report it.

Can also confirm this on Windows 10 PC. Also happens when you try getting into a bed when you are either too far away, it's not nighttime, mobs are around, etc. Very noticeable indeed and urgently needs to be fixed.

Yup, I'm also seeing this issue on the 1.2.1 update on Windows 10..
It's EXTREMELY rapid, and it doesn't just effect doors! It also seems to happen with Torch placement if your moving, I keep placing tons of touches every time I try to place one.
This bug has been reported to our internal bug tracker for further testing and a fix. It is scheduled to be fixed in one of the future updates (no specific date can be provided).

@JoePCool14 and @Nikolaus Stromberg
You can work around this issue until it is fixed by making sure to stop moving when trying to get into bed just simply take your hand off the ASWD keys or thumb off of the left thumbstick while clicking pressing the button. I know it's annoying but it works 100% of the time that way. I'm sure they'll get it fixed soon. As a programmer myself I'm sure this will be fixed quickly.

@Brian Green
I know, I just want to add my thoughts to make sure they know fixing this is important. 🙂

This needs to be a top priority to fix, this nearly renders survival unplayable.

It makes it harder/annoying. But i wouldnt say unplayable.

No, it is on the verge of unplayable. Impossible to run through doors, place water while moving, flick a lever on the way past... The list goes on. I know how difficult the software process and programming can be and I won't start hammering people but how this 1.2.1 release got the green light through any testing with a bug like this seems very bizarre. I won't speculate as to why, in a game where you can't even roll back the versions. That is all. Thanks to them for fixing in advance.

I am also of the mind that this makes the game unplayable on survival, outside of the simplest tasks. Mobs will follow you through doors you're trying to close, you have to continually pick up the dozen torches you placed trying to light a place, even placing cobblestone while building will spam if you're moving... this needs to be hotfixed ASAP!

I also agree.. I'd been waiting for the 1.2 update to play survival again.. But now it's difficult to place torches or close doors in emergencies..
Standing-still while doing things as "work-around" is not an acceptable solution, because this game has LOTS of panic moments when your surviving.
It's almost impossible to place/pickup a bucket of water without making a mess because you can't stand still when water is pushing you around.
This issue is VERY game-breaking and SHOULD be the next thing they fix! (This and the lighting bug.) They're going to need a 1.2.2 asap just to fix some of these horrible bugs..

Confirmed on Xbox One 1.2.1. Tried to light up a large area via my usual walk-backward-and-place-torch-every-3-seconds and I got 2 torches for every trigger pull. Then noticed gates would openclose instead of just opening. Then was building a dirt bridge and got like 3 or 4 blocks down (in incorrect places) before I realized what was happening.

I don't know that I would call it game breaking, but it is definitely very noticeable and makes gameplay highly annoying. I'm not sure how that got past testing.
I'd be willing to bet it is caused by the block placement speed "tweak" that they mention in the release notes.

Same problem here! This bug is completely new to me. Each time I try to place consecutive blocks (any kind of material) they are quickly positioned so as to overlap. Make buildings is hindered by this bug, now. The problem is present either with the controller or with the mouse. I had just noticed that the previous bug had been fixed ( https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MCPE-22362 ) and now... a new problem. This is really depressing.

IT FINALLY GOT NOTICED!!!

im confused why this isnt fixed already, this is a pretty large bug that is completely new to the game since the most recent patch, so i can't imagine it would be too complicated to address or take much time, it should be a top priority, even if its just a hotfix that explicitly fixes this issue and adds nothing else.

This sometimes happens when villagers open/close doors.
The reason I am adding this comment is to point out that if non-player entities cause the same glitch, it should help diagnosis by eliminating keyboard/mouse/controller input causes.

This also occurs when placing items. Blocks, torches, etc. Placing 2,3,4, even 5 when only inputing the command once.

This issue was introduced in 1.2.1. Now when right clicking doors or placing blocks it triggers so fast that it double or triple open a door and accidentally place blocks half the time.
Please add a half second or so cool down after a right click or create a mouse click sensitivity setting.
It is super convenient to hold rick click and place blocks automatically while strafing or moving backwards but the polling is way too fast.

just revert it to how it functioned before the last patch, it was perfect then.

can confirm this in 1.2.1

In fact, if I place blocks to fill in a 2x2 tunnel while walking backwards, I can even cause suffocation damage to the player.

Confirmed for Bedrock Edition v1.2.1 on the Windows 10 platform.

If the current version is already in the affected versions, then there is no need to confirm.
Edit: Fixed in version 1.2.2

Almost fixed in 1.2.2 on PC
Placing blocks above head while jumping results in multiple placements.
I was shaft mining and hit a gravel area, about 6 blocks up of gravel, I tried to jump to hit the top block place spare cobble, to fill the hole so mobs don't wander in, and it placed 7 cobble and caused suffocation damage.
Obviously this is nowhere near as bad as before but the underlying issue is still open.

The use command (sleeping in bed, open/close doors etc.) seems to be fixed, but placing blocks are still bugged. Placing blocks while moving is like double right clicking. Maybe inserting a delay between the first and second block placement (of the same click) would fix this.

The same thing happens to me as of 1.2.2

As previously stated, it looks like the beds, doors, item frames, etc. issues have been fixed but block placement is still an issue. I tested this specifically with slabs and it was very hard to prevent a double up when placing them.
TLDR: Not completely fixed in 1.2.2

It does seem that door open/close is working now, but block placement is definitely still broken in 1.2.2.3.

yeah it seems all has been fixed aside from block placement while moving. im nervous that it is intentional though, maybe an attempt to let players place blocks faster by moving, but it is just way too fast, it becomes too difficult to control, it should definitely by slowed down some.

Everything is fixed, but block placement lol

The title/description should perhaps be revised to say that it only affects block placement now (to avoid confusion).

I can confirm that the block placement bug still exists for both Xbox and Windows 10, as of the latest 1.2.2 update.
I agree that it is incredibly annoying and almost unplayable. I would love to see it fixed.

This is NOT resolved in 1.2.2.3.
Block placement is still messed up.
It is playable but the issue should not be in resolved status.
to duplicate jump and try to place one block; you can't. try to place one block while being pushed by flowing water; you can't.
The interaction (door/gate) portion is resolved however.

Agree - this is NOT resolved. There are a bunch of comments here since 1.2.2.3 stating as much - why was it marked resolved?

The change log for 1.2.5 build 1, which is a beta build that is only on Android at the moment for some reason, lists this as fixed, but it has erroneously been marked as resolved in 1.2.2.3.
As this issue had different aspects that were fixed separately, the ticket relating to block placement speed is MCPE-26819.
Updated title and description.
