When I open the game, the Mojang screen keeps flashing endlessly, preventing me from entering the game. I tried reinstalling, but this still happens every time. Happens on devices with Intel Integrated Graphics.

This issue also happens in the version 1.16.200.52.

Also happens in 1.16.200.53.

We still can´t play. The problem remain without any solution after so long. The button combo does not work for me or my friends. I think you are losing the respect of many players who, like me, are very disappointed by your lack of response.... We have not been able to play for more than two months.

Keeps happening in the version 1.16.200.55. Please, try to fix this issue.

Keeps happening in 1.16.200.56.

Keeps happening, 1.16.21050.0.

first time getting this issue. It's kinda annoying

This is also happening for my brother. Is there a current way to get around this issue?

I have tried many possible solutions but none has helped me out yet, and because of this, I haven't been able to play for more than half a year. Judging by the time that this issue has been unsolved, it's probably not going to be fixed, because it's kind of related to graphic card's performance, although, mine should work with the game, but it isn't.

does anyone know why it does this?

I guess it's kinda related to graphic cards, it may happen because of the graphic card's low performance or age. That's what I can guess considering that my graphic card is getting old, and some errors displayed when the issue happened were related to the graphic card's permissions.

I don't thick its the Graphics Card because i have DirectX 12 and minecraft still supports that
For me when i open the game the red screen with mojang logo pops up then it flashes once to red and then it crashes the game
After trying to open the game multiple times after crashing it come up with a white screen and taked 20 mins to load up

Mine's supported too, but that's the problem, it should work but it actually isn't. Don't take my opinion too seriously, since I only know 2 cases where the graphic card's performance is the problem, and that's why I think it could be related to it.
For those hitting this issue, could you please include information about your graphics card and its drivers?
You might also like to run dxdiag and copy the relevant information from there. (Win+R → dxdiag) - be sure to remove any personal information.

Something that happened yesterday: I opened minecraft and it started doing the flashing thing as usual, but then I started to screen share minecraft on discord to show my friend and the flashing stopped! It was just a black screen at that point, so I waited a bit longer and I heard minecraft music coming from the game, and was even able to here the menu click sounds when i started randomly clicking my mouse. (It was still a black screen)

i opened minecraft for 2 to 3 ours and still nothing happened. i hope this gets fixed in a day or 2

same problem for me , as the game updated to 1.16.200 can`t load anymore ...worked fine with 1.16.100 ... tried to uninstall minecraft / reinstall ...different graphics driver ....reinstall windows and again with all ... nothing helped .... also on intel hd graphics EDIT !!! if U uninstall oficial drivers then windows will install those basic or generic or how it`s called drivers , then ? U can start the game with no problem ....of course it will be not playable without graphic acceleration but can start up SECOND EDIT !!! maybe something related to HP ? mine is also an hp laptop

are there some possible solutions that I can try for now?

I agree I would not mind a solution to the problem that might not be ideal but works. if you have one please share. thank you 🙂

might has something to do with HP laptops and pc

No, I don't think so, I don't have anHP laptop, I have an ASUS laptop, I think it's something else

I just got a new pc and its not working

Is it something to do with Laptops?

is it a specific type of graphics card?

According to one of my friends it happened of android (MCPE) as well.

My device is an HP desktop, so I don't really know what's the cause of this issue.

1 months ago microsoft store by mistake my minecraft to 1.16.200 when it was not realeased it was flashing like this only then I deleted that Now the same version keeps flashing red and black screen. Please Help Me . I have given you the information above

I have the same issue right now after I update to 1.16.200 its kinda annoying I can't play the game

YO YO YO I JUST DISABLED MY DISPLAY ADAPTER (graphics card) THEN OPENED MINECRAFT AND IT LOADED UP. It worked. So ye it does have somehting to do with ur graphics card. When i disabled mine in Device Manger i was able to play the game. EDIT: it kinda makes the game laggy (understandably) so its barely playable.

YO THAT WORKS!!!! THANK YOU now we just need to figure out why the graphics card is not working.

its not really a fix but it just confirms that its a problem with the graphics card
Thanks for all of the relevant information provided so far. Could you also let us know if you are using integrated graphics, or a discrete card as well? (And which types these are?)
(It would be worth checking that all of your drivers are up to date, including DirectX.)

I'm using an Intel integrated graphic card, integrated in the Intel(R) Celeron(R) J1800 @ 2.41 GHz 2.41GHz. Its drivers are updated.

I note that every player who has shown us your DXDIAG output has DirectX level 12 and Direct3D level 11.2. I do not have this problem, but I have Direct3D level 12. So it would appear that you all might not have all the updates you need.
The Bedrock developers have told us that they tested 1.16.200 against D3D level 11.1, so 11.2 should be compatible, but perhaps that's the cause of this problem. If possible, see if you can check for Windows Updates. There were some "optional updates" not too long ago that updated firmware in my case. Optional updates are not automatically installed, you have to select them explicitly. Looking at Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update, if you see a View Optional Updates link, that's where you'll find them.
I recommend installing any optional updates and seeing if that helps. Please let us know either way.

@unknown: It worries me that you've had DXDIAG crash unless you use that switch. It's a troubleshooting tool, and those are normally written specially so that they won't fail when something isn't just right. When I've had problems with such tools, it has been because malware or a failed update left my system corrupted. If you've been having all sorts of pesky strange behavior from Windows, you might want to consider using Reset This PC, found on Settings > Update & Security > Recovery.

as I said freshly installed windows just for this issue and my infos
[media]
the new render dragon engine interference/incompatibility with divers ? cause if we uninstall intel drivers the game will start up with microsoft generic drivers but not be playable cause no graphic acceleration

@unknown: I assume your attachment is showing the default driver, which is far out of date and wouldn't be expected to work. If you could, try running Windows Update and install any missing updates, including optional updates. That's how you would normally be getting driver updates, although you might also need to get updates from HP. (Some manufacturers install their own software to scan your operating system for needed driver updates. If HP does that, first try using the HP drivers in preference to those provided by Windows.)
Once you believe you've gotten all the updates available, please run DXDIAG (you can run it right from the Windows search box) and show us the Display tab output.
Note: Helping you figure out what updates you need is not normally a part of our function on the bug tracker. We're doing it now, to an extent, as a way of trying to figure out what common characteristics you share that could be causing all of you this issue. But we don't really have the staffing, or the expertise, to walk you through the entire update process, so if you need to go beyond Windows Update, please rely on your manufacturer's support advice.

there are the last drivers by win 10 ... see ...all updates done the optionals too ....with these drivers i was playing in the afternoon the 1.16.200 rolled out ... and worked well with 1.16.100 and below
[media]
So this is what my display tab looks like after I installed the optional updates. minecraft still doesn't work

Thank U for suggestions Auldrick but ... as I said in my earlier comments tried them all : win10 fresh install , ALL the drivers from hp,win10 or intel ....I belive is the new render dragon engine issue and someone with more knowledge maybe try to check that all the versions suggested with problems (minecraft) are with this new engine ... attach here the new intel drivers dated 10/23/2020 ... same result red blink P.S. I din`t have any problems with 1.16.100 or any lower official version till 1.16.200
[media]
@unknown: For comparison, here is my Device Manager output:
[media]
I don't know why yours doesn't have a model (like the "530" on mine) or why your driver is so old. Have you tried using the "Update Driver" button? Anything more I might tell you at this point would just be guessing, and that's dangerous when it comes to configuring your hardware, so I'm going to have to leave this for the devs to figure out.
@unknown: I see that even after the updates, your Direct3D DDI is still at 11.2. I don't even know whether that's the problem, but it's quite suspicious that every one of you appears to have that in common while I don't share it, and mine works. But again, I'm just guessing here and trying to gather hints that hopefully the devs will find helpful.

just so I know.. will this take a while to be resolved?

the answer is simple Auldrick ... I suppose U have an i7 cpu and mine is a pentium n N3540 here is link to specs https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/82105/intel-pentium-processor-n3540-2m-cache-up-to-2-66-ghz.html

@unknown: Sorry, we're just community volunteers. We have no access to what goes on inside Microsoft Studios, so in general we don't know any facts like that. You can try contacting a Community Management team member, who might be able to tell you about that. The Minecraft Discord or Twitter are ways you might be able to reach them.
@unknown: I'm not sure what you wanted me to see in those specs, but I wish I had an i7. I have a Core(TM)-i3 CPU running at 3.8 GHz with 8 GB RAM. It's not a gaming computer at all, just a standard Dell SOHO-type desktop PC, about 4 years old now I think.

Will rolling back my display adapters to previously installed drivers do anything?

I have no idea what that will do. You're bridging into that area I was talking about, where I'd just be guessing and I shouldn't be giving advice that could result in you messing up your device's configuration.

Here is a solution that I found that worked for me:
Open AMD radeon settings
Go to Gaming tab and press Games icon; you will see Minecraft under your games
Press on Minecraft
Go to Graphics: Change profile to Standard
Enable: Radeon Anti Lag and dont change anything else
Launch game from there
For me works flawlessly!!!

Started as of 1.16.200 for me. I'm on a Lenovo yoga730 (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050). The game simply displays the red launch screen, stops responding, and crashes.
Edit: It successfully (with a bit of stuttering) launched once. Upon bringing the tab back into focus (normally goes into the white loading screen) the app crashed.
Also, I did get an outdated driver note when it launched.

Please use the comments to report new information that might help the developers, or might help other users circumvent the problem. Comments that only repeat what's already been said will be removed to make it easier to find the helpful information.

I found that most of us having this kinda of issues are with Intel HD Graphics.

What About Intel HD Graphics

I tried disabling the Intel HD Graphics on the device manager and the game works but it's barely playable. The update seems to have a problem with the Intel HD Graphics.

Intel HD Graphics is a chipset that provides graphics processing similar to a GPU, but is typically less powerful and which shares resources with the CPU. It is typically used in computers with less need for intensive graphics processing such as home and small office computers, and those where too little space is available for the kind of power supply a GPU normally needs. Essentially, systems that don't have a dedicated graphics processor and aren't used primarily for gaming.
It has been established in previous comments that almost everybody reporting this problem is using Intel HD Graphics for their graphics processing. There is an exception, but it might not actually be an exception because a computer with the Intel chipset can be upgraded with a GPU, in which case the chipset is supposed to defer to the GPU card. However, the bug might be triggered even in that situation.

Ok

It's not quite as simple as that. I have Intel HD Graphics, for instance, and it works fine for me. That's why we're focusing on this issue as possibly involving outdated drivers, possibly mixed with some up-to-date ones.
The bug tracker is not a forum or chat site, it's for communicating bugs to the developers. Please refrain from using it to discuss the issue with one another. Comments should be used to provide new information that might help the developers find and fix the problem. We also allow you to describe workarounds that might help other users circumvent the problem. Other uses are subject to removal. Thank you for your cooperation.

I just installed the most récent drivers for Intel HD graphics, but thé issue still happens, also I tried to disable thé device (i mean the graphic card) thé game opens normally if you do that but it's really laggy

This is, I think, the second report that specifically says their device has both the Intel chipset and a GPU graphics card. Does anybody who has reported this issue only have the Intel chipset? (I only have the chipset, and I don't have this issue, so I'm wondering if having both the chipset and a graphics card is what causes the problem.)

Has anyone tried starting Windows in safe mode and running the game in safe mode? I would not recommend it, but I was able to work around MCPE-109870 (no menu buttons showing) by booting into safe mode.

I also have an Intel processor and an Intel HD Graphics card. This is the first time my Minecraft win10 does this.

Hello Auldrick , all of us who uploaded those pictures are doing this in good faith trying to be helpful ... the intention is not to upset U in any form .... maybe ...if u have a hunch or something / anything in mind help us to what additional info U need for not spaming this board with irrelevant info , Thank U for Your effort trying to help us

This has happened to me also. Very upset! They should have stopped most computers at version 1.16.1x as 1.16.200 is RTS editions that the majority of players do not have and may not even want. Its a shame that the majority of players get shut out of a game they purchased to support a few rich kids who can fork out the ultra expensive RTS computers or cards. This has been a real let down. I suggest you download Minetest. It is free and I do not think they will go to RTS anytime soon.
Another discouraging thing is when I unloaded Minecraft and reload, I saw this on the web page "Minecraft 'This product won't work on this device. See System Requirements" I clicked on system requirements and got nothing. That is why I am upset as Minecraft worked well for years on the system I got. I knew they where going RTS but was told they will continue to support the non RTS people. I feel now very betrayed by Microsoft as I have invested a lot of hard earned money into this thing!
What a crappy time to do this when the majority of us are holed into our houses during COVID19 with minimum funds and lost jobs etc...
Having an RTX / Ray Tracing compatible graphics card is not necessary to run Minecraft - you only need that capability to be able to run worlds / use content with ray tracing enabled.
However, it seems possible that some players may be affected by the issue mentioned here if their graphics drivers are not up to date. (Some of the dxdiags provided here show driver dates from 2015.)
You may wish to try updating your graphics drivers to see if that helps - and you may wish to seek advice if you are not confident in doing so yourself. There are also some help resources available online, such as the Microsoft support pages.

Experiencing the same issue as the one above but in my case it loads in the the menu goes all glitchy. Firstly, this is not my graphics drivers as they were updated to the recent version. Secondly, This has nothing to do with hard drives/ssds as Installed on both and got the same issues, I have been experiencing this problem ONLY on the newest update as of typing this.
Could you mention which driver version you have installed please?

This also happens to me after updating. It worked perfectly fine before this update.

The same thing happens to me, before updating to version 1.16.200 I was doing great, but I updated it and that was when the problem started

i upload my driver and graphics card screenshots to this post, mine are different from everyone elses. so idk how the heck to even go about fixing it. hopefully there is an answer soon tho, i dont want to stop playing minecraft cause of this.
[media][media]To be clear - if you are experiencing an issue that differs from "getting stuck on switching red and black screens" then we should probably split that out into a separate report. (Possibly MCPE-109870)
@unknown - As you are using AMD Radeon graphics, are you getting the blinking red and black screen, or are you seeing a glitchy menu as described by blaze above?

Update. I was able to play after changing the graphics setting in the radeon software to gaming, while this did allow me to play servers and worlds fine the game still had random artifacts at times.

I have this problem too but I have an Intel not an amd integrated graphics

For those hitting this bug "getting stuck on switching red and black screens" on Intel integrated GPU's and after updating drivers.
Please post your driver version after updating and possibly the source of the driver (for example downloaded from a manufacturers site) or include information from a DXdiag report. Comments like: "I've installed the latest driver" might not be helpfull. Please specify the driver version (source) and hardware.
For Intels generic drivers see https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/80939/Graphics.

it was the red screen and now its the glitchy screen with the full animation thats running in the background. i can double click on the screen and it will move the glitches to another spot. but i cant log on at all. i can on Pocket edition and Java works perfectly fine on my computer. along with World of Warcraft and Call of Duty, among us and fall guys. none of my other games are effected by it. its not my computer. my drivers are up to date. Bedrock worked perfectly fine, then my friend updated his realm, i downloaded it and it did not work afterwards. i tried to reinstall, and that does not work. ive played with my graphics card and updated my drivers, etc.

Having the same issue. Intel graphics had no updates. Driver Version 10.18.10.4885. Just for the record, the Android version of Bedrock is working fine.

@ KillerbeeNL the driver is not important here , I installed fresh windows 10 after that tried all the possible drivers but no luck .... maybe Auldrick was on to something important ...he made an observation that everyone of us who are affected by this problem has older intel cpu ( mine is bay trail n3540 ) with d3d11.2 hardware compatibility ... and I was the one who posted those 2015 drivers pic but those were working fine and played minecraft every day for the last year with them( till today these are the latest drivers in win10 update) ... now I updated them to version 15.33.53.5161 10/23/2020 exactly from Your link ... no luck ....P.S. : I was playing minecraft in the afternoon the 1.16.200 rolled out saved game after update red blink ... to me is the new render dragon engine problem and have little hope that this bug will be resolved

"...he made an observation that everyone of us who are affected by this problem has older intel cpu"
Can confirm, I have integrated intel graphics, I can post my dxdiag if needed.

It almost certainly is a problem with the drivers. Yes, Render Dragon is what triggers it in your case, but the fact that I use both Intel HD Graphics and Render Dragon with no problem demonstrates that it's probably not a bug in Render Dragon. It's most likely either a case of outdated drivers, or conflicts with drivers for other hardware.
Please don't read this as either us or Mojang trying to brush you off. Mojang is very concerned about this problem and has people intently looking for ways to help. They did test this before releasing 1.16.200, but they didn't have the problem, just like I don't, so it slipped through testing.
The following link might be worth looking at:
How to Update Intel HD Graphics Drivers on Windows 10
Some additional notes:
My display driver's name is "Intel HD Graphics 530". From what I've seen, you all don't have that "530" on the end. I don't know if that means you're using an earlier version or just a different version. If it's an earlier version, it may not be supported by Minecraft. However, I expect Mojang will tell us if that's the case.
My Direct3D version 12 is later than your version 11.2. Mojang told us they tested 11.1, so it's likely that 11.2 should be compatible, but you never know until you try.
When 1.16.200 came out last Tuesday, I had just updated on Monday my Intel firmware using Windows Update. It's an "optional update" that doesn't get installed automatically; you have to select it deliberately (using the View Optional Updates link on Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update). (Note that firmware updates take longer than regular Windows updates, so be prepared to be patient.)
My PC manufacturer, Dell, pre-installed its own tested combination of drivers and an update utility that runs on a monthly schedule to keep them up to date. Many big manufacturers do this because drivers work directly with the hardware, so it's possible for them to interfere with each other and there are trillions of ways to combine them, far too many to test. When Windows sees that a manufacturer has pre-installed drivers, it assumes the manufacturer will take responsibility for keeping them up to date, using its own update utility, so it doesn't include them in Windows Update unless the manufacturer makes special arrangements to do it that way. Therefore, running Windows Update won't necessarily get you the latest graphics drivers you need if your computer was made by Dell, HP, Acer, etc. You should try to ensure that the manufacturer's update utility is running normally and on schedule. If you can't confirm that, you might want to search your manufacturer's web site for driver updates and tools. (Sometimes people remove the manufacturer's software, thinking it's all bloatware, but in the case of the update utility it's not.)
One more thing I forgot: As shown in my DirectX Diagnostics, my driver version for Intel HD Graphics 530 is much higher than any of yours. That could be because 530 uses different drivers, but it might also mean you're not as up to date as you think you are.
[media][media]

Yes Auldrick but Your 530 is integrated from g4000 series to i7 series intel processors and all of them are hardware compatible with directx 12.1 ....all the rest of us with this problem are on older cpu-s with 11.2 d3d hardware compatibility that`s why I posted that link yesterday and repeat that now... see my cpu specs n3540 https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/82105/intel-pentium-processor-n3540-2m-cache-up-to-2-66-ghz.html

Ah, ok, I understand a little better now. But I noticed that my D3D level 12 supports feature levels 11.0, 11.1, 12.0, and 12.1 – but not 11.2. We're looking into the possibility that 11.2 was a broken update and that's why it's not supported by the latest D3D drivers. Mojang tested against 11.1, so even though your chipsets are older they should still work. Maybe instead of updating to the 11.2 level, you need to downgrade to 11.1. We're (i.e. Mojang is) looking into that, but feel free to try it on your own if you can figure out how.

I downloaded and installed every important and optional update within Windows Update, and updated my integrated graphic card's driver with the Intel Driver Support Assistant, now it shows that my drivers and software are up to date (screenshot attached), but Minecraft still doesn't work. @unknown: Excellent information, thank you. I guess the evidence is now pretty weak that your problems can be solved by updating more drivers. That just leaves the possible incompatibility with Direct3D DDI Version 11.2. The developers are aware of this theory and are looking into it.
Meanwhile, thank you all for your patience as we work through this, and if anybody notices anything new you think might be helpful, please comment.

Happening to me aswell since the 1.16.200 update came. I got an integrated Intel HD Graphics 4000 tried every single driver possible from the Intel website and nothing worked, tried aswell a clean Windows installation with the newest update and nothing worked. The ONLY thing that worked was to disable the drivers from the Integrated Card and I could open the game (obviusly not playable). So pretty much this is happening since the RTX update thing, which maybe (is not necesarry a RTX GPU) is caused because our hardware is old but I had zero trouble since Minecraft came to W10 and I was playing one week ago with no problems so it's annoyin. Hope the team can get fix this, playing Minecraft is my hobby. 😞
Here I post a few pictures about my dxdiag with the latest drivers.
[media][media]

I tried to disable my Intel Integrated graphics and the game opened as usual but as expected extremely slowly, meaning I still cant play, hope this to be useful.

I think It's not just Intel cards, and its not just dual cards, i'm very confused and i can't find a way to fix it on my own, i've tried with 6 different laptops and all of them have this problem.

I also have this problem in my computer. And it appeared in beta version 1.16.200.
My video card is AMD's

All: Please remember that this is not a support forum. If you want to discuss this among yourselves, there are plenty of places you can find and chat with other community members, such as the Discord or Reddit. If you want to discuss it with Mojang, you need to contact the Community Management team on Discord or their Twitter accounts. Comments here should provide new information for the developers, and we also welcome sharing workarounds with each other, but excess chatter will be removed.

I've done some research on Direct3D 11.2. Earlier I speculated that D3D feature level 11.2 might have a fatal flaw and that you might be able to solve the problem by downgrading to 11.1. What I've learned now is that D3D release 11.2 did not have a corresponding feature level 11.2, so there should be no need to downgrade. From what I've read, none of you managed to do that anyway, but I wanted to make sure you didn't continue trying. It shouldn't be necessary.
Some of you are saying this might not be limited to Intel HD Graphics, but the details are sketchy. If anyone has a clear example of a Windows 10 system that gets hung with red screen flashing during Minecraft startup, and you're not using Intel HD Graphics as your graphics processor, please comment with information about your video hardware.
By the way, a lot of the discussion here so far has been highly technical and may be intimidating to some of you. Don't worry if you don't understand everything that we've been talking about. You don't have to use the technical language, just describe your issue however you can.

Hi, I have an Intel HD Graphics and the exact same error happens to me, why does it happen and how can I solve it? it's been like this for a long time, and it's frustrating to have the game and not be able to play. Please, could you help me? 😞

Been searching in many forums about this including this one and still can't fix my game. I've been playing in this computer for almost two years now and since the update the game won't open. Already updated Windows, drivers, restarted Micosoft Store and even called Microsoft and Xbox Support. Non of them could help and I'm still looking forward to be able to play again.

My pc, in short, is 6 years old and has an Intel Celeron j1800 and has a GHz of 2.41 and the amount of ram it has is 4GB and I have a 1.5 GB of ram available. I have 350GB of hard drive available and if you need more info just ask since my Graphic card is intel graphic HD but IDK which number it is.

He actualizado mi Intel HD Graphics a la versión más reciente y sigue siendo el mismo, he actualizado todo lo que pude

I have updated my Intel HD Graphics to the newest version and it remains the same, I have updated everything that I could

Same has happened with me I have spent hours and hours attempting to fix this issue but to no avail. We have a realm server up with friends and I am sadly unable to play and left out. I updated Windows, drivers, used task manager, deleted and reinstalled. Nothing works. I will be counting down the days til this issue is fixed. So I can finally play with friends. Plz fix.
Thank You.

this same thing is happening to me i have tried everything i have uninstalled reinstalled 4 times i have updated everything but on my other computer it works find both computers have the same specs. please fix.
Thank you

1.16.201 released, i updated and didnt fix.

Hello, i have updated minecraft but it still doesnt works. the flashing problem stands. i have my drivers updated by the way

Still an issue even after updating to 1.16.201 with the latest drivers from Intel

It's still not working.

Btw, I don't know why this is tagged as resolved when clearly is not.

Whoever set the status of this bug as resolved is gravely mistaken. As of the posting of this comment, the bug is not fixed. Please change the status back to "Open".
Thanks

disabled video card just to check if I got the update ... yes 1.16.201 , not working same red screen blink

If you are experiencing this issue, it would be very helpful for the devs if you would please open the Microsoft Store app on your device, navigate to "Minecraft" (not the Starter or Master Collection), and then select System Requirements and please post what you observe. Attaching your dxdiag to the post would be greatly appreciated, please.

EDIT found it

Tried new MInecraft version 1.16.201 and still not solved. Tried wsereset the Microsoft Store, deleting and reinstalling the game and such, game still not launching, tough.

What is your graphics card and latest driver info? If you could provide your dxdiag info and a screen capture of your Microsoft Store page for Minecraft, as seen above, we would truly appreciate it!

1.16.201 still doesn't fix the flashing problem it still won't load I'm hoping this bug will be fixed sooner or later. Also, my driver is up to date so I'm pretty sure the problem is the game or the driver problem or the directX problem so can you pleas fix it in 1.16.202

It would also be helpful to know if players have tried updating their drivers via Intel directly, and if that has resolved the issue.
More info:

the issue has not been solved in 1.16.201

I used Intel's Driver Assistant, and I have the latest drivers for my hardware.
The issue persists.

Same issue on multiple Lenovo 11e laptops. Integrated Intel graphics, Win10 pro 64. Drivers up to date through Lenovo System Update App. Intel update tool suggests using Lenovo App.
Win 10 version doesn't seem to make a difference, updated to latest OS also. Was working fine prior to 1.16.200. Flashing red with 1.16.200 and 1.16.201. With 1.16.201 also a flashing white screen before flashing red again.
Win 10 store says laptops meet system requirements for Minecraft.

Two days ago, I uninstalled my Intel HP Graphics driver from 2017 and reinstalled the latest driver (2020) via the Intel Driver and Support Assistant. There was no change. Minecraft still showing alternating red and black screens and will not launch.

I downloaded and installed every important and optional update within Windows Update, and updated my integrated graphic card's driver with the Intel Driver Support Assistant, it shows that my drivers and software are up to date (screenshot attached), but Minecraft still doesn't work even after the new update. The Microsoft Store also says that my device should be able to run Minecraft (sorry if the attached screenshot displays it in Spanish). Here's the dxdiag report:

Wasn't aware this was an issue until now. My dual graphic comp was running fine on 1.16.200. Version 1.16.201 results in the same issue everyone else is having when using integrated graphics, but not when using dedicated graphics. All graphics drivers and OS is up to date. Will add my system info attachment to everyone else's.

I suggest everyone try, once a gain, to install and uninstall the game. I did this after the new pacht and my game started working

Tried uninstalling and reinstalling as suggested by João Paulo Freitas Barros. Did not work.

Tried uninstalling and reinstalling as suggested by João Paulo Freitas Barros. Did not work.

All windows updates applied including optional updates. The Intel Driver Support Assistant did find a driver update not included in windows update. Minecraft update 1.16.20102.0 installed (uninstalled/reinstalled)
Had no issues for months until the recent update. All steps so far have not resolved the issue on my laptop. Still unable to open Minecraft.

the problem is within the graphics controller more recently returning to the previous graphics controller the game opened me

Please make sure to update in your Microsoft store > downloads and update > Minecraft
Then Update.
If it is worked,
For those still affected by the issue, if you haven't mentioned your CPU type or shared your dxdiag info, could you do so please?
Also, if you open the Windows Store, navigate to Minecraft, and view the System Requirements page, does it show that your device is compatible?

Hre's my screen at Microsoft Store, it's in Spanish but hopefully that's not an issue. It says that the game should run in my computer. And it actually did before the 1.16.200 update.

As per Mega_Spud's request: Device is compatible under Windows Store system requirements. CPU type is Intel Core i7-9750H CPU @ 2.60GHz (12 CPUs), ~2.6GHz. Device is dual graphics device: works fine when using NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650, fails when using Intel UHD Graphics 630. I want to use the integrated graphics. All drivers and programs are up to date. Attached dxdiag to case. Thanks.

I still have this issue whether I have use the latest HP specific driver or the latest Intel generic driver for my Intel HD Graphics (Bay Trail).
Minecraft for Windows 10 in the Microsoft Store says "This Product Should Work on this Device."

Hello
I also have the same problem with Minecraft like the others here (I cannot start the game, it is flashing on red screen). Update didin't solve the problem, I have the latest drivers from Intel (through Intel Driver&Support Assistant). I attach screenshots from Microsoft Store (sorry for language, it means that Minecraft should work on my computer) and dxdiag.

Stucked in RED screen while using Intel HD Graphics 4600, instead it works fine when using GPU Nvidia Quadro K1100m.
2 Days ago the issue was also with GPU, then i fixed it with an GPU driver updated... Unfortunately there is not an update for the Intel HD Graphics 4600 card at the moment.

I have this RED SCREEN as well. Mojang, FIX your game, I hate it. I just got this issue too, with my NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M. It only starts working if I disable NVIDIA in my device manager but that's a HASSLE for me to do every computer restart and reboot. I hate it and I want it FIXED, PLEASE thank you.

how do you disable GeForce 405M?
I am having the red flashing screen as well on my windows 10 laptop and updated all drives and everything but it didn't fix the problem.... my son has been waiting for 3 weeks now to be able to play the game. Any help will be appreciated.

The bug tracker is not a discussion forum. Comments here are for adding information relevant to understanding or fixing the reported bug.
Comments are not for expressing yourself, carrying on a conversation with other users, asking for status updates, or just saying "me too" without adding any information. Those kind of comments just make it harder to find useful information and are subject to removal.

ok ... let`s put something in bed ...it is NOT driver issue and can prove it as I said in my previous comments ( removed by mods ) I own several pcs and laptops , can check my info and jpg uploaded by me that I reported that the game is not working with driver from intel (the latest one ) version 10.18.10.5161 but in another laptop the same driver version is working fine !!! see d3d 11.2 too ...
[media][media][media]
@unknown: We had already come to the conclusion that it's not simply a matter of updating drivers, which is why we stopped giving advice about how to do that. We've had some discussions with the Mojang testing team (something we don't normally have the ability to do) and they've seen everybody's reports and attachments. The problem seems to be strongly tied to Direct3D DDI 11.2, but only in combination with certain older integrated graphics chipsets, and it can also be triggered by fallback onto such chipsets when a dedicated GPU is disabled.
It's up to Mojang now to figure out why it's not working, or to ask for more information if they need it. There's nothing more we can do at this time.

ok Auldrick ... and thank U ... that`s the kind of answer we all need ... now I know that U did all that U can ... the rest is in mojang-nvidia hands

Alright, Mr. mod sorry for the comment of something irreverent and I'm hoping Mojang will figure something soon I'm sure the drivers were not the problem but something else I hope you'll figure something else soon.

Same problem, yesterday I updated it (1.16.201) and since then the red screen does not load but I can hear the music. Here are my drivers (Dell Laptop):
In addition to that I have a nvidia NVS 4200M card (I use usually this)

Reminder: The bug tracker is staffed by community volunteers, not Mojang employees. We cannot help you with anything except submitting a bug report. We don't know when they work on bugs. I'm not sure how useful this is to anyone but I was having this problem with nothing but a red screen after install on on windows 10 laptop. I have just done a windows update to Version 20H2 (OS Build 19042.685) and Minecraft now works!

I contacted Minecraft support about the loading screen flashing red issue explanating it, and they sent me here. I still don't know how to fix it and the version of Minecraft I am running is version 1.16.201. it's whatever the latest version is as of 12/21/2020.

Hi Guys,
I have Intel HD 3000 & Nvidia Geforce 5400 - I did few recommendation (not sure if all required but finally Minecraft is working for me)
1) Steps from this manual - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-u11-c92W-8&feature=youtu.be&ab_channel=KBShaken&fbclid=IwAR3Bsfgs7G9DB6HCH-Z4qoTWnc45RuEU_XyIVGGOXVzj7tygR2HeAxyT3ms
2) Installed windows update to Version 20H2 (OS Build 19042.685)
Still Minecraft Was not working
So I disabled Nvidia Geforce 5400 from Device Manager and Minecraft started working ....

I did what Maciek did (disabling the Nvidia in Device Manager) and Minecraft started working for me too.
Edit: Want to specify that I didn't do all the steps, just the disabling part. It still worked, at least for me.

Hello @Maciek, thank you very much for a nice workaround, while I disabled my NVIDIA card in device manager, Minceraft game works fine (no more constant RED SCREEN)
My laptop setup is:
Intel Core i7-2630QM (Intel HD Graphics 3000)
NVIDIA GeForce GT 550M
Anyway it would be nice to have it fixed - 1.16.200 worked like a charm on this setup.

So, what if I play Minecraft in a HP Laptop that is updated to the latest of everything and I still can´t do anything about the flashing screen. It´s been 2 months, common... No one has even seen my messages or attempted to communicate with me...

@unknown: Did you read the instructions for using the site? Or the highlighted text in the description? You have the wrong idea about what the bug tracker is for. It is not a customer support site, it's only a place to report a bug. We are not Mojang employees and we don't have access to their internal systems. All we do is collect your reports, combine duplicates, verify that the problem is reproducible, add any additional information we can discover, and pass it on to the developers. After that we're out of the loop until they include a fix in a future release, or otherwise tell us they're done with it.
For community support, visit the Minecraft Discord. They're not Mojang employees there either, although some of the developers and Community Managers hang out there sometimes.

MCPE-110942 as been closed because it is a duplicate of this one.
I just wanted mention that I have the same behaviour but without the blinking ? Hope this helps
I have two graphical devices in device manager
Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050
Intel UHD Graphic 630
Normally The intel is disabled, When I enable it graphics get ugly but Minecraft starts

Disabling Graphics Makes Your Computer Slow .Minecraft 1.16.200 or above needs GPU .So Please Try to disable GPU Usage In Minecarft

I've got the same problem about 4-5 days ago.
When I start minecraft the mojang logo appears then the screen turns red az freezes.
I've tried to reinstall the game the store and even re installed the computer. ( it had to be done anyway 😃 )
Thank you foward for any advice.

I have the same problem since 1.16.200 and it is still in effect in the 1.16.201 hotfix. Even so, I hope to provide some information, I hope it is useful:
I have two computers (with quite discreet characteristics), the desktop one is the one that has this flickering problem, which prevents me from starting the game, on the other hand, the laptop (which is quite old) can open the game without problems and it works perfectly.
I read that it was possibly the version of Direct3D 11.2, I do not plan to point out anything or draw conclusions, but the laptop (in which the game works) has Direct3D 10. I publish this in order to provide information that I hope is useful, just that .
I add that the drivers are updated on both computers, so I don't think that's the problem.

I have similar issue.
I just bought it for my son and after installing it, it remains with red flashing screen.

The same here - Just installed game on fresch PC and only red sceen is blinking,...?

Hey, I don't know if this a customer question or not if it is I'm sorry I don't know the difference between the question and the customer ones anyway my question is that people were able to play Minecraft by disabling their GPUs or graphic processer I only have an intel® HD graphics for intel atom® processor z3700 series which is about 6-7 years old And I'm wondering if disabling it will it crash/break my Desktop since if there is no processer to turn the algorithm to pixels for the screen I'm just being cautious before I advance onto any more steps.

Same problem since last update.
This video shows a solution that worked for me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jFudYYYy3aI
Just had to change the video performance settings for minecraft to high performance.
Worked even without reseting the game (as the video suggests).
[media]
@unknown: That's not really a question for here, but I think if you only have the Intel HD Graphics and you disable it, you won't be able to play the game at all. Worse, you might even have problems running Windows. I wouldn't even recommend trying that, but if you decide to try it anyway, make sure you take a system restore point first. That way, if Windows can't start after the change, it will back it out when you reboot.

Hardory's comment (https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MCPE-102530?focusedCommentId=884368&page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel#comment-884368) worked perfectly for me. Dell E6540, all drivers are current.

We just purchased Minecraft for Windows 10 and am experiencing the same issues. We have updated the Graphics driver and setup Minecraft to run with HD graphics. Nothing is working,

With Intel graphics, I set to high performance and reset app per suggestions above. This did not fix the issue. Also I assume it deleted any local worlds on my pc.

Minecraft never failed me until the last Windows update 4 days ago. I deleted it, reset my PC, installed additional drivers to fix my Javascript and graphics, and reinstalled Minecraft. Nothing worked on my end. Tried the video tip above, and it's still stuck on the red flashing screen. Also, Minecraft would not reset on my PC for some reason. I'm on an Acer laptop with Intel graphics and all up-to-date drivers. I have the Windows 10 version 2004.

Some information on my system that may help Mojang diagnose the issue.
Similar symptoms as others
Solid red screen after Mojang logo fades.
Can hear Minecraft music.
Cannot interact with screen besides full-screen or window mode.
Notes:
I've read that driver updates are not working but just stating my setup for context.
I've tried some suggested solutions without success - will detail below.
I can't disable Intel graphics in the Bios since it's the Dell OEM bios so no useful settings there.
I'm not sure why there's mention of Direct 3D DDI 11.2 but my driver says Direct3D DDI 11.1
Hardware summary (the details are in the DXDiag report):
Dell XPS 15 L502X laptop
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2670QM
Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000
NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M - This is nVidia switchable graphics so it has to pass through from the Intel integrated graphics.
Software and driver summary
Minecraft for Windows 10 version 1.16.1xx used to run nice and smooth.
Minecraft for Windows 10 version 1.16.2xx starts, shows the Mojang name, the name fades and I'm left with a red screen; no flashing; just solid red.
Windows 10 has the latest updates including optional updates installed.
Latest nVidia GeForce drivers installed (it's old; no updates since 23/03/2018 11:00:00 AM).
Latest Intel drivers installed
What I've tried:
Disable the Intel display adaptor in device manager and restart Windows.
I'm able to run Minecraft but it's using default Windows drivers so has a very low framerate (stutters on main menu).
Both Intel and nVidia display adaptors enabled in device manager; GeForce 3D settings (global and MineCraft app) use nVidia graphics and restart Windows.
Minecraft hangs at red screen; does not appear to be using nVidia graphics according to the nVidia "GPU Activity Icon" in the system tray even though other apps are using it.
Both Intel and nVidia display adaptors enabled in device manager; GeForce 3D settings (global and MineCraft app) use integrated graphics and restart Windows.
Minecraft hangs at red screen; does not appear to be using nVidia graphics according to the nVidia "GPU Activity Icon" in the system tray even though other apps are using it.
Changed the Windows "Graphics Settings" to "Performance" for the "Minecraft" "Desktop App".
What's interesting or odd is that Windows settings only shows "Intel (R) HD Graphics 3000".
I've never looked at this setting before so don't know if it was different.
What I know is that game performance was good (no stutter or lag) when playing previously and seemed smoother than my desktop PC (Intel HD Graphics 4600 only - don't have discreet graphics on that setup) so it's likely the laptop was using the nVidia graphics at that time, not the Intel HD graphics 3000.

Guys!
Update ( from me ) with the new windows update the game works for me.
It's a bit long update but the game is running again for me.

@Csirro: What version and build of Windows is it? I haven't updated to Windows 10 Version 20H2 - I might give that a try as well.

Just updated to Windows 10 20H2 and same behaviour.
[media][media]
Disabling the nVidia GPU in Device Manager does allow the game to run but it's quite laggy and you can definitely see it's low framerate and not good on the eyes.
If you're desperate to play then you could but I think this would just give me a headache.
I won't let my son play like this but at least he can claim the Christmas "gifts" from the marketplace.
[media]
I have Windows 10, version 20H2 right now and it solved the problem.
I did the gpu update and cpu update aswell but I think the "new" windows did the job.

Just so there's no frustration about a lack of response here: This report has matured and has been reported to Mojang for a fix. The bug tracker staff monitor comments of mature reports for new information, which we pass along to Mojang if it happens. But when a report reaches this stage, most subsequent comments are just "me too" or "fix this NOW!", which we ignore because the only thing we're looking for is additional new bug information. (Note: We're just community volunteers, we're not Mojang.)

@Auldrick Just for reference, I do use Jira at work so I was wondering how I'd know when an issue is "mature" and "reported to Mojang" since there's nothing that indicates this unless I've missed it.

I've played the game on every version of Minecraft released so far. I have been primarily playing Windows 10 for about 2 years now and have a realm Ive set up that I play every day. This same issue came up last year on my old laptop yet a simple uninstall and reinstall of the game fixed everything. Now I have a newer and much more expensive computer and the same issue happened last night while playing. I tried the same strategy as last time and no luck. Also dont now if this helps but I can hear the main menu music in the background as well as buttons being interacted with when I click where they would be. Its almost like the screen stays red but the game actually loads.

@Lucas, until there is a fix to this, a way to bypass the red screen and play the game (however laggy it may be) is pretty easy. In the Device Manager you can disable the Display Adapters and the game will run. While the game is running, if you then enable those same adapters, the game stays normal. As soon as the game is closed, if the Display Adapters are on, the red screen bug will happen.
This method works for me with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050. The game will most likely be laggy and such, but you can play it.

So far, disabling my NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M has fix this issue, no lagging for me at all. I just have to disable this every time I play Minecraft, other games I have to enable it. Hopefully the bug gets fixed soon.

Same issue. Interestingly enough, my laptop with Intel HD Graphics has this problem but my desktop with the same graphics does not. I have updated the graphics driver on both and it did not help the laptop.

Reminder: This is not a community support web site. Please use comments to provide additional information that might help the developers understand the problem. Other uses are subject to removal. If you want to discuss the issue with each other, please use a site intended for that purpose, such as the Minecraft Discord.

the same thing happens to me i have hd intel graphics card. Ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game but it didnt work.

Has the cause of this issue been pinpointed yet? Is there an ETA on a fix?

We don't have access to such information on the bug tracker. A Community Manager can find out for you. Try the Minecraft Discord, Twitter, or the MCPE Reddit.
I'll warn you though that you'll almost never get an ETA for a software fix, because you can't predict how long it will take to fix something until 99% of the work has already been done. For Minecraft specifically, a new release has to be certified by the various app store teams, who aren't even Mojang staff, so even Mojang doesn't know it's ready to go for certain until the last app store has certified it. At that point, publishing it is just a flip of a switch at each store, so there's no time for advance announcement.
On the other hand, a Community Manager might be able to give you some idea of how much trouble they're having with the problem, which is kind of what you're really wanting to know (although it's only moderately good at predicting the time to repair). So asking them is worth a try.

I have a Dell Vostro 3750 (i7-2630QM / GT 525M) with NVIDIA GeForce GT 525M in my Laptop with a INTEL HD3000 onBoard graphic. If I deactivate the GeForce Card, the game will start, but of cause the grafic is very bad.
If the GeForce is activate I only see a red screen and after a while a can hear the backgroundmusic.
I reinstall the whole Laptop (yes, new windows installation and all drivers are up to date), but nothing helps.
The same problem have a friend of mine - this has been the case since christmas :(

Yeah, this problem seems to affect nvidia 500M optimus hardware.

And affects standard onboard intel, which is the only graphic card we have.

Many ppl without other graphic card than onboard intel HD graphic - have the same issue.

I have a pretty trash pc but the thing is that before this came up the game was running super well so I'm confused as to what is going on?
I'm happy that I found other people with this issue because a lot of others had no clue what this was.

I also had an intel pc, celeron, I had to reinstall the game and windows 10. I here with otar pc that is going great

I have two graphic cards on my Dell Inspiron N5110:
NVIDIA GeForce GT 525M
Intel HD Graphics 3000
I've had the drivers updated, and only disabling the NVIDIA card made the game run somehow. Laggy, but possible to play.
Yesterday happened something and disabling NVIDIA didn't work until I installed the older version of the NVIDIA card driver. Reseting the game, uninstalling it, trying to force the game to run with NVIDIA card (disabling the other Intel card) doesn't work as well.

Similar story for me, Dell Inspiron with Intel HD Graphics (think it was 790). Drivers were already up to date, updated Windows to 20H2 and it did nothing, disabling the graphics card made the game run but with unplayable lag. Hoping for a fix soon.

I have a Lenovo ThinkPad 10 that has an (Intel(R) Atom(TM) CPU Z3795 @ 1.60GHz 1.60 GHz) processer and have the same flickering problem.

It's weird... I have the same issue. But if I disable graphics driver - it is starting to load the game...

With the minecraft version on my laptop (Toshiba Qosmio) I had a red screen when minecraft started. Tried updating the laptop to Windows 20H2, but this didn't resolve the issue.
I tried installing the latest geforce driver for the GeForce GTX 560M but this didn't resolve the issue. Found this thread and disabled the GeForce graphics card, now it runs on the bult in Intel HD Graphics 3000, but on opening minecraft it gives an error that I need to update the graphics card. (as shown in this post: https://help.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/articles/360053235571#graphicdrivers) However, when I visit the Intel page there are no newer drivers, neither the GeForce graphics driver can be updated (as I already downloaded the latest one, which was from 2018).
The minecraft version I use is 1.16.20102.0

Same problem. After update minecraft stopped working. Stuck on red screen, music starts to play but nothing change. I wasn't updating Windows 10(1809) or graphic cards drivers so game should works. In my opinion it's minecraft update fault.

The following workarround works while developers team can fix the issue, tested on a laptop that have Intel Graphics 3000 and NVIDIA 540M, if you have only one display adapter such as only Intel Graphics, this solution will not work:
Ensure you have Intel graphics installed and running (probably checked, since Windows automatically installs it)
Open device Manager (Click on Start and type device manager)
Expand Display adapters (if you have Intel Graphics AND also NVIDIA, this workarround might work for you, if no, please desist)
Right click on NVIDIA GeForce GT 5xxM
Disable the device (NVIDIA), and accept the device will no longer operate
Open Minecraft
You can always re-activate NVIDIA device when you stop playing Minecraft.

Hello, may I ask if this issue is FIXED in the latest beta build? I wanna see if any progress happened

The bug tracker staff are just volunteers from the community, not Mojang employees. We only have the same information about the status of a bug as is available to you. So all I can tell you is that this ticket has not been listed as fixed in the latest Beta changelog.

I have 2 pcs one is without GPU but it has Intel(R) HD Graphics And One Is With GPU And Intel Graphics 5500 So With GPU PC Perfectly Plays it but It has microsoft sign in and sign out problem while in Without GPU pc it flashes

Affects 1.16.21056.0 also if that is relevant.

This started happening to me a few weeks ago. I cannot play. I launch it and the Mojang screen comes up briefly but then turns solid red and stays that way. I can tell that the game has started by the audio that is still working and if I click my mouse in appropriate places, I even appear to be able to play it. I just see only blank red. Is this the same issue everyone else here is having? has anyone figured out a way to see Minecraft again? Reinstalling didn't help me.

Workaround: turn off NVIDIA graphics card in device manager

is this pc that affects the red screen

*Warning*
Downgrading to an earlier version of Minecraft is not supported by Mojang. Attempting to open a world in an earlier release than the latest one it was opened in is very likely to corrupt the world beyond repair.

Can't launch Minecraft for Windows 10. It has been happening for almost a month. When we click on the app (which is installed on our PC), just the red screen comes up. It used to at least play the music, but now nothing happens. It just sits there. We have tried many of the recommendations from Microsoft and from your website but nothing seems to help. We have uninstalled and reinstalled, and reset the app. We also tried the workaround that was suggested above. We still have a red screen as shown in many of the attachments above.

The computer that my son plays Minecraft on is experiencing this issue as well. It seems to have started after the last set of updates. I found a bunch of suggested work arounds that indicate the the video card could be a possible cause of the issue. As well as talking about the introduction of ray tracing. On this computer he has always had an issue with playing the game on the secondary integrated GeForce 550M (the game stutters) so the application was already set to favor the Integrated Intel 3000 graphics card. Thinking it could possibly be a driver issue I attempted to update both the video drivers. In the process an issue occurred where I could only select the primary intel graphics card, the 550m no longer showed up in the graphic settings for the application in windows. In an attempt to resolve the issue with the secondary video card not showing up I uninstalled the GeForce 550m driver and deleted the the device via device manager. As a why not attempt, I launched Minecraft with the GeForce 550m driver removed and without windows recognizing the device was present. Minecraft loaded an a ray tracing warning dialog popped up. I just happened to have device manager open right behind the Minecraft app, and I noticed right at the time the ray tracing dialog popped up a device rescan kicked off and the computer started to install the GeForce 550m device. Maybe it was just a coincidence. I closed the Minecraft app, and relaunched but I got the red screen with background music again. To confirm the result I closed Minecraft again, deleted the GeForce 550m device, and re-launched Minecraft. The application started without issue. But it triggered a device rescan.
Maybe there is an issue in the routine that is checking the video card compatibility for ray tracing support when multiple devices are present? If there are details that I left out that might be helpful, just let me know and I will be happy to try to provide them. Thanks!

Same issue here. Flashing red screen and game fails to load. The last update seems to have broken the game for me. The workaround, pinned at the top of this thread, doesn't work for me.
I have installed the latest graphics driver, via the 'Intel Driver & Support Assistant'.

Here's the details, which I hope helps the Developers to fix this for us all soon.
It's been 3 months since this was originally reported, so I can't see it taking them much longer.

Doesn't work even I updated driver and updated to 1.16.201 Hotfix

Help me please! I updated the Intel driver and there are no problems in DirectX

@unknown: I'm sorry, but the staff of the bug tracker cannot help you solve your problem as that is not our purpose. Our job is to help people create bug reports and submit them to Mojang. We then have to wait, along with everybody else, for Mojang to fix them. For more information about how the bug fixing process works, please see the Bug Tracker FAQ.
If you're looking for somebody to work interactively with you to try and fix your problem, the place for that is the Minecraft Discord. It's always a good idea to try the Discord first before reporting a bug, because if your problem can be fixed that way, it will be much faster.

same issue as everyone else i also have intel graphics and my directx ddi is 11.2

I've got this error as well, I'm on pc and don't have an external graphics card. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, updating widows and the graphics drivers, and the graphics setting change suggested at the top.

Same issue here - GTX 1080 - while playing game suddenly screen goes red and i have to restart game - sometimes several times.
All started to happen after upgrade to 20H2 - i am having issues with multiple games hanging, crashing etc - was not happening on previous version.
Latest drivers(reinstalled with DDU), firmware latest, no OC.

Strange detail: I’ve got a laptop, after update to Windows 20H2 the game stopped launching. But when I disconnected the RTX 2070 and left Intel integrated graphics only, Minecraft launched properly (but low FPS, of course).
My laptop also got an HDMI, that works only if RTX 2070 is connected. And when I connect the second display, the game launches with discrete GPU on properly.
If need some logs and/or tests, please tell me where to get them.
ADDED: After some cycles of plugging & unplugging RTX 2070 and second monitor via devmgmt.msc, Minecraft started running as it supposed to. The bug disappearance was as unexpected as its appearance.

i also have this problem. before updating my driver to NVIDIA GeoForce 410M (I updated my drivers because minecraft java did not work), i can opening game. but it have very lag (microsoft basic display) but in the NVIDIA , i cant opening game. its only showing red frame and closing. i have Intel core i5

tenho mesmo problema,como resolver isso
Translation: I have the same problem. How do you fix it?

@unknown: The bug tracker is only for reporting bugs. The staff here are volunteers from the community, not Mojang employees, and our purpose is to help you prepare bug reports and forward them to the developers. We don't have the ability to directly help you with problems other than creating bug reports.
Community support is available from the Minecraft Discord. However, some of the commenters above describe some things that have given them limited success, so it might be a good idea to browse through the comments first for some ideas you could try.
In the future, please use English on the bug tracker. If you're not comfortable with English, online translation software usually does a good enough job to communicate the basics of what you want to say.

this is happening on my iPhone, but it doesn’t flash. The red logo shows up, then the game disappears and I’m back on the Home Screen. Why does Mojang think the problem on a PC is the same as an issue on the iPhone? All of the iPhone bug reports are closed as duplicates. Wrong! I got a brand new iphone12 and it can’t play a game that worked just fine on my old 6s. There should be a SEPARATE bug tracker for PCs, as the root cause and even the issue itself is different than what is described above.

This report is only for Windows 10. If you have a report that was closed as a duplicate of this one, please tell us which one it is, because I believe that is a mistake (ours, not Mojang's) and I'll see to correcting it.
Having a separate bug tracker of each platform (or for any single platform) would not be a good idea, as more than 90% of all bugs are in shared code.

This also occurs on PS4. Perhaps you should change the "affects platforms" part to include all the affected platforms? Also, a work around to this on PS4 is to uninstall the application (by hovering over it, clicking the options button on controller and selecting Delete) and then reinstall it. All of your files and data, including your worlds and trophies, will be retrieved once you reinstall, but keep a back up just in case. If you own a disc, inserting the disc automatically reinstalls the game. If you bought it from the PS store, you can retrieve it from the Game Library.

90% of all bugs are in shared code, but the detailed code for graphics is very dependent on the hardware in use, and I think that varies a lot from one platform to another (although Xbox and Windows would be the same). If the hardware is different, the code has to be different too, so I don't think combining platforms into one ticket would be the best idea in this case.

Is there a separate bug tracker for this issue with just Intel video? I do not have a computer with two video adapters that some have reported they can get past this issue.

There is no separate report, but you aren't the only person with just one graphics processor on this ticket. I realize you don't want to read this entire long list of comments just to find out if your configuration has been reported (I don't want to, either) so I recommend that you edit your comment to tell us what kind of graphics processor you have, for example "Intel HD Graphics 530". We don't need a lot of details because it's probably already been reported, but just in case.

Ever since 1.16.200 came out I couldn't load the game once, and I know there's no reason for my hardware to be outdated because it was just fine before this update and there was no announcement of discontinuation of pc software either. It hasn't been fixed for 3 months now, which is kind of absurd. Please fix this soon, I'm surprised this wasn't at least on "known issues" on the 1.16.21 changelog.

same i cant after the 1.16.21 thing update-

@Ziad El-Moursy: the PS4 issue is MCPE-84790, and it is not related to this issue even though they may look similar.

It won't work still flashing.

Hi!
I'm using Minecraft for Windows 10 and I have the same problem since 1.16 update. After Minecraft support's suggestion I contacted Microsoft support : no solution found. Then they redirected me to Windows support : no solution found...
It's been 5 months, players are tired... It would be REALLY fine if Mojang could make something or at least inform us that they are looking for something (not that we are hundreds who have paid the game and can't play... Haha!)
It's a bit shamefull to be as big as Mojang and can't fix a problem like that,I really hope we can have REAL (hopefully good) news soon...
Thanks

@unknown: I appreciate your frustration, but the bug tracker isn't the place to ask for a status update, as we don't have access to that kind of information. We're just community volunteers here and we only have the same access to Mojang as you do. Questions like yours should be directed to the Community Management team.

Not working for me for 3 weeks now stuck on flashing red screen

Hi,
I've seen everyoby with this problem using Intel HD Graphics but Microsoft asks for Intel HD Graphics 4000 to correctly open Minecraft for Windows 10.
Does this mean something?
If yes, how are we supposed to change that??
Thanks

Intel HD Graphics is the generic name for a line of integrated graphics processors manufactured by Intel. Intel HD Graphics 4000 is a specific member of that line and is the minimum graphics processor needed to run Minecraft for Windows 10. In other words, you need an Intel HD Graphics 4000 or another graphics processing unit with equal or higher specifications.
The Intel HD Graphics processors are integrated, which means you can't replace them physically, but in some cases you can install what's called a "discrete" GPU, a graphics card that you install as a peripheral. You can then disable the integrated graphics and let the GPU take over its job. Whether and how you can do this is beyond the scope of the bug tracker, however. Please consult the Minecraft Discord for further help and guidance.

Unfortunately, it's been a while the Minecraft Discord is full so I won't be able to consult it...

@unknown: I believe that when a Discord is "full", it's just temporarily at its maximum number of signed on users. It probably told you try again later. Did you?

Hi, im having a hard time following these pictures, anyone who could maybe write some instructions?

@unknown: I'm not sure what pictures you're referring to, but in general attachments are meant to provide information for the developers, not to help you solve this problem. For interactive community help, please try the Minecraft Discord. The bug tracker is only for reporting bugs.

Everyone I found a solution to this!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZkFXM8_tqA&ab_channel=Mr.RBGaming

The solution suggested in the video mentioned by Lithout relies on changing your graphics adapter drivers in Device Manager to a non-recommended setting. It could result in reduced performance and/or loss of some graphics functionality, in Minecraft as well as in other games or apps. Because it's not a standard configuration Mojang is not responsible for fixing such problems, so be aware of that before choosing this as a solution. However, if it works for you, you may be satisfied to use it at least until an official fix is made available. Note: You must have administrator permissions to make changes in Device Manager, so you may not be able to use this solution.

Yeah it goes a bit laggy ngl, I'll just use it until an official fix is available
I've been testing a bit and it goes laggier past 1.16.200, I think because of the render dragon

There's no doubt that RenderDragon brought new performance problems with it. That's par for the course when you make major changes in the heart of any app. But RenderDragon isn't just a plug-compatible replacement for the old rendering engine; it brings new capabilities that are needed for new features in 1.17 and beyond. So although sometimes people suggest that RenderDragon should be backed out until its performance is improved, if that were to actually happen, Caves & Cliffs would have to be postponed and many of those same people would get bored and move on to some other game. We just need to be patient and give Mojang time to find ways to improve performance.

You can try contacting a Community Management team member, who might be able to tell you about that.
How can I contact? Should it be done via Mojang site or some other way?

@unknown:
The Minecraft Discord or Twitter are ways you might be able to reach them.
I think Community Managers have their own role list on the Discord. On Twitter, try starting with @MattGartzke and looking for others among his You Might Like links.

May I ask is it fixed for the 1.17 update?

I just tried and no, it's not fixed yet, I think that when an official fix is available they will announce it here as fast as possible

Checked the 1.17 changelog. This ticket was not listed as fixed. (Just like you, we depend on the changelog for fix notifications.)

@unknown: If that's what you want, it's up to you. But in any case, I think you know by now that the staff here are just community volunteers, not Mojang employees, so there's no point in telling us your frustration. Or in writing about it in a bug report, where it just adds noise that interferes with people trying to find useful information. That's why we remove off-topic comments.

What does "confirmation status" mean? Does it mean the info on this ticket is up to date or that we've confirmed Mojang is aware of the issue or anything of the sort?

Please read the Bug Tracker FAQ and Bug Tracker Guidelines before adding further comments / questions.

So just as a friendly heads up and reminder
Downloading unknown files from the internet is never a good idea as the video that was shared directs you to do. These files may contain malware that can harm you computer or be used to collect data while appearing to accomplish a different purpose. This file appears to be an unofficial modified version of Minecraft for windows 10. Due to security concerns as well as possible legal implications of this download, we highly recommend that you do not follow the instructions contained in or share the video shared by @unknown. I understand that this bug completely makes the game unusable on many devices (mine included) but rest assured, Mojang is looking into the problem and for a way to fix it without simply going backwards (as it is not an option at this point).

just to add that Minecraft not only presents a crash when starting in Windows 10 with integrated graphics cards, it also registers increases in the consumption of the ram memory. In less than 2 minutes it starts with 120mb, goes to 500mb, then 1GB and closes with 2.4GB of RAM consumption.

i managed to get into the minecraft official discord server and reported the issues in the bedrock support channel or whatever it was called and when i reported said issues not one soul tried to assist or give a solution. i figured they were looking into it after bringing it up twice since no one had responded in 2-4 weeks. i had asked a third time and was being ignored and left the server, im really not sure as to what to do cause its clear the discord server isnt willing to help

collis maloney: I'm sorry, but there's been some confusion about where to look for community support. The official Minecraft discord server is not the place for that, as it's not monitored for problems. You should be trying at the Community Support Discord. This might have been my mistake, as I had those two discord servers mixed up at one time. I'm sorry if I misled you. Please try this other Discord if you haven't already. (By the way, you should change your username in your bug tracker profile, as these names are exposed to the internet.)

An update for this issue, I just tried updating to 1.17.40 and it doesn't flash for me anymore. However, it stucked at red screen and not loading forever.

After the update 1.17.4006.0 this bug still happening. Sometimes it only shows the red screen but in some other moments starts flashing and crashes.

I have a similar issue, not mine doesn't blink red it is just a sold red. Seems to be linked to a general problem with Game Pass games not working. I've tried the workaround above as well and what seems like over a dozen other fixes all to no effect.
[media][media][media]

I can confirm that the workaround of using the 32-bit version of the app instead of the 64-bit version works!
I've got the game up and running on my Intel Classmate Marble Point laptop (Intel Celeron N2806 - Intel HD Graphics (Valleyview)) with no issues at all, however, I did have to disable automatic Store updates because the Store would keep trying to update back to the 64-bit version and break compatibility again.
DxDiag log and screenshots are attached.
[media][media][media]

It's no longer working as RenderDragon is applied for 32-bit from 1.18.30. There's no solution for it now (even the non-RenderDragon version) and we can only wait for updates.

Just updated to version 1.19, still doesn't work. Thankfully mobile exists.

Sometimes the loading bar gets stuck on 83% before crashing
I also did test out the x86 version and it also crashes.
I think this bug only affects Minecraft Bedrock on versions equal or higher than 1.19 as the version 1.18.31 works fine.

yeah, in 1.19.1003.0, doesn't work either, and tried everything
it is the same problem that it flashes red and black
[media][media][media]
Today it finally worked for me again, same machine same integrated graphics card (Intel HD graphics), same processor (Intel Celeron N2840 x2 2.16 GHz), only change that's been made to the laptop is the old hdd got swapped by an sdd, but that can't be it since I had already tried to run the game a few months back when said sdd was installed, I don't know what got changed, but I'm just glad it works again!

I can verify that the game now boots on my computer that was previously affected on 1.19.21 !

I have reinstalled Minecraft launcher from Microsoft store and updated the launcher at first run as asked by the app (do not ask why you need to update after installing the last version), and it works again !

i HOPE i dont get censored this time, but indeed game works now in 1.19.21, in low end devices it actually takes like 3 minutes in red screen but at some point it will actually launch, but there is a weird bug with camera
Reply from @unknown:
It's not censorship, it's enforcing the rules for comments as published in our Guidelines, which you were advised to read when you created your account. Please be sure to familiarize yourself with it.
Note that comments reporting that a bug is "fixed" are not really helpful, especially for hardware-related problems, because while it may be fixed on your device, that doesn't imply that it's fixed for everyone. When Mojang informs us that they've fixed an issue, we assume it's fixed for everyone (unless they tell us otherwise), so your confirmation isn't needed. Instead, tell us when a newly applied fix does not fix the issue for you, and provide additional information (including your platform and any change in the bug's behavior) so the devs can investigate it further.
Regarding your camera bug, please search for another report that describes it. You cannot report new bugs in a comment. If you're unable to find a report for it, feel free to create one following the format given in the Guidelines.
We believe this issue is resolved in the latest version when using the Windows Insider builds (25182 and on).

@unknown: Comments are to be used only to add new information that may be useful to the developers working on the problem. Our guidelines specifically prohibit using comments to criticize Mojang or the staff. Don't do it again.

I confirm the same problem with myself. At startup, or if you're lucky when the game is running, the screen flickers at different intervals. The latest version of the game is installed (v1.19.5101.0). Recently updated to the latest version of windows 10 pro (build 19045.2364). Built-in AMD Radeon HD 8330 graphics card with AMD 17.4.2 drivers. I found this problem after reinstalling windows. Before reinstalling, the game worked stably. I will note that the game worked well on relatively old versions of drivers on my video card (I will not be able to update the drivers, since new versions of drivers work unstable on the inserted card). When flickering, it also writes a notification that the application is blocked from accessing the graphics hardware. The question is what happened so that in identical conditions after reinstalling everything did not work?
[media][media][media][media]Resolving the issue as fixed, as we believe a recent update to Windows will have fixed the issue for those experiencing this problem. Please ensure that you have the latest updates available on your device.
For any other similar issues or crashes, please log them separately as per the issue guidelines. As always, please make use of the search feature to see if the issue has already been mentioned, and remember that without specific steps to reproduce the bug we are unlikely to be able to track the issue.
