Original title
G35 7.1 Surround Sound headset only playing sound fom Front Left and Front Right (Stereo)
my Logitech g35 headset is able to play 7.1 for Minecraft pc/java fine. the windows 10 version for some reason has 2 channels operating as if the headset is set to stereo. on top of that, I am missing sound for center and rear left and rear right; I can not hear my forward footsteps, block breaking, fire burning from behind, etc.
I do notice if the Logitech Gaming Software is uninstalled, the audio channel in default playback settings is 2 channels, there is no other settings. however if it is installed, it is set to 7.1 only. I am thinking if that is a contribution to the problem as the Gaming Software manages sounds in the default playback devices and perhaps the game does not recognize the third party audio controller.

still happens as of 0.16.1. I uploaded 2 videos: one in the Logitech g35 and the other by a surround sound speaker. although the record only made it stereo, you can definitely make out the difference, but the Logitech record may be quieter on the count that I was trying to get the audio recording to record the right playback device.
5.1-jackconnected.mp4: this was used by surround sound speakers that uses the multicolored jacks (green, yellow, black) and the sound can be heard from all around. no issue at all
7.1-OneUSB-LogitechG35.mp4: a 7.1 surround sound headset that requires Logitech gaming software to use all channels. otherwise without it, the headset will only play in two channels. note how the sound of breaking wood block is not centered, it is sided. not to mention you can't hear my footstep when I walk forward or back, only sides.
I thought it would be a windows 10 problem, as if all windows game apps is suffering from the same problem. this is not true, as Gears of War 4 can support the Logitech g35 with no issue when it first came out.
yep, as of v1.1.0 (1.1.55 in store) I can still only hear from the front left and right speaker of the headphone but still is treated as 7.1, giving a "broken 3 other speakers in headphone" feel
I'm having this issue as well. This actually makes the game unplayable for me. Sure would be nice if there were some advanced options in the sound menu other than just volume, that I could play with to maybe make it work in at least stereo.
I've tried disabling the surround on the headset, and re-configuring the headset in the windows sound panel. Just updated Logitech drivers, and this is still happening...and how is this unconfirmed?
I'm on 1.1.5 and this issue is reproducible...very easily. Just use logitech g35 headset. That's all you have to do. I'll add anything else if I find something useful.
I'm still trying to figure out any work around but this is VERY frustrating and it's been ONE YEAR since this has been reported! Somebody seriously needs to get their shit together. I'm sorry, I know that kind of attitude resolves nothing, but this has been a year now and nothing. No fix, no suggestions, no information at all about what else MIGHT be causing it (if it isn't a bug in minecraft). It's bad enough Microsuck decided to make ANOTHER VERSION (yes, I know win10 is basically PE...) of minecraft instead of FIXING THE JAVA Version (and by fixing, I mean getting the @$#% away from Java), but I have to deal with this kind of crap too? I just don't know how I can't complain about this. I'm playing in less than ideal conditions because I can't run a dedicated server, but my friends and I can't use Java because one of us has an oculus and the VR mods for the java one suck apparently, and even if we could play the Java one it has it's OWN issues and I'm just ranting now....I'm sorry. I'm not deleting anything I said because it's true and frustrating, but I'm not saying anything else off topic.
Just please, someone look into this or provide some useful information, a workaround or something. If I figure out something, I'll post it here, and I'm going to continue to try and figure out a fix or work around.
I've created a Feedback issue to protest the Bedrock team's refusal to address this long-standing issue. Please vote for the issue if you have been following this bug. Bedrock Edition should Support Digital Surround Sound – Minecraft Feedback
This issue seems to affect other kinds of digital surround sound as well. This is likely related: [MCPE-50616] Poor surround sound & background noise with Razer headsets - Jira (mojang.com)
Please re-open this bug. It does not appear to be brand- or headset- specific. This is a problem with Minecraft: Bedrock Edition.
RESOLVED audio on G930 headset!
I posted issue MCPE-71200 on this topic back in April and it has since been RESOLVED for me. In-game sound is better for me with both the surround and stereo software settings in Logitech Gaming Software (LGS).
My Setup:
Minecraft Bedrock (Windows 10) release 1.16.201
Logitech G930 headset connected with wireless USB dongle
LGS release 9.02
Windows 10 version 20H2 (latest)
When launching game: Ensure the headset dongle is plugged in FIRST and the headset's audio device is selected before starting Minecraft.
A friend told me that to get their Logitech audio to work properly with Minecraft they had to manually add Minecraft as a game within the Logitech software. I.e. the Logitech software did not recognize Minecraft as a game automatically. I do not have a Logitech device so that's the best I can describe it. I hope that helps.
I have used Logitech G hub and G 430 headset and have had the same problem, what seemed to fix it for me was going back to Logitech gaming software 9.02.65 2018 latest version or using a DTS surround sound tech in G hub, but it sound a little bit off for me. Might be only temporary fix but it works that way atlest.
