During gameplay, mobs (both hostile and not) and entities like boats and dropped items are becoming unrendered. At random intervals, mobs will become invisible yet will still be attacking and causing damage; also at random intervals, items dropped from mining will not appear until around two minutes after they're mined. Common thread is that all entities are doing this at random intervals, and they cannot be interacted with until they become visible again (mobs can't be damaged, items can't be picked up).

Also noticed this. You can't interact with items or mobs in at least some cases, definitely needs fixing.

I haven't noticed any problem with drops not appearing for a few minutes, but I have seen entities of all sorts disappearing for short periods at random.

Yup. Mobs disappearing when you get close to them. Re-appear when you go away again!
Also dropped items.
XBOX One and Windows 10; 1.2.13 updated when it started.

Também notei no meu minecraft do android. Tenho esperança de que seja rapidamente reparado pois estamos na transição para a atualização aquatica
If anyone discovers a reliable trigger to reproduce this bug please let us know!

I can confirm this has been happening since the 1.2.13 update playing on Windows 10.

This issue is not happening in freshly created world.
Only affecting my main wrorld which has many mobs fenced and redstones working.
Tested on Android.

I have a save game where I can reproduce this 100%, on my android. I've encountered this, and resolved it once by slaughtering many many mobs. Once I got a parrot this maybe got worse. There seems to be weird spots where things will reappear. Such as, when standing on this block I see the boat. I go closer, it disappears. Return to the original block, and I see it. Every time.
I think after enough game time stuff must have unloaded and I was able to get back on my boat (I killed my parrot). This seems to coincide with a large increase in my save game size.
I was or to recover in my original game but a copy of the world heavily affected by this remains (and my parrot still lives in the copy of the world)
Are you able to provide a copy of the world please?

@Mega_Spud I don't think the specific world matters. It's happened in multiple worlds since I first noticed the bug, and it would appear that I'm not the only one with the bug.

@mega_spud I would love to. How should I get it to you? It's about 300mb. And where exactly do I find it

How can I get it to you
Any file sharing site that you're comfortable with should do, then you can add the link here.

@Mega_Spud have been getting the same type of error last few days. random intervals visible to invisible.

I have seen this bug in my world as well (1.2.3, recently updated) on my Kindle Fire. Yesterday though I had two beds become invisible. I could still jump on them (even had the bounce), but when I clicked on them it crashed the program. They did not ever become visible even with restarting the program, moving far away from the beds and coming back, etc.
These beds would be a problem as they would crash the game when I invited friends to the world. I was able to get rid of them by placing blocks in the locations. It destroyed the bed, but what was odd is that I had to put blocks in both bed 'block' locations to destroy it, not just one.
If this occurs again, I will save a copy of my world to provide. Really a weird bug...

Very random. I've had issues with my normal world. Last night I created new survival world and after punching down trees, the log blocks would drop and appear to not hit the ground. Moving farther away they were there and would disappear when you got closer.
Yet, right now when I went into that same world, it appears to be working fine. And in my normal world, paintings and villagers were disappearing last night, but they're fine now.

I took a 30 second video (https://youtu.be/SGCt2jB2a6E) of this problem happening in a freshly created test world. It affected all three worlds I tried to play in, but the next day, the problem had resolved. 1.2.13 XBox One.

I'm not able to reproduce the issue anymore in 1.2.20.2, is anyone still seeing it in this version? I used to be able to reproduce it pretty easily with a minecart.

My saved game in which I became stuck (boats were disappearing) and in which I could reproduce 100% of the time loading this saved game, no longer is afflicted with the problem.
(running latest Android version 1.2.13)

I'm getting this on my current release version 1.2.13. Hopefully the next update will fix it. I'm doing quite a bit of horse riding, and my horse has taken to vanishing (forcing a dismount) then reappearing. It's REALLY hard to ride when I keep getting the vanishing-horse dismount. 😛
This is also happening with other passive mobs such as cows. It wasn't happening at all before today. This is really strange.

It also effects minecraft beta 1.5.0.0 (Bedrock)

I just had this issue on android 1.2.13. Everything had been fine. I was doing a lot of fishing and the fish button stopped working. Just after that this same issue of mobs - spiders, horses, etc would disappear when close. Bubbles still appeared for the spider in the water and it would do damage. I couldn't mount a horse or kill a cow without it disappearing. Mined blocks also stopped dropping things and I couldn't eject a CD from a juke box. All these glitches started together.

Now that it's happening, it happens in any new or saved world. The game is functionally bricked for me

Closing and restarting the game seems to have fixed it for now.I'll try to recreate

Mine was fine for many real-life days, now acting up again. I started a new world on creative: added cows in a fence, they appeared to not spawn but were there when I moved away.
I noticed that the Y axis does not matter. Even if I go way up in the sky the cows didn't appear, only if I moved away on X or Z axis

Had the same problem on Xbox one version 1.2.13. Items and mobs all disappear when I approach on the forth block between us, so if there was only 3 blocks between us. Creepers still explode and do damage but I can’t hit them because they explode. Can’t interact with mobs but they still make sound. I could get items if they flowed in water but if I moved to them, whether it was stationary or flowing, they disappeared and I couldn’t pick them up. If I moved away they reappeared. Had four users on at the same time in the same console when it happened and the problem persisted when we turned the Xbox off (in the regular quick start mode) and only one player came back on. Problem resolved when I did a hard reboot on the console by holding the power button for 10 seconds. Hope that helps.

be the same issue I'm seeing. The disappearance/reappearance seems to be based on the chunk boundary. When I'm in an adjacent chunk, I can see dropped blocks, animals sitting, other players, etc. But when I enter the same chunk, entities disappear. In the case of pets and blocks, I can't pick up drops and I can't interact with pets.
This issue seems to be more pronounced the longer MCPE runs.
I'm running version 1.2.13 on an nvidia Shield TV acting as a server. I'll join the game from another device (Windows 10, Android, or iOS depending on the situation), and play for a while.
When this problem comes up, I usually have to outright reboot the shield TV acting as a server. I usually wait until the problem becomes really annoying, but it seems to happen in a day or two of run time.

I am also having this problem with one more twist then just random tiles or entities it has started deleting my servival worlds when I exit for them when this happens. I have no idea why this is happening but I want it to stop as I have lost all backups to my main world.

having the same issue on nintendo switch bedrock. mobs will disappear walking in one direction only to reappear a few seconds later, walking in the same direction just a few blocks farther

We (wife and I) just started having this issue this evening on the XBOX One.
Entities, both mobs and objects, are disappearing a few blocks away.
Hostile mobs are still doing damage and had to be killed with a bow. XP did drop and was collectable.
Non-mob entities (dirt and slabs are the 2 we were dealing with) disappeared and couldn't be interacted with.
Non-hostile mobs just disappeared and reappeared further away or when we back up.
The distance appears to be the distance of direct interaction.
We just received an update earlier this week.

I finally managed to get Minecraft to load today, and I was having this problem, too. Was underwater, digging up blocks to fill a hole, and the blocks would vanish. I'd see them floating at the surface from a distance but they were uncollectable and when I got close to them they would vanish. The fish around me would vanish when they got close and then reappear when they moved away. On the surface, I was trying to shear my sheep but they kept blinking in and out of reality. Could not shear them except by spamming the "use" button and hoping for the best. And then half the wool dropped couldn't be picked up.
While shearing, a zombie villager spotted me. Thankfully I was in the sheep pen because as it approached, it disappeared. I could hear it growling but it was not visible and swatting at it with my sword got no results. Finally managed to shoot it with my bow.
But what happens when phantoms start coming? My character hasn't slept in days and is going to be getting harassed. How can I defend myself if I can't see what's attacking me, or hit back?
I play on Xbox One

Fairly certain this exact issue is happening to me in Android VR Minecraft.

Had this just happen to me on my Xbox X. I'd destroy chests and the items in them wouldn't appear. Had to do a hard reset and reload the game in order to get the items to appear properly.

Got it working.
I had to unplug the Xbox and wait a few minutes and plug it back in.

This happened to me on Windows 10 (version 1.4.2.0) in an old flat Creative world. I was modifying an iron golem farm with a villager breeder on the side, up in the air (Y=17). I had been working around this structure for several hours without a problem. Suddenly all ~24 villagers in my pod disappeared. When I moved closer or father away, they reappeared. While they were invisible, they were also inaudible (footsteps and villager vocalizations) but they were still active in the game, which I could tell because they changed positions while invisible.
By experimenting I discovered that the phenomenon is related to chunk boundaries. There was a single chunk, adjacent to the one they were in, within which I couldn't see or hear them. Possibly as a coincidence, that chunk was adjacent to the Z axis (its northwest corner was at 0,32) and the chunk containing the villagers was on the other side of the axis (coordinates -16,32). The phenomenon seems to be expressed anywhere within the chunk: moving up or down had no effect.
I tried placing a minecart and a boat in the villagers' chunk; those also disappeared.
After saving and quitting, I used the Copy World function to make a copy, then opened the copy, The problem persisted in the copy. However, the next time I opened either the original or the copy the problem had gone away. Unfortunately, I didn't think to export the world before that happened.
This iron farm had previously had a duplicate of the villager pod on the opposite side, in the chunk with its northwest corner at -32,32. Just before the problem occurred, I had been spam-killing those villagers with a diamond sword (unenchanted), dismantling the pod, and breaking a line of 17 doors adjacent to it. I tried recreating the destroyed pod and repeating the actions, but could not get the problem to occur again.
For whatever it's worth, I have attached a copy of the world (from after the problem went away): Copy of Redstone Test Lab.mcworld.

This also happened to me in Windows 10 1.4.2. I was trying to get wool from a sheep and it suddenly disappeared for about 2 seconds then reappeared.

This happens to me a lot on my samsung phone. Its the worst when I'm fighting a hotile mob and they disappear, sometimes killing me.

I'm a victim of the hostile mob that disappears and still murders you. Had to deal with returning in an attempt to salvage some of my possessions and it would not let me pick up anything that was left...and yes, they killed me again. I was in survival mode in a world I had built up over a long period of time. Hopefully when I go back it will be normal again. PS: Tried to create another "new world" while the first was being whack-o and the new world was just as screwed up with animals flickering in and out of existence and not killable for food. Sigh

My adventure map is suffering with this bug. I can't test it if mobs at crucial points are disappearing and killing me. I'm on xbox one 1.4.2.

When this occurs I can resolve it by completely shutting down the Minecraft client (on PC). Simply exiting the game world and reloading does not resolve it.

Same issue. I was mining in a ravine once, there were a lot of dropped items in some spots they were visible, in some they were not. I was going to pick them up while they were invisible, but I could'nt because they were acting like they weren't even there. So I tried moving them with water and going to a spot where they are rendered so they can slowly come to me.

Reporting that this issue is happening on the Nintendo Switch as well. Nearby entities such as dropped items, players, monsters, animals disappear. Can be seen in the distance. Items may not be picked up despite being right on top of it, just does not "exist" near me. Actions done to block by entity still occurs, such as an animal eating grass even when invisible. Tried changing various graphical options and reloading the game to no success.

I have the same problem. Bought the game for nintendo switch a few days ago. Sadly I'm not able to play it now.
Fixed in an earlier version. Closing ticket.

This appears to have returned in the snapshot. The release today 19w08a my llamas from the wandering trader are disappearing and then reappearing. Same for all type of boat when left at the waters edge. Also blocks mined are reappearing and need to be re-mined. In the case of the llamas and boats they are not invisible, they are simply not there until they are again.
