This has also happened to me with beehives in a regular chest. I broke the chest to get the stuck beehives out and now they are stuck in my inventory and I cannot move or remove them. They are not stack able with other items either. Contact me if you would like a video demonstration.
This is happening in our realm on bedrock

This is also happening to me on my realm on bedrock. Happened last night. I destroyed the chest that my beehives were in, ran over them to pick them up and now they are stuck in my inventory and i cannot move them out or move them around in my inventory. Bee hive or bees nest. Help!!!

It is happening for me as well. I couldn't take the beehives out of the chest so I broke the chest and now have 4 beehives stuck in my player inventory. This is on realms and is a total inconvenience.

I am also having this problem on Realms in Bedrock Edition. I had a chest with bee nests that I could not pick up so I destroyed the chest. Now the bee hives are stuck in my inventory. Please help. I am playing on Xbox One.

Having the same issue with Beehive and standard chest; Bedrock edition on Windows 10 & Realm.
Beehives/Nest that are stored in chests since the last update appear to be the issue; 'Harvesting' a fresh beehive off a tree and moving to the chest is not effected.

I have this issue when i am on realms, win10

I have had it happen as well...

Also happened on my realm

@unknown, your video is viewable. If anyone here has this issue, please attach your world to this report. That may help us to reproduce this issue and push it to the developers.
How to get worlds:
On Windows 10 you can use the Export world feature.
On Android or iOS you need to use a file explorer to navigate to Device storage > games > com.mojang > minecraftWorlds
On Xbox or Switch the only way is to upload it to a Realm, and then download the world on Windows 10 or Android/iOS.

Happened on my realm just moments ago

I'm unable to place it down, drop it or swap inventory slots with the beehive

https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MCPE-62234 same thing. We did some experimentation and the bug occurs if the nest or hive goes into a shulker. I currently have a couple of chests lying around with just nests in them and cant do anything. I'm on a realm and don't own it so cant get a world copy

Same thing happening to me as well. They were stuck in a chest then I broke the chest and then got stuck in my inventory. Saw a comment about dying over hoppers to remove them from inventory. It was the only way.
If you have a copy of the world available, you might like to upload a copy of it for investigation.
(Please do not purchase a Realms subscription just to provide a world to us - but if you have a Realm already this may be a viable option if you wish to do so.)
If the world is larger than 10MB you can upload the world to OneDrive or a similar file sharing site, and then share the link.

My world is 800mb.. I mean I can when I get home in a few hours
Also there is a semi fix I found IF the beehive is in the front slots of your inventory and you can't move it...
Simply use the copy block option (middle mouse click I believe) while having the beehive selected and it will go to the back of your inventory where the block you selected to copy was at...
It will still be stuck in your inventory but it won't be at the very front slots so...
Don't go to too much trouble, the info about adding them to a Shulker Box or Ender chest first sounds like a big clue.

We noticed this is happening on our bedrock realm Jan 25, 2020. I added a comment to another report that has just been closed as a duplicate. I hope this gets resolved soon, we are in the middle of a build and need access to those nests.

Don't go to too much trouble, the info about adding them to a Shulker Box or Ender chest first sounds like a big clue.
Mine never entered shulker or ender chests... They were in regular chests when I updated and were then unable to be taken out... Its odd...
Also I took my world off the realm and downloaded it yet when I played on the local drive it would let me move the beehives freely..... Odd....

One of my realm members has a bunch of behives stuck in their ender chest, as demonstrated in the video below.
I understand you're looking for a worth download with the problem, so I've included a recent backup of the realm.
[media]
Unfortunately the world download is too large of a file to add to the post, so I've put it on my google drive. If there's a different way preferred, please let me know and I'll fix it.

I can’t move bee hives or nests to any other position in my chest or from a chest to my inventory.

Affects iPad as well. I never placed my beehives or bees nests in a shulker box or end chest, but some other player might have. My inventory is now completely full of hives and nests that I cannot drop or move.

Ps4 user on single player survival world and unsure if this is the right place but I had six beehives stuck in my INVENTORY. They were stuck in a normal double size chest and wouldn't let me quick move them or anything.
I got the bright idea to break the chest to collect the hives. THIS WAS A MISTAKE. Nothing I did would move the hives and short of suiciding I didn't see any way to fix the issue. I had just made a copy of my world because I just lost a nametagged mending villager so I deleted the world with them stuck in my inventory and used the backup from just before picking them up.
But now I have beehives stuck in a chest, being unusable and taking up space

I've also had this problem for about a week now
I've been on a friends realm for about 3 weeks and i didn't notice many glitches at first with the beehives,
but a week later i noticed that all beehives in any container cannot be moved, bee nests are acting different, they were okay till yesterday, but now 3 out of the 11 in my ender chest cannot move, my guess is its a id tag issue with pollen amounts or bee amounts in the hives beforehand because i filled all my hives with bees before i stored them but some of the nests were fresh spawns with no pollen and only 3 bees

I also just had this happen in 1.14.20 on Windows 10 seed -1793303982 survival vanilla.

I had this happen with 4 empty beehives in my inventory when upgrading versions, couldn’t move them at all... then I had an idea of collecting another empty beehive, this stacked with the 4 I already had and updated my inventory and I was then able to remove them all! Hope this helps someone, though I guess if your beehives aren’t empty you won’t ‘bee’ able to stack them :/

Also experienced this problem today. I logged onto my world yesterday that was generated in an older version, travelled far enough for newly updated chunks and got 4 bee nests. I placed them in my home base chest. Today I could not get them out of my chest so I broke the chest and had 4 bee nests stuck in my inventory. I had to fall onto a hopper so when I died the bee nests got trapped into another chest which from there still can not be moved. Please fix this soon!
P.S. I am on Minecraft for Xbox One version, non-realms world

I am also having this problem.
I've been using a local map on xbox one for the past 5-6 years; (uploaded from the xbox 360 version of the map.)
I've had a bunch of beehives in a shulker box and set at a build site for the past few weeks. I finally got around to making the farm for it, and i can't get it to leave the box. It grabs the item when I click it, only for a split second, before it returns to where it originally was sitting.
(I'm pretty sure I have a few bees inside the nests and hives.)
I don't want to go around breaking all my chests in my house to test this, but I was wondering if other people were having the same problem?
Hope this helps.
My version of Bedrock is 1.14.2 (Xbox One)

Same, i have 8 of them stucked in my hotbar... Solve asap
Xbox One 1.14.2

Same problem in Windows 10 Bedrock 1.14.20. I also had several bee hives set up, and all my bees disappeared. I wonder if they got stuck in their hives.

I’m having the same problem on PE...3 hives all containing at least one bee

same issue here running windows 10 pc they got into my inventory when i removed them from over a campfire with a pickaxe they had bees and honey in them

Same issue for Xbox One. Bee hives and bee nests were gained by using silk sheers and have bees in them. Can not place, move, drop, or select bee hives or bee nests.

Have just experienced this on my BDS, however it has been a long time since I put the Bee Nest (not hive) in the chest and haven't taken it out since, it has never been in an ender chest or shulker to my knowledge.
It has bees in it (in case thats relevant) as it was my backup nest in case i angered the ones in my world.

I'm having this same issue except my bee hive is stuck in my hand. I cannot place it anywhere nor can I remove it from my hand and put it in a chest.

Having the same problems on Minecraft java eddition Xbox one, I have a few bees nests in one of my chests and I can’t take them out, I thought about just breaking the chest but I first looked it up and here we are, read some of the posts and now I’m not breaking the chest nor am I going to be setting up a honey farm anytime soon. please fix

Same issue with beehive in inventory. Unable to place in any container or to place beehive or to toss out of inventory. Also when in my hand I am unable to mine or access chests. Bedrock edition playing on android samsung note 10

its the same for me

Got a beehive stuck in my active inventory. Please fix this bug.

I'd been collecting Bee Nests with 3 bees inside for a farm, and broke the chest containing them. They're all stuck in my inventory now; my realm account is pretty much unplayable, because of this issue.

I crafted twelve beehives, updated to the latest Minecraft version, tried to place them and they wouldn’t place. The only way to clear them from my hotbar is suicide.

If you put bee nests in your enderchest, then you 're in the future (or maybe not)

Still having this issue. Unable to get beehive out of inventory, can’t place it or drop it. It acts like a bug, if I try to hold it I can’t do anything with it. Please fix, it’s useless, the beehive itself can’t be used and it takes up a spot on inventory uselessly. Thanks

I tried to place it, and it wouldn't work either. I went as far as to killing myself to drop it. I did, but once I picked it up, I would keep having that same problem. I tried dying on top of a holler, and the only way to retrieve the hive was to break the chest the Hive ended up in. It would stay stuck in the chest.

I play Minecraft on my iPad, finally managed to get a full beehive in my realm, but now it's stuck in my inventory. I can't move it to the hot bar, put it in a chest or even drop it. Been checking everyday for almost a week, please release a fix for iOS soon. My projects are currently on hold till I can place this block. Just in case it's relevant, I have a relatively large base centered around spawn. I want to build a large beehive about 8-10 chunks from spawn.

I’ve been having the same problem but I’m my e chest

I'm playing in creative, but it is still annoying me that there is this useless hotbar slot with a beehive I can't use or remove. :[

I’ve found the only solution is to die when you die you drop the item

There was Some Bee Nests and Beehives in an old players house i was cleaning out. I could not pick them up from the chest so i used my Axe thinking i was being smart to remove them from the chest. yeah no.. now there on my person in my Inventory and i cant pick them up. im stuck with 4 inventory blocks in use from stupid buged bee nests and hives... the only way i can think is to jump in that lava you see in the background this sucks. please fix.
Windows 10 Realms V1.14.30

I'm playing Way of the Bee on Xbox 1 and I cannot place the beehive down on the hill on Poppy Isle. Please help.

Here is my world, saved on OneDrive.
Can you please have someone take a look at it?

Somebody needs to fix this.

I haven't had this problem, but just wondering--if, instead of taking an axe to your chest, you instead put a hopper under it, point that hopper into a dropper, and power the dropper to drop the nest/hive for you, will it still get stuck in your inventory if you pick it up then?

I have a world on my server I could test this on. If no one has given it a shot by the time I get a chance I should be able to have a look.
Edit: Nope, after dispensing it and picking it up its now stuck in my inventory.

ugh. I cannot believe there was an update release today and it did not fix this issue! Still have an unusable beehive in my inventory. Cannot place it, cannot put it in a chest, can’t do anything while holding it. Please. Please address this bug.

Just thought I'd try this in the new beta and for me, I can move and drop the bee hive now using the mouse. But if I put it in my hotbar and then press Q to drop, the hand movement plays but the item does not get thrown.
Can anyone else on the beta confirm this?

I had this same issue. I have a beehive stuck in my enderchest.

I have a bunch of nests that cant be removed it's very frustrating. Can this bug please be fixed. I axed my chest and not the nests are stuck in my inventory.

This seems to be rather hard to reproduce. It has once happened on 1.14.30/iOS:
I broke a naturally-generated bee nest with naturally-generated bees in it (with a silk touch axe).
I put it in a regular chest and broke the chest with an axe.
I picked it up and it got stuck in my inventory. I used /clear to get rid of it.
But this did not happen when I did the same on a creative world with a user-placed bee nest and user-spawned bees. Maybe this natural vs. user-placed is a red herring. I don't know. There might be another condition that triggers this bug.

Happens in Way of the Bee adventure map when you get back to Poppy Island and beehive is put into your inventory by the story progression. Adventure mode and creative. Had this happen several tries.

This is happening to me on Xbox One in creative, no realms. Also beehives were never in a chest, just plucked from creative inventory for a test project. They are stacking but I cannot move or discard them.

Minecraft MCPE Windows 10 PC v. 1.15.0.53 and PS4 v.1.14.30
Here's a workaround that has worked for me when a beehive gets stuck on the Hot Bar: place a newly crafted beehive on the ground; break it with a silk touch pick ax; pickup the broken beehive; move or place the beehives.

Windows 10 and Xbox One. 1.14.30.
The work around mention does not work as stated. I couldn't take some bee nests and a beehive out of a chest. But when i broke the chest they went into my inventory. Then I was unable to move them from their slots, place them on the ground nothing.
I saved the Beehive, by crafting a new one. It added to the existing one making a stack of two, which enabled me to then use the Beehives once more. I tried duplicating this with the Bee Nests, by collecting another. I could use this nest and place it back on the tree, but my original nests still could not be used/moved (maybe a difference in how they are stacked?). Alas the only way I could remove them from my inventory, was to die... so I stored all my other items and armour, jumped in the water and drowned.... the nests are now floating in the sea, until they de-spawn.

I just had this happen to me on my Minecraft Survival world I've been playing. It is the version on Nintendo Switch (Bedrock). I tried to remove a bees nest I had obtained with a Silk Touch tool, from a regular chest, but it wouldn't move. I then broke the chest and picked up its contents, but now I can't take the nest out of my inventory.

Have this issue too but I thought I’d share, I was killed during a raid and THAT finally took the damn hive out of my inventory. I will never pick up another beehive until they solve this issue. What a pain.

I play on PS4, having the same issue. I had 3 beehives in a basic chest would not let me move then to inv. I broke the chest and the hives fell on the floor. I was able to pick them up but they are now stuck in my inv. Can't drop or place them in a chest now. I'm playing on survival not sure if the problem is in creative as well but would guess so.

Also have the problem with a beehive. One I created in survival mode a while ago and never placed...
1.14.3002.0 Bedrock on a Windows 10 laptop.

Mine is stuck in my ender chest for good. It's so frustrating I can't take it out at all 😞 hope they fix this soon

Tested in a creative world. Was able to place 3 new beehives without incident, leading me to think it's affecting older hives.

Is the problem hives with bees vs hives without?

I'm not sure if this might be a helpful solution or not.
I know I tried out that duplication glitch in the past where you time a redstone device into a chest to push it with a Piston, and you pull the item out at the exact same time that it pushes.
I tried doing that with the bees and bees nests, and they stacked.
I found out later that each hive and bee has its own code and cannot be stacked.
So if they are stacked, it's probably a prevention for duplicating bees?
But I'm planning on using flint & steel to burn all the duplicated stuff.
I did try to make new beehives with legit resources, and i was able to stack them, and not have to worry about the items being stuck in my inventory/chests/etc.

Mojang is going to have to fix this issue because my beehive is stuck in my Ender Chest. There’s nothing that I can do to get the beehive out. I hope an update fixes this soon.

confirmed on 1.14.30 Windows 10. Bee nest stuck on inventory, can't be placed or thrown

same on playstation 4 can't be placed or thrown

I've had this glitch.
Me having the glitch :
[media]
I have the same issue using 1.14.30 hotfix on the Switch.
I didn't really do anything much except carry them home, leave the game for a while, see the update, enter again, and find half my inventory full of stuck nests.
Seeing how the bee nests found in a new world I created with 1.14.30 work just fine, I think it got messed up in the update process.

I know a manual fix for this bug. Use an NBT editor to set the "facing_direction" tag of the beehive to 3.

I also have this issue and didn’t realize it until today when I went to move my two bee nests. I noticed they were stuck in their chest slots a few days ago, but planning on moving my base, I figured when I broke the chest everything would be fine. Now, the problem is even worse, because when I was shifting contents, I was operating with an empty hotbar and inventory, so upon breaking the chest with the bee nests, the two of them ended up on my hotbar, and are now stuck there! They cannot be placed, moved or thrown. I am pretty much dead in the water with this. I need those two hotbar slots to actually play.
Background for my issue: I collected the bee nests with silk touch axe within the past two months, and they were certainly movable before, so one of the updates over that time has caused this. I have never placed them in an ender chest or shulker box. They went from being mined to my inventory to a double chest. They were moved around within the double chest before the update that locked them. One other note that I don’t see in the comments is that when I am holding one, I can open doors but the door sound doesn’t play. I cannot open chests while holding them. When I try to place them, they briefly appear in the position I place them, then pop right back to my hotbar.
I am playing on iOS.
Please help me fix this. It is a survival world that has never had cheats enabled, and I really hope there is a fix that won’t require me to break the world by enabling cheats.

Updating my above comment:
I simply used up my XP and then drowned myself to get them out of my hotbars. So the issue is able to be worked around as long as the nests aren’t in an ender chest or shulker box. I guess I’ll just collect new bee nests when the issue is fixed.

I have the same issue. It sucks, because I REALLY want to use them.

Thus bug is taking up 9 shots in my inventory at the moment. Local world, bedrock, xbox one. It's made the game unplayable until it's fixed.

You can remove them from inventory by suicide. That’s what I did to get them off my hotbar. Just use up your xp enchanting or whatever, empty your inventory of everything (don’t forget your armor!), and take yourself out in the fashion you prefer. I chose drowning, but you can choose something more exotic, like jumping from the height limit, or encasing yourself in an obsidian box and lighting TNT.

I pointed a hopper into a shulker box, built a vertical tunnel around it to catch my stuff, then fell and died on top of the hopper that way I could save the bee hives until they get this fixed.

This is also happening to me in me regular chest. The beehive has 3 bees inside it and I got it about a month ago and it won't come out into my inventory. And I don't want to break my chest.

i’ve gone as far as killing myself in the game and I still have 2 bee houses and 3 beehives stuck in my inventory

I can't get beehives out of my inventory

I have the same problem with bee nests stuck in my inventory. They were stuck in my regular chest. I broke the chest to retrieve the bee nests and now they are stuck in my inventory.

I think a temporary solution is to store beehives by placing them instead of putting them in your inventory.

Can't place them when they are stuck in inventory

There are only two options since Mojang isnt doing anything about this for those of us afflicted with this problem. If they are stuck in your inventory, you can die and let them despawn. Or if you are the owner of the realm, you can reset your realm with a backup of the realm before they got trapped in your inventory of boxes. I did the latter, but I had to die once to clear a bell that was stuck in my hot bar, another issue that was never resolved. Good luck to you guys, but I'm going to stop following this thread as no progress is going to be made on it.

me to I stuck with all my bee hives. I cannot drop or place not even move them. also try die to pick them back up did not work. but not try to give them to another player by death? but happen to me to please fix

This happened to me a while back. I got two beehives stuck in my inventory and the only solution was to kill myself through fall damage. The hoppers, I placed to pick up the beehives on the ground, were unable to pick them up, so I just let them despawn. (I play on Android, on the latest Bedrock Edition 1.14.30.)

I have 2 loaded nest in my Enderchest that cant be removed. Suicide isn't an option to solve in my case. Collected these a few weeks ago. I was highly disappointed when I finally was ready to build a farm but could not use them. Can we address this please. I mean this respectfully but isn't 1.14.30 part of the "Buzzy Bee" update? This is really frustrating.

I saw a comment from @unknown on 31/Jan/20 at 11:31 AM, where he said...
"I had this happen with 4 empty beehives in my inventory when upgrading versions, couldn’t move them at all... then I had an idea of collecting another empty beehive, this stacked with the 4 I already had and updated my inventory and I was then able to remove them all!"
I created a beehive in January, but couldn't find any bees, so didn't do much with it. Found it was stuck in the chest in March and then got it stuck in my inventory...
Got a pickaxe with Silk Touch and got 2 nearby bee nests.
Set up a house for the hives and got plenty of honeycomb. Created some hives which wouldn't stack with the existing hive, but were moveable. Started placing the new hives and the old one became usable!
This bug appears to be affecting things created between certain dates.

I have had this issue on my realm for ages and can verify that making another beehive from a crafting table stacked ontop of the existing one which was stuck and allowed me to use them.
Bugrock is very weird indeed

I am also having this bee nest issue on Windows 10 in both creative and survival mode. I broke a chest with a filled bee nest in it, and it went into my inventory. When I attempted to drag it out with my mouse it wouldn't move. I cannot click a different block over top of it to replace it either.

This happened once to me on creative on Pocket Edition, but the bee nests only got stuck in my inventory after I left and re-entered the world. So in Survival, I only craft bee hives or mine bee nests if I am going to place them immediately.

Update... The 2 nest are still stuck in my Ender chest. However, I just made a copy of my world and used it to find another nest in a flower biome. I used hoppers and silk touched it into a shulker box. I was able to remove that nest from the shulker box with success. I've also breaded bees and got honeycombs to create more nest. I figured since I now have nest in place, I would try to use the nest I found and attempt to stack it in the Ender chest. It would not stack. I also was able to remove it but not the stuck nest. Never mentioned before but I use Windows 10 Bedrock version with the latest update installed.

Please fix this bug!

Went on a walkabout to gather Hives, needed to venture far to generate new biomes/chunks. Had collected 8 Hives before setting the game aside for about a month and have had this issue also.
Of possible interest, I’m able to move one of the hives in, around and from inventory to storage chests like usual. 7 will not move, glitching back to the spot they are stuck in. I believe I gathered 7 from a large Flower Forest biome and 1 from the edge of a Grassland biome during my wanderings. Is it possible the 7 from the Flower area are the ones that are stuck? Not likely since so many others have problems, by why does one move as normal?
Looking forward to this being resolved. Seems similar, for example, to two piles of Puffer fish that will not combine that I have.
Game version v1.14.60, been getting each update as they come out.
This bug is fixed in the latest beta version, and the fix will be included in a future update when that is ready for full release (no specific date can be given). We will leave this ticket open as a point of reference until the fix has been fully released.

Thanks for the update Jay!

In my creative world I can't take the bees nests out of my inventory, I cant move them around in my inventory and I cannot place them. I re-loaded a few times. Would that still be fixed in the newest beta?
Resolving issues that were marked as fixed in the 1.15 and 1.16 Betas, now that 1.16.0 is being released.
Reopened, because the hives/nests can now be moved, but not placed.

In 1.16 I can move my nest between inventory spots, but I cannot place or drop the nest, and I cannot open certain block GUIs while holding the nest. I can open hoppers and furnaces, but not chests or crafting tables.

Perhaps obvious, but I got tired of having the previously unmoveable for months and now unplaceable and non-discardable Hives in inventory or storage, so I switched to creative, moved them to the hot bar and copied over them...then discarded whatever I copied over them with after switching back to survival.
A solution for anyone just wanting rid of them.
Is this happening in a Realm or a local world?
