How to Join (and leave) the Minecraft Beta.
Some people have had success with the procedure described in this comment, contributed by Community Manager @unknown.
Please bear in mind that when trying to opt out of the beta on Windows 10, all users will need to opt out of the beta in order for the correct version to be downloaded from the store.
Issues related to the Xbox Insider Hub need to be taken up with Xbox directly.

This issue is usually caused by exiting from the Insider Hub too soon when leaving the beta. The button first changes to Pending, then to Join after unenrollment is complete. If you leave the Hub app before it says Join, your unenrollment may not be complete.
To solve this, you need to join the beta again, then leave it again, waiting for confirmation at each step. Once that is done, uninstalling and reinstalling the game should install the stable release version. (You should wait a few minutes before reinstalling, just to be sure your status change propagates through Xbox Live completely.)
Please let us know whether this solves your problem. This ticket will reopen automatically when you reply.

I tried to delete Minecraft and reinstall after AND before leaving, I didn't close the HUB Insider app when I unenroll and still get same issue
Auldrick, I followed tut on internet that say to wait 15 min before uninstall it after unenroll, it didnt change anything, I even wait that it change from Pending to Join before uninstall and reinstall it. Few weeks ago I already downgrade my version to go on realms and get back to the beta after, I didn't have any problem it changed my version instantly, but now my cousin got same problem too we both tried for more than 2hours yesterday with all solutions possible, if I ask here its really because we can't understand what is wrong now

EDIT:
I tried to follow all your steps but still have same issue, can't get back to the stable release version, and I waited 15 min beetween each steps ( unenroll, uninstall then re install) it seems like this beta doesn't want to be deleted lol

Are there other Microsoft accounts on this computer? If so, another user might be enrolled in the beta, causing this problem. All players would need to unenroll before the store will offer you the stable release version.
Also, if you have multiple Microsoft accounts yourself, make sure that you're signed in with the same one you used to join the beta.
Let us know how it goes, please.

So,
I got only 1 Microsoft account in my Windows store, I got 2 users account on my computer but both use the same email as my microsoft account (my first user account is locked due to a w10 update bug I can't get acces to it)

I don't think it matters which account you use to sign into the Store, only which account you were using when you joined the beta. And it doesn't matter that your two Microsoft accounts have the same email: They're independent, just as if the email addresses were different.
If you joined the beta using the account that is now locked, I'm pretty sure that would cause this problem. You have to unenroll from the beta on that account before the Store will offer you the stable release. We aren't able to help you with that on the bug tracker. I would suggest contacting Windows Support to help you regain access to the locked account.
If you joined the beta on your current account, or if Windows Support can't help you regain access to the locked account, I'd suggest contacting Xbox Support (which supports the Insider Hub app) to see if they can help you get your beta enrollment reset.
I'm resolving this ticket as Can't Reproduce, because this issue is not due to a bug in Minecraft.

I enroll the beta with my new account (not the locked one), I didnt go on the other since 2-3 month so it can't be that.
Thats why I can't understand why the beta doesn't want to reset properly.
Its not due to my account its a Minecraft/Windows Store problem and you have to help me I tried all solutions possible

EDIT: Microsoft support told me that Mojang support (YOU) can reset acces to the beta

This is the bug tracker, not Mojang Support. I'm trying to find out who you should contact and will get back to you. In the meantime, you might want to try Community Support or the Minecraft Discord if you don't want to wait.

So you find something for me ?

Those mojang/microsoft guys forgot to say that the Insider Hub has a major bug... i spoke with a discord moderator that told me something interesting. The Insider Hub has a bug that won't let you leave the beta (from any game) only if youdelete your user from the pc... when you deleted the user, you can leave the beta. BUT who is so close minded to delete his own user on his own pc just to 'fix' this bug that should've been fixed MONTHS ago. Great job Microsoft, you always make me think to switch to other OS! applause. I'll try to speak with that moderator in case the bug will be fixed (or maybe it got fixed right now, idk). Also, I'm sure (and so is the moderator) that the Insider Hub is the problem, because unenroling works fine on Android devices, where you DON'T have to install the Insider Hub app. WoW

I have the same problem 😞

I have tried everything and so far I have not been able to get out of the beta version of my PC, it's a shame, after all I wanted to play with my friends in Realms and I will not be able to get it because of this bug.

Leave the Beta from the insider hub or google play. Then uninstall and reinsall Minecraft.

I'm having the same issue at the moment. I believe this is caused by the Microsoft Store's "Ready to Install" feature. You can find the apps associated if you navigate to the ... Menu -> My Library -> Ready to Install. You will see a list of apps that are cached on your PC, hence the name "Ready to Install" and attempting to remove the cached data will cause errors with the store (you will be unable to install the app unless you restore the cached data). Due to this behaviour, the store is unable to install a clean version of Minecraft Windows 10 Edition because your system does not get rid of the beta files, all what the store does is install the app without the program data. There is clearly no coordination with the Store App and the Insider Hub App if this is actually the case.

@unknown: Have you checked My Library > Downloads and updates? If there was a problem downloading or installing the non-Beta release, you should see an error there. A persistent error could create the state you're talking about.
If you haven't, you might want to try the Windows Store Troubleshooter (Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Windows Store Apps). It has the ability to rebuild the Store cache to ensure your PC is in sync with the Store server.

I tried uninstalling Minecraft and clearing the cache of the store, however the store did not seem to fix itself nor sync with the store server. I am now unable to install Minecraft at all. Attempting to install Minecraft will throw an error in the store. I’ve tried searching the error code online and it all leads to Groove Music related stuff. I don’t think this is an issue with the store server at all. The “Ready to Install” feature should be removed at once or revamped to actually support beta apps that are part or the Ready to Install library. The store assumes that the program data is still on the pc when in fact it is not.
Edit:
I even deleted cache from the registry that is tied up with 3rd party store apps and still had no luck (this was before I couldn’t install Minecraft) I think the ONLY solution is to get a clean install of Windows since the cached program data is so sensitive, it can’t be touched by anyone. If anyone wants to have a look at what I’m talking about, you can find all store apps’s program data in Program Files -> Windows Apps. The folder is heavily guarded with security permissions and requires admin privileges, don’t modify ANYTHING unless you know what you’re doing.

Solution!
After further investigation, the only solution to this issue in my case (without extreme measures) was to wait for an update higher than the beta version. When the store will detect that a newer version must be installed, it will disregard the cache files and install the proper program data for the corresponsing version. The store does not seem to recognise downgrading to a previous public version when unenrolling from the Insider Program. However, since the store does not seem to understand this behaviour, the store will bug out and show that it is still installing minecraft, even if minecraft has been installed (As seen in the image below)
My minecraft is now working as expected and hopefully, I won't be getting any more insider builds 🙂
Hope someone found this useful.

Same issue even used the powershell to remove app data with same results will not downgrade

Same here, jira only 1.13.0.9 and 1.12.0 but the play store stucking 1.13.0.6 . Clearing cache is isn't working.

Is anyone still having this issue?

Ive just had this same issue and spent over 3 hours trying to fix it with all the current "solutions" for this problem with no result. I need help, please

What device are you using? Did you follow the steps given in https://feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/articles/360004438671-How-to-Join-and-leave-the-Minecraft-Beta? Other "solutions" you find on the internet are not supported and may not work. After you uninstalled and reinstalled Minecraft, did Minecraft still show that it is in the beta version?
Also, if you did open any world in the beta, you will not be able to open it in the previous release version, so you will need to use a backup saved in the release version (or wait until the official release to reopen that world).

Hi, my issue is in PC with the windows 10 edition, and ill try to explain it as clear as I can: First i joined the beta in Xbox Insider and it worked, the beta was installed and I could try it in-game. The issue comes when Xbox Insider still shows me to join the beta even though im already in, and when i press the "join" button it shows "(pending)" for a while and then "join" again. Its something like Xbox Insider doesnt detect that the game is already in the beta version, and therefore i cant uninstall the beta from Insider because i didnt even joined the beta, and that may be the cause of all this thing.
I already tried the steps in minecraft feedback with no result and yes, after i uninstalled and reinstalled Minecraft it was still in the beta version.
Sorry if the explanation is a bit messy, and thanks for your time.

There are a number of behind-the-scenes settings that have to be updated when you join or leave the Beta program: The Xbox Insider Hub has to know whether it should show the Join or the Leave button, Xbox Live needs to know whether you can earn achievements while you're playing and what version to show you're playing to your friends, the Windows Store needs to know which version's page to show you when you look up the game and whether it's owned, downloaded, or installed, and so on. The (Pending) status is when all these different apps are shooting messages at each other telling each other to update these settings. They also tell each other if the update doesn't succeed, so everybody else can back out their settings changes and leave you in a consistent state.
It sounds to me like in your case, something went wrong but the failure backout process didn't work properly. If so, this would definitely be a bug (though not one in the game itself, since this is all happening in those other components like the Insider Hub etc.). Very recently we have had another report (MCPE-65913) of this in the 1.16 Beta. The feedback document referred to above has been quite successful in solving these problems in the past, but if it doesn't work for 1.16 Beta, that also suggests a new bug might be the cause. It might possibly have something to do with the Beta background components trying to restore you to 1.15, which of course doesn't exist, instead of 1.14.0.30. And then the failure recovery got confused and left you in a state where the components are all out of sync, and what you see in the Insider Hub isn't reliable any more.
We are looking into this theory. I would suggest that in the mean time, you upvote and watch MCPE-65913 for updates, as it's likely this new bug will be tracked there.

Got it. Thank you so much!

I am currently experiencing this issue with the RTX Beta update. When going to the insider page it shows I am not registered for the beta. However, when downloading the application, it still installs the beta version.

Hi everyone, I recently got this issue as well and I have come to the conclusion that the only way to fix it is to reset windows. This is because in order for the Microsoft store to install the older version of Minecraft again, the cache must be wiped, as far as I can see resetting windows is the only way to do this fully. Once the cache has been wiped the store is forced to pull the correct version from the servers and it should then be back to normal.
Microsoft really needs to get on top of this as its such a dumb bug to have for such a big company.

Fixed the issue myself by leaving trial then logging in to all accounts on the machine and removing minecraft, then restarted and it installed the normal version fine. Had to remove it from accounts that had not even been logged in recently.

having this same issue. Trying to enroll from beta and having "join" button, but after reinstallation of maincraft, the version of it is still 1.16

Tried again today and Windows Store is still pushing out the Beta version of the game. I have no option to downgrade or force non-beta version to install.

It says I am not authorized to view that webpage when I click it. Link does not work.

Thank you for reporting that. The page has been moved a few times. I have corrected the link to point to its current location.

I have followed the steps on https://help.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/articles/360040841471-How-to-Join-and-leave-a-Minecraft-Beta. I am still stuck in the beta.

I am stuck in the beta as well. I am on a windows pc and have carefully followed the how to join document at least 5 times now including the command prompt power shell method. The weird thing is that on my other user account its on the public release minecraft not the beta but on my main account it keeps installing the beta. And before you ask
yes i waited to close the xbox insider until it said join after it was done processing
I have waited hours after it said join to redownload minecraft
I have deleted it from all window accounts and unenrolled on both accounts
I have tried the admin command prompt power shell method on both user accounts
I have restarted my pc after unenrolling
So basically someone please help me escape from the beta

I opt out in the Insider Hub app, then I have to UNINSTALL Minecraft and REINSTALL it, and then it's back to normal

I have no joke probably done that around 10 times and it goes back to the beta everytime

I think i might have found the problem. I found that there is still a Microsoft.MinecraftUWP file that says 1.16.58 on it even though i uninstalled it, so im going to try to get permissions to delete it and see if that works.

Yeah, and the weirdest thing is, that it puts me in the nether beta with the background of the RTX beta, when I only installed for the RTX beta, Ive enrolled then un enrolled them all, *Get-AppxPackage -allusers minecraftUWP | remove-appxpackage -allusers* is a command supposed to be used, but it doesnt work for me
For those wondering, windows search command prompt, open as administrator, then type powershell, and this command
*Get-AppxPackage -allusers minecraftUWP | remove-appxpackage -allusers*
works for some but not me

@Zach Khan i have this same problem, sometimes i have installed 1.16 (nether update) with backround of rtx, and oposite rtx with background of 1.16. When i resign from beta and i have 1.16, its going back to 1.15 rtx, not 1.14.
Was sitting yesterday whole day with this problem, still no fix

i will write step by step what i did
-trying to enroll minecraft when different beta was installed (1.16 or 1.15) after that reinstalling minecraft. Was trying different patterns like install 1.15 after that 1.16 and enroll etc. - not working. Tried really a lot of patterns, even reinstall in different moment. Waiting sometimes few hours etc after enroll to reinstall minecraft. I think during whole day i made every possible enroll from beta pattern, reinstal the game after enroll like 10-20 times.
-reinstalling xbox hub insider, deleting account, deleting xbox companion - not working
-deleting accounts from microsoft store - not working
-reloging on microsoft account - not working
-*Get-AppxPackage -allusers minecraftUWP | remove-appxpackage -allusers* - not working
-checking other hardware if there was log in on microsoft store account, checking if minecrat is installed - not working
-ccleaner with reg files clean - not working
-checking update of microsoft store, troubleshoot it, update windows 10, repair and troubleshoot minecraft, windows store and xbox hub - not working
propably i did few things more i dont remember, nothing is works right now, wierd thing sometimes after enroll 1.16 (and showing join button) its reroll to 1.15, but not 1.14. Sometimes background of menu in the game is different than version. (RTX version with 1.16 background)

finally escaped. I unrolled from the beta and then searched up minecraft in my files and i deleted the UWP file that was 1.16. You need to get permissions to delete it so i followed this video to do it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pWktY_EcQp0 After you do that you'll get an error code when you try to install minecraft so then you follow the steps in this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVXBzvP_69c&t=298s Once your done with that you reinstall minecraft and it will hopefully be out of the beta.
ALSO make sure you unrolled on every user account and completely leaving the xbox insider program might help as well

After some troubleshooting with a user in tech support, we noticed that the folder the game files are stored in in the "WindowsApps" folder does not have a version number. On my end, for example, the folder name is "Microsoft.MinecraftUWP_1.14.6005.0_x64_8wekyb3d8bbwe", while for the person stuck in the Beta, it was just "Microsoft.MinecraftUWP_8wekyb3d8bbwe".
This may be the cause of this issue, in what exact way I cannot tell.

Something else weird that i was wondering why that file was even left on my device if the game was uninstalled? Is it supposed to stay there or could that be the issue?

I don't have this behavior at all. When I uninstall Minecraft the uninstall cleans out any Microsoft.MinecraftUWP_* file from WindowsApps. I'm already unenrolled through Xbox Insider Hub. Upon reinstalling, 1.15 shows up again like some sort of dirty wizard magic.
I tried Larry's suggestion to just delete the 1.15 by brute force but could only do that while the game was installed. The Windows Store wouldn't give me the option to reinstall until I used the uninstall process. Not really sure what I expected but I'll try anything short of wiping my harddrive at this point.

First I was stuck in the standard BETA on my Alt account PC.
Tried all of the things listed, in the end I had to reinstall windows and use a completely new user account and buy the game again to get out.
Now I'm stuck in the RTX Beta on my main PC.
I've used powershell to uninstall and remove the game and all references to it.
I've unenrolled from the beta - SEVERAL TIMES!
I've closed my insider account
I've deleted my C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution folder
I've checked for any Minecraft references in my WindowsApps folder
I've deleted all my devices from my Microsoft Account
I've signed in as a different user
I've logged in to the store as a different user
Yet each time I download it from the store on this system, it gives me 1.15.0.8 RTX version.
A fix for this would be greatly appreciated!

the only alternative i know that possibly help us is that the poepole who have de 1.14.60 version make an appx archive like here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a5cR3W7vvK8
and then share the file with us so we can install de 1.14.60 version with that

You can also try this. This was passed along to us:
I’m trying to leave the beta on my Windows 10 PC, but the beta still installs even after following the steps to leave?
Very rarely this can occur on Windows 10 PCs when multiple accounts have signed in and played the game. In these circumstances, try the following steps:
From the Search bar on your Windows 10 PC, type “Command Prompt“
From the search results, right click on “Command Prompt (Desktop app)“
From the context menu, select Run as Administrator.
Select “Yes” if you are prompted with “Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?”
In the Administrator: Command Prompt window, type powershell and press Enter.
In the Administrator: Command Prompt window, type
Get-AppxPackage -allusers "*minecraftUWP*" | remove-appxpackage -allusers
and press Enter

Hi, I have the same problem but the Command don´t work to me and said me that the Get-AppxPackage don't exist.

@unknown: I replaced your edits to the description because you more or less promised that it was "the" fix that would work for everybody. I'm glad it worked for you, but we can't assume that a community-provided solution (which we think of as a workaround) will fix a problem for everybody. Sometimes issues have multiple causes, especially on different platforms. Unfortunately, this is one of those, and Helen's solution isn't available to everybody. It will help some, though, so I added a prominent link to her comment.

The beta version continues to appear on my principal PC but not on the other.

@unknown: A few people have had this message because they tried to enter it into the Command Prompt's command line instead of the Powershell command line. When you start Powershell, it gives you its own command line with a prompt that starts with "PS". This is where you must enter the Get-AppxPackage command,

i already did that so many times in so many ways and doesnt work for me

@unknown: Publishing Mojang's intellectual property violates your terms of service and may additionally violate copyright law. Consequently, your link to the file has been removed.

Where I had to put the appx of 1.14.60 that you hive me? Sorry with my english, I speak spanish.

just have to run it

Search for the 1.14.60 version on google and download that file. I have it but I am not allowed to post the link. Just open it and install. If you already have the file downloaded just double click the appx and let it run. An install page with 1.14.60 Minecraft on windows store should pop up.

So, Is there no way that people with the problem can send Microsoft or Mojang their microsoft username and either one of them can send a download link or files that download the previous version? I don't understand why this is a problem and can't be fixed user by user that has issues. Maybe refund me my money and I'll buy the game when it is fixed or updated to the 1.15. It is absolutely unacceptable that any company just say this is a know issue and well we know you paid for our game but you can't play until we fix it.......... Why do I feel like the makers of Minecraft just don't care???

I download the appx that one of you give me and I solved (sorry with my english, i speak spanish)

@Ignacio Rossi what app ?

The link to the file violated copyright and had to be removed. See @sir's comment above for an alternativway you might obtain it.

@[MCPE Mod] Auldrick Thanks, I'll try that but was hoping for a legit way to fix this problem that keeps coming back.

@unknown: This is absolutely the worst place to ask Mojang for an explanation. The bug tracker staff is almost entirely composed of volunteers from the community. We aren't Mojang employees and we neither have access to the information you want (including the status of a pending bug fix), nor are we authorized to reply to your complaint on behalf of Mojang. Replying to questions and complaints is the job of the Community Management team. @HelenAngel on Twitter is a good person to contact initially. It may be that the email-based system mishandled your submission. I've never used it and don't know how it's supposed to work, but Helen can explain that as well.
The bug tracker's function is to collect and manage reports of bugs and forward valid reports to the developers. The comments here are intended for people to use to add additional information that might help the developers find and fix the bug. This is not a forum for discussing a bug, nor (despite it being called the bug tracker) is it the place to get information about the status of a fix, since we don't get that information. Your earlier comment was hidden because it provided no information about the bug that the developers might find helpful. Ditto for your comment yesterday, and also for this comment, both of which I intend to hide after you've had a chance to read this.

Ive got the same issue as well its really annoying

https://www.reddit.com/r/Minecraft/comments/9v3rvr/minecraft_windows_10_is_stuck_on_beta/
this solution worked for me !

I was stuck in the beta for 2 to 3 weeks and I recently found a way of getting the regular game. Maybe it might help but, I don't know. A lot of people seem to be stuck in the beta for alternate reasons.
https://www.reddit.com/r/xboxinsiders/comments/8l12h9/cant_opt_out_of_minecraft_beta/dzc7f6r/
The caseymccb guy was the post that helped me get back to the actual game. If you want more details on what I did in particular related to that guy's post. Please let me know.

It was different for me because the issue wasn't related to Minecraft itself. It was more of a Microsoft Account/Xbox Insiders issue

hello

And i am here too.. joining and leaving beta takes AGES, and once it's done (if it's done) it is simply stuck on beta. Tried powershell commands, everything.
I tried to rejoin the beta and leave it again > still stuck
I tried to follow this > still stuck (https://www.reddit.com/r/xboxinsiders/comments/8l12h9/cant_opt_out_of_minecraft_beta/)
I tried to totally delete my xbox insider account > still stuck
I tried to recreate insider account > still stuck
I tried to install it on another machine > still stuck

Update: my Beta subscription finally went through after about 3 weeks (👎) and I was able to leave the Beta version and get back onto the 1.14 production version.

am too unable to leave the beta.... spent past hour, go through ALL the how tos, and still not working...!

Today is exactly a month that my accounts are stuck in the beta. This proves how stupid is the microsoft UWP and how TERRIBLE is Minecraft Windows 10 Edition. This is unacceptable. I can't play the game online anymore.

@unknown and @unknown: I'm sorry you're still experiencing this problem, but the bug tracker can't do anything to escalate a fix. All we do is forward bug reports to the developers. We have nothing to do with scheduling work on a fix, nor do we have any information about its status. We're not even Mojang employees. Please direct your questions and complaints to Community Management.

Have left Beta in Windows 10 using the 3 variants ...1) Uninstall 2) Rejoin and uninstall and 3) Powershell commands (admin) - have also left the Beta on Android (as its on the same router/Network as my Win 10) and checked Xbox One which is on the release version and still can't get the release version 1.16 in Windows 10.
Hoping it may resolve over next 24 hours as demand for the download eases with the amount of successful installations....

Hang on - "All users need to leave the Beta" - what the absolute **** $£~@:
[media]!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What the hell do we have user accounts on Windows for then which has been available since the last century (sounds epic huh lol) and beyond. The fact that Windows reserves disk space so that individual users can have a personalized "space" on a single PC (e.g. a family PC, company workstation, etc) makes a damn mockery of the update system implemented by the devs. However, I also know that the system MS uses by way of unifying Xbox/Windows 10 sucks too so maybe its not all down to the devs.
EDIT: This may help - my daughter joined us playing the Beta and she is part of my family (obviously) in the Windows family section. Thing is she joined the game on her laptop NOT my PC and her laptop is on a different router a mile down the road.
Could the fact she is listed as family on my PC (even though she has no available log in) and the fact she joined the BETA program on a separate PC is locking my PC to the Beta because of the Windows family connection? If this is the case it would be a simple codefix...
NOTE: Reason I mention this is in the past I have never had a problem leaving the Beta its only now this has happened.

Auldrick, i tried contacting them via email but obviously they said they couldn't do anything about it.
Darren, I have two bedrock windows 10 accounts, on two separate Microsoft accounts. The fact that my first one joined the beta stuck the second one too in beta

@unknown: User accounts give you the ability to have different worlds. They have never given you the ability to have different versions of a program installed. Windows has always had a problem with doing that. There are lots of techniques to get around that, but most of them open holes that hackers can exploit so Microsoft makes it hard for <power users to use them. And UWP won't let you use them at all, because UWP is meant to be ultra secure without forcing a fully closed development environment.
I couldn't say whether your daughter connecting by a different route would have any consequences, though I wouldn't think so. But Xbox Customer Support should be able to answer that question.
@unknown: I don't know who you contacted, but if it was by email it wasn't Community Management.
Both Darren and Leonardo: Please try Xbox Customer Support (link in the description up top) one more time. If you don't make progress there, contact Community Manager Helen Angel on the Minecraft Discord or via her Twitter account @HelenAngel. Helen knows how this stuff is supposed to work and who to contact when it doesn't, and she's very persistent when it comes to helping customers. I wish I could help you more, but this bug isn't in Minecraft, it's in the interactions between your app store, Xbox Live, and your Microsoft Account.

@ Auldrick @ Leonardo:
Firstly, thanks for your input and replies:
@ Auldrick: Sorry I blew a fuse, the fact that my son couldn't update also kinda triggered me. As regards User Accounts I was referring to Windows 10 and software outside of Minecraft but thanks for explaining how Minecraft integrates into the Windows 10 way of doing things. I didn't know that.
@ Leonardo: I also have 2 MS accounts on my machine (I wish I didn't but the reason was because years ago MS used to have Family Accounts and I wanted to separate horror adult content from my kids, etc. However, they are now adults and playing the adult content I was originally protecting them from (Resident Evil, etc) smiles - plus I have my sons account on there to when we were setting up his laptop...
@ Auldrick and Leonardo: My son managed to solve both his problem and my problem simultaneously.
Summary: All members of my family un-enrolled from the beta program on their Xbox's/Windows 10 laptops/PC's, etc. My son also removed his account from the Insider Program on his laptop. He removed all other family accounts from his laptop and I removed his account from my PC. Once we did this and uninstalled Minecraft - (we didn't use powershell commands this time) and re-installed from the Marketplace both my sons's laptop and my PC installed the release version 1.16.0. Hope this helps others.
@ Leonardo and Auldrick - Once again many thanks!

@unknown: That's almost certainly because some other account on your PC (I'm assuming you use a PC) joined the Beta program. A Beta version is still the Minecraft app, and Windows 10 can only have one version of a given app installed, so if anybody installs the Beta version (by joining the Beta program), all other users will use it too, even though they aren't in the Beta program. You need to have the person who joined (or people, if others also joined) leave the Beta, then uninstall and reinstall Minecraft in order to get the release version again. For more information, see the Info page for the Minecraft for Windows 10 Beta program, in the Xbox Insider Hub app.

It sounds plausible to me that logging into your friend's account could have caused the problem, if he was on the Beta at the time.
Unfortunately, we staff on the bug tracker don't know how the Beta participation works in terms of the interactions between your PC, your MS Store account, and Xbox Live. (We aren't Mojang or Microsoft employees, just community volunteers.) So I can't give you any solution, and I'm afraid to even try because I could make it worse. I would recommend problem-solving starting with Xbox Support. Be sure to mention that you used your friend's account that one time and think it might be related. But Xbox Support sometimes have a tendency to send you back to us as soon as they hear "stuck on the Beta" so don't let them brush you off that easily.

Unfortunately, I can't exit the rtx beta. I don't know why.
I tried everything but could not truly exit the rtx beta even though the insider shows im not enrolled in the beta.
I seriously don't know what to do.

My computer only has 1 user but I am still unable to get the normal 1.15 version whenever I download it agian. I have deleted all data from my computer and reinstalling, before it used to be fine switching back and forth (by doing in the xbox insider hub and then installing again) but now it's never working. Help?

It's possible that when you left the beta, the store didn't receive its notification because of a network or server problem. In that case you might be able to fix it by rejoining and re-leaving the beta. Please try that and let us know if it works.

After months of doing nothing, it finally fixed by itself. So I re-joined the beta to test it again, the RTX version crashes on startup without any error and I don know what to do. I managed to leave the beta again tho, now I have the regular game.

@unknown: Normally, I would advise you that since the changed behavior represents a different bug, you should create a new report for it (after searching for one, that is; I'm pretty sure we already have reports for that). Since it's crashing, however, I'll instead tell you that crashes such as this are reported to Mojang automatically, so no report is required. They will already know about it. Glad you no longer are having this problem, though.

The bug has been reported here some time ago MCPE-99816 but no replies so far..
Also MC has been updated some times from that report but every time i switch to RTX beta, it crashes. This UWP format does not help at all because it gives zero errors. I don't know how to help you further more to identify the bug

for me the problem is in my microsoft account because when i reinstalled it, it only switched to beta when i logged in

I've been trying repeatedly for months to get shot of the Beta version. I've gone through the "Solution A B and C" about a dozen times, done reinstalls about 40 times now. Tried the "@unknown" fix (which is just Solution C anyway). Tried completely shutting down and recreating my Insider account. I've only got one user account. I am so fed up with this. I'm a software developer for 20 years now and NEVER have I seen such a shambles as not being able to play the commercial product because a BETA keeps getting reinstalled instead of the normal game. Come on - why can I not at least select which version I want to install - or at least have BETA and PRODUCTION installed side-by-side like any other software would allow. Can't get any direct call support either which just rubs salt into the wombs. Bring back traditional installs (appwiz.cpl) for Windows 10 - this xbox stuff is such a step backwards.

In some cases running WSRESET might work to reset any issues with the Windows Store.
Make sure you are unenrolled from the beta -> Uninstall Minecraft (for all users and backup any saves first) -> Run (Win+R) -> Type wsreset -> Enter (OK) -> wait for the screen to finish and MSstore to open -> install Minecraft.

So I've unenrolled from the beta -> Uninstall Minecraft (for all users and backup any saves first) > Run (Win+R) andn ran wsreset from the command prompt. This opened Microsoft Store after around 10 to 15 seconds as you say. Installing Minecraft STILL installs the beta though. (I could tell before even launching the game because the download size is 378.7MB and the version is 1.16.200.53).
Looking at my order history, I purchased Minecraft for Windows 10 Starter Collection in 23rd June 2019 and Minecraft for Windows 10 on 1st April 2020 (for my child). Could the problem be related to the fact that I've purchased the same product twice? I'm clutching at straws here but no suggestions have been successful to date.
Still can't play the game.

Can you clarify what you mean by Factory Reset? I hope you don't mean Windows? That's a pretty drastic step for a long-standing bug that should be fixed within XBox? Insider Hub? Minecraft? (Ha! I don't even know which component is at fault here) Can someone not reset my XBox account - clear out any beta crap from it?
Thanks.

try unistalling minecraft and install it again from the store

Thanks for the suggestion @Arturo but I've tried this and much more dozens of times. I'm well past that stage!
Please refer my opening comment here.

So I've created a new install of Windows 10 in a Hyper-V virtual machine and installed Minecraft onto it using the same user account. No BETA.
As I used the SAME user account to log into XBox for both my broken "beta-only" PC and the virtual machine running the same OS and install of Minecraft... is there anything I can do to copy or overwrite the packages/registry on my main PC from the virtual Windows to make my main PC run Minecraft in non-beta mode?
Surely this must be down to either:
a) Some setting stuck in the registry or filesystem on my PC; or
b) some setting within XBox related to my user account AND device (PC) combo that always insists on installing the beta-only version?
I'm leaning on the side of option (a) above. Surely this is something that Mojang/Xbox can both reproduced AND debug and identify the root cause and issue a proper fix?

I have the same issue from several months now, the only way I have found to avoid the bug is windows 10 option reset this PC after it's possible to install on windows store the good version of Minecraft. However on each Minecraft update I have to reset the PC again.

Thanks Vincent. I'm not prepared to reset my Windows OS for a bug in an Application. Although the VM method worked for me, it is pretty unplayable. Last night I created myself a separate local user account in Windows and installed Minecraft in there. I can live with logging into a separate user account to play Minecraft vs everything else that I use my computer for. Touch wood, Minecraft in this separate user account is running the non-beta version and hopefully it won't get infected by this ridiculous Minecraft Beta bug.

@unknown: I didn't think it was possible to have both regular and Beta releases installed on the same PC at the same time, because the executables have the same name and are stored in the same folder in Program Files. But I believe you because you're a developer and I expect you to know how important it is to give complete, accurate descriptions.
Ultimately, the choice of which version to offer you for download is up to the MS Store. I don't have inside knowledge of the process, but I'm a former developer of 30 years myself so I'm pretty good at guessing how it works. I believe your MS account (or a Store account that's in a one-to-one correspondence with it, probably) has a toggle that identifies you as a Beta member. When you join or leave the Beta, the Insider Hub is supposed to fire off transactions to the Store, Xbox Live, and probably other services that support installing and playing Minecraft. In the Store's case, that transaction sets or resets the toggle. So your problem should be one of the following:
The Insider Hub failed to kick off the Store update to reset the toggle when you left the Beta. This could be due to a network problem, for example. This can usually be solved by re-joining and re-leaving the Beta, so try that if you haven't yet.
The Insider Hub kicked off the Store update to a different account than the one you use to download Minecraft. These must have been the same account at some point or the toggle wouldn't have been turned on in the first place, but if you signed out of the store, signed back in with a different account, and allow the system to keep your session alive perpetually, that could be the problem. Similarly, if you signed Minecraft out of your MS account while running the Insider Hub, that might cause it.
The fact that your local user account downloaded the regular release tells me that it isn't signing into the Store with the same account your normal user account is signing in with. If you can explain why that is, it may be the key to resolving your problem.
Also, the fact that your local user account downloaded the regular release might mean that you now have the regular release in your normal user account, if I'm correct that it's impossible to have both versions installed on the same PC at the same time. Have you tried starting the game on your normal user account since then?

Please refrain from using the bug tracker to interact with other users (as opposed to staff). The bug tracker is not a chat site; the Minecraft Discord or MCPE sub-reddit should be used for such things. Comments here should be focused on providing additional information to the developers. Hi Auldrick,
(Sorry, I don't know how to quote within this forum)
> Auldrick: "I didn't think it was possible to have both regular and Beta releases installed on the same PC at the same time, because the executables have the same name and are stored in the same folder in Program Files. But I believe you because you're a developer and I expect you to know how important it is to give complete, accurate descriptions."
You're correct, that you can't have a beta and regular release installed at the same time. I probably didn't make it clear but prior to creating a new local user account, I uninstalled Minecraft from my main profile and installed it fresh in the new one.
This new install in a new fresh Windows 10 profile did in fact install the regular version of Minecraft. It lasted two days, but, when I logged in just now, I've found that that too has reverted once again to the beta version! Grrrrr! 😞
> Auldrick: "I believe your MS account (or a Store account that's in a one-to-one correspondence with it, probably) has a toggle that identifies you as a Beta member. "
Yes, I think you are correct.
> Auldrick: "When you join or leave the Beta, the Insider Hub is supposed to fire off transactions to the Store, Xbox Live, and probably other services that support installing and playing Minecraft. In the Store's case, that transaction sets or resets the toggle."
Yes, that makes sense.
> Auldrick: "1. The Insider Hub failed to kick off the Store update to reset the toggle when you left the Beta. This could be due to a network problem, for example. This can usually be solved by re-joining and re-leaving the Beta, so try that if you haven't yet."
I've done full enrol/unenrol cycle about six times to date across a series of months (each one followed by an uninstall and reinstall of MC via the Store). If it was a network problem, it appears to be permanent - except that I would then expect ALL beta insiders to have this problem which I'm assuming they don't - otherwise there will be more uproar about this issue than there is.
> Auldrick: "2. The Insider Hub kicked off the Store update to a different account than the one you use to download Minecraft. "
This now sounds much more plausible. I have a number of Microsoft accounts for work, MSDN, Partner Center, Office 365 as well as personal/family accounts for my two children. I've always tried to keep my personal XBox account separate from my work one but TBH, I've had a myriad of issues with Microsoft accounts over the years often with advise from Microsoft to "just create a new Hotmail account" (which IMHO has made things worse - if not just more confusing).
As far as I can possibly tell, I'm using the same Microsoft account in XBox, Insider and Store. (However these Universal Windows Platform (UWP) apps such as XBox and Insider give limited information on what's going on in the background).
> Auldrick: "The fact that your local user account downloaded the regular release tells me that it isn't signing into the Store with the same account your normal user account is signing in with. If you can explain why that is, it may be the key to resolving your problem."
Well, as my local user account version has now "upgraded" to the beta version (albeit after two days) I assume must have been using my same Microsoft/Xbox account (I am consistently logging into Xbox the same creds)
> Auldrick: "Also, the fact that your local user account downloaded the regular release might mean that you now have the regular release in your normal user account, if I'm correct that it's impossible to have both versions installed on the same PC at the same time. Have you tried starting the game on your normal user account since then?"
So as soon as I discovered that my local user account had auto-"upgraded" to beta, I uninstalled it (from local user account) and logged out of it. I'll install it now on my "normal" windows user account: ... installing... (378.7MB [this is going to be the beta, I know!] ... launching... BETA - straight away. Humm.
I don't get why my local user account installed the regular version where as my normal account installs beta from the off. I suspect at this point on, my local user account will install the beta from the off too.
Is there anyone, anywhere that would be able to:
Check my Microsoft/XBox account to see if the "Minecraft Beta" flag is enabled in the store?
Switch off the "Minecraft Beta" flag if it is?
I contact number or email address would be very much appreciated.
It sounds like it should be a really straight forward thing for a Microsoft engineer to do. I'm a developer for a number of platforms that we've built and I could do a similar check/correction in a matter of minutes. This however, has been going on for months and I can't work on my main Minecraft world in a beta for obvious reason.
Thanks, Chris

Store and Xbox Live are supported by their respective teams. There is an Xbox Live chat tool where people have asked for help with this problem, but the wait times appear to be extreme (currently 73 minutes) and I have no information about whether they were helpful. Sorry, I don't have a link, but web search can find it. Store support is through Microsoft Support. Xbox Live support is via Xbox Support (link in the description at the top).
It's too bad your local account reverted to giving you the Beta. But at least it establishes that your user accounts are probably signing into the Store with the same MS account. I recommend you don't delete the local account while it's joined to the Beta. I don't know that it would be a problem, but better safe than sorry.
I've reached out to Community Management about your issue. There are still some technical issues making the join/leave process less than perfectly robust, so this ticket remains open and there might eventually be a fix for your problem. But in the mean time, your case seems special, possibly unique, so they're trying to get you some one-on-one help from the Xbox team. Watch for an email, and good luck!

One more thing, just to be sure you've tried everything:
The definitive help for joining or leaving the Beta program is at https://aka.ms/JoinMCBeta. (This page was just updated today, and I'm not sure what was changed.) Please make sure that you've tried the Store troubleshooter solution. There's a link in the section "Multiple Users on One Device".

Thanks for your help Auldrick. It's much appreciated. I'll keep the local user account open and wait to see if I hear anything via email.
I'm going to carefully read through and retry the revised instructions. (I've already started retrying the reenrol/unenrol process, leaving 12-24 hours between each step in case of delays in inter-system messages causing the problem.). If a permanent fix finally occurs, I'll report back here. Thanks.

I'm confident that you don't have to wait 12 hours between steps—30 minutes should be enough in virtually all cases—but go ahead if that works better for you.

So I went through the enrol/unenrole steps leaving 12+ hours between each step. Didn't fix the problem.
I've since also tried signing out of XBox and PlayStore and logging in with my son's account and then installing Minecraft. This also installed the Beta!
Whatever the problem is, I am convinced it is some latent stuff physically stored on my PC (outside of my profile) that is causing this to happen. The PC (different user accounts and different windows profiles are ALL installing the Beta. The only thing it is limited to is my PC (our laptop doesn't have this occur).

Have you ever tried Settings > Apps > Minecraft > Advanced options > Reset? It might be something you need to do from every user account, I'm not sure. It claims to delete the app's data (make sure you have backups), and I'm wondering if it might do more than uninstalling does, possibly resetting the hypothetical extra-.profile data.
Also, did you ever get the email I mentioned above? If not, I might have misunderstood the plan, but I could check into it again.

Auldrick, i have same problem, but no any solutions helped me. I tried to reset Minecraft, reboot pc, and clear MS Store cache, but it not work(

Yes, i have same problem. I hope Mojang can fix it. I bored at beta( I want play with friends, on servers...

I too have same problem.
For those still affected, please make sure you've followed the instructions mentioned here:
If you have (or have had) any other users or accounts on your device - you must make sure they have also unenrolled from the beta and uninstalled the game too.
Also, you may wish to try the following steps, which will allow time for any delays in the system:
1. Uninstall Minecraft from the PC
2. Run the command line:
Get-AppxPackage -allusers *minecraftUWP* | remove-appxpackage -allusers
3. Wait 24 hours
4. Install Minecraft

Hi, none of the methods work for me, I'm stuck in beta for over a month now.

I'm sorry, but this is not a bug in Minecraft and the bug tracker can't help you with it. The teams responsible for how joining and leaving the Beta works (well, is supposed to work) are Microsoft, not Mojang. They provided the FAQ and troubleshooting information referred to by Mega_Spud just above your comment. I suggest you go through their instructions again carefully, making sure you understand what they're telling you or asking you to do. If you find it difficult to understand, it might help to ask for help from the community on the Minecraft Discord, or you might prefer to try Xbox Support. (They are one of the responsible teams, but not the only one.)

I have the same problem. No matter which account I log in with, the bet always opens, even if the account was still working on my friend's computer.

There can be many reasons for this problem to occur.
There are two main reasons for this. One is that you may not have left the Minecraft BETA program. You can check that again by reinstalling Xbox Insider Hub (Legacy) or use the new Xbox Insider Hub. If this is the problem and still you are unable to enroll you must ask support in the Microsoft Community.
Another reason is that after you uninstall Minecraft and reinstall it again, the cached files are used again so the same version is installed. To prevent this, first uninstall Minecraft normally and use the command
Get-AppxPackage -allusers "*minecraftUWP*" | remove-appxpackage -allusers
Run the above command in Powershell. Search for Powershell in the search bar and select run as administrator. You should enter the password of the administrator account of the system if it is prompts you to enter password. After the command has been executed, close the Powershell. Now you can install Minecraft again from Microsoft Store. This time you might see that it takes some time to download the package.

I am still having this issue and I have already done what you've recommended. I also don't see why my comments are being deleted.

Hello there, I was have same problem, but i leaved Minecraft Beta when new version (1.16.100) comed, Microsoft store updated my Minecraft from Beta version to 1.16.100 and i successfully leaved beta, after all tips at Xbox Insider Hub. "Can`t leave Minecraft Beta"

@unknown: I have modified your comment above to insert quotes around the search string "*minecraftUWP*". Often you can get away with not using them in Powershell, but sometimes it causes problems. Also, we have just learned that the missing quotes has caused the command to be copied incorrectly to the Xbox troubleshooting page for fixing this problem.

i have a similar problem whenever i try to leave the preview on insider hub the insider hub crashes and every solution i find doesnt work. Others also have the same problem. And microsoft still didnt fix the bug PLEASE JUST FINNALY FIX IT.

Im Stuck In The 1.16.230 Beta And Tried To Leave And Go Back To The Main Release Of The Game And When I Go To Install The Public Version It The Beta Version.

You can unenroll from the beta, then delete minecraft then reinstall it again

These are the steps you need to do:
Windows 10 And Xbox One: Turn on your Windows 10 or Xbox One, and download Xbox Insider Hub (Mind though if you are younger than 18 on your Microsoft account then you won't be able to enter the App) And go to Insider Content, click the Minecraft Beta, then click Join (Or Manage if you want to leave) and then uninstall Minecraft (And you have to delete it from all accounts if your Xbox or PC has more than one person playing (For Xbox One only, Hard Restart your Console by pressing the Xbox Symbol for 10 seconds not via the remote then turn it back on again) Then Go to the Microsoft Store and reinstall Minecraft and you should have left/joined the Minecraft Beta!
Android: Go to the Google Play Store and click Leave the Program/Join the Program underneath the Leave/Join the Testing Program then uninstall and reinstall Minecraft then you are in/out of the Beta on Android
DISCLAMER: THE MINECRAFT BETA IS CURRENTLY ONLY SUPPORTED ON ANDROID, WINDOWS 10 PC'S AND XBOX ONE'S AND IS NOT AVALIBLE ON THE FOLLOWING:
NINTENDO SWITCH**
PS4 (PLAYSTATION 4) AND PS5 (PLAYSTATION 5)
APPLE **
AMAZON PHONES AND TABLETS
WII U
EDUCATION EDITION

i am stuck some how i got into beta but am to young for the app and deleting minecraft did not help
beta is fun but not when you cant play with your frends and are bored of it
because beta is not on switch or playstation
i have an acount on my aunts computer
and she has it is this the problem? i am on my laptop at home though

@unknown: I think you're the first person with this issue who has mentioned using accounts on multiple devices, one of which is shared with an account that has joined the Beta program. We know that if you were on your aunt's computer you would be forced to use the Beta version but we don't currently know whether that would affect you on your own laptop. I would guess it's a good possibility though, and might be an important hint as to why nothing has helped some people having this issue. I'm going to try to bring this to Mojang's attention.
For you, I would suggest that you temporarily join the Beta on your laptop at home, as that might resynchronize your computer with the Xbox network and the Windows Store, all of which participate in supporting the Beta program and therefore need to be in agreement about it. Once you've joined, you can leave the Beta again and that might solve your problem.
Please understand that the bug tracker is only for reporting bugs, it's not a Customer Support site. This problem may be related to a bug, but in many cases it can be resolved by the customer much sooner with the help of Community Support from the Minecraft Discord. The community volunteers on the Discord have much more experience with solving problems like this than the staff here do, so I would ask for help there if you need it.

i was asked if this looks similar and it does but different because the real update was not out (whell now it is )

I've made my Minecraft work by reinstalling Windows from scratch. I did it before, through update and security in the Windows 10 settings, and it worked temporarily. I ended up resetting everything completely and completely wiping the drives and reinstalling Windows from a USB with a new license and it ended up working. Like Foxy has stated, this is not a good solution. Not exactly sure what is happening but I'm thinking it's an account issue or a Microsoft store issue. Something to do with Windows itself.
Sorry that this is an ongoing issue for some of you.
One of the common reasons why users have this issue can be unenrolling and reinstalling too quickly; it can take up to 24 hours to fully unenroll.
Additionally, if there’s another account on the device that is enrolled in the beta, or if you launch the Minecraft Beta on any device where you are signed in, it may re-enroll your account - this might be something to look out for.
In addition to the Windows store troubleshooting steps mentioned previously, you may wish to try the following:
Backup any worlds / data you wish to keep
Uninstall Minecraft.
Re-join the Minecraft for Windows 10 Beta (navigate to Previews > Minecraft for Windows 10 > Join), and select the Group you want to leave.
Once the registration completes, select Manage > Unenroll.
If there are additional accounts on a Windows 10 device, repeat steps 3 & 4 for each one, one at a time.
Wait an additional 24 hours after unenrollment completes.
Reinstall Minecraft.

Has someone had the same problem but on Android? I'd really appreciate someone's help

I'm not aware of any Android-specific differences in the process of leaving the Beta, so if you've tried adapting the instructions above and are still stuck, you probably need interactive support. However, the bug tracker is not the place for that. I suggest asking on the Community Support Discord. Most of the people who have this kind of problem are able to solve it by working with them.

I really tried, but I only got an answer from a bot, and everyone completely ignored me

I've tried reenrolling/unenrolling many, many times. One machine, one user account, one Microsoft account. Waited a day, waited a week, MS store keeps giving me the Beta version. Short of giving me direct access to the stable package release in the launcher, I haven't seen any solution that ironclad works for me. This is a very suspicious bug that has not been fixed. And I have no way of knowing where it is, or who can fix it.

I went into the settings (button on the lower Left corner of hub screen) I deleted all my data in there then uninstalled the hub and Minecraft I will see if this works.

I'm on beta and found the preview program after seeing no more updates on my setup.
Now preview is great but how to opt out of beta ? in the insider hub I don't see minecraft anymore so no way to opt out 😞
[media][media]

I'm not sure we can help you with this any more, since the process no longer works the way it used to. It never was actually a bug in Minecraft, but rather in the Store and/or Insider Hub.
However, you might want to try uninstalling and reinstalling Minecraft before looking elsewhere. Make sure you've backed up any Beta worlds you'll want to reload in the Preview first.
If that doesn't work, I would suggest contacting Xbox Support next. Community Support might have advice as well.
Thank you for your report!
